:eek:Long story short I have a duck in my tub. I'm looking for a few answers that I can not find online. How often and how much do you feed a duck?

I have called a duck rescue and I am waiting for them to call me back. I went to a feed store and bought duck food.

Hes so cute and he is very very needy. So I need to spend the night in the bathroom to keep him quite.:lmao:

So if someone has an answer I would appreciate any thing I can get. Thanks Jo

Is this a wild duck? How did it happen to land in your tub?

We raised a pair of pekin ducks a couple of years ago. If this is a duckling, he will need to be kept warm. From what I remember, they also need water while eating. You can just put the food out and it will eat when hungry. And they are VERY very messy!! :rotfl:

Have fun with your new baby!

i don't have any answers for you but I am also curious how the duck ended up in your bathtub and I want pictures!!

Update I found a rescue home. Ok for the story. I was at a park with friends fishing, we were watching this duck following some people. They walked by us it was a domesticated duck, he was very thirsty and hungry and very friendly.

If you walked away he would cry. So I thought well I cant leave him here, he can not fend for himself. So I sat in the bathroom with some water in the tub and some food. About 30 minutes ago the person from the rescue called and we took him there. They have a pond and will find him a good home. He curled up with me on the floor and started to fall asleep, Sorry no pics I wish I could have. Thank you for answering my post I really apreciate it very much!! Jo

Thanks for caring! :thumbsup2

Odds are that somebody got tired of the duck (remember all those cute little Easter ducks - well they grow up and don't generally do well in the house) and decided that "it would do just fine at a nice pond with other ducks and stuff". Domesticated animals don't just suddenly learn how to take care of themselves.

Good job, and I'm sure the duck will do fine now thanks to you! :goodvibes

"I have a duck issue"

That sounds like a tag to me! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Aww good of you to take the little guy in :goodvibes He sounded like a cutie! And is in a better place now thanks to you :thumbsup2

Glad this little duck is in good hands now! I feel bad for abandoned Easter animals. I was at the local shelter last week and noticed there were 5 rabbits there. Usually there's only one or none at all. The volunteer lady said they are all about 4-5 months of age and are given up after the children are no longer interested in their Easter basket surprises. Sad reality...

Too cute. My dd rescued a baby duck several years ago at her father's apartment. Its mother and siblings were all killed. It couldn't fend for itself. She raised it until it was bigger then put it back in the lake. Well long story short, it adored my dd. So when her dad bought a house on a lake, off to the new lake went Quakers. Well Quakers ended up being a girl and has had many babies since then to populate the lake. She allows my dd to pick up those babies almost as soon as they hatch. Has never tried to attack my dd like some will when you mess with the babies. I guess Quakers thinks my 13yo dd is the grandma.....LOL. So she is doing fine in the lake but still wants to be with my dd when she goes down to the lake to play with the babies.

You are a good person.

You have certainly surpassed my Squirrel Escort Service. :goodvibes

Well I guess I rescue anything, I'll let you know if I deal with a squirrel. Ducks are needy as this one always cried if I walked away for a minute. I took a nap on the bathroom floor. :lmao: Its nice to know people really care about animals. Jo:cheer2:

I'm wondering why this duck was named after oatmeal. :confused3

I think she meant Quackers.

I would have thought that too but the the poster referred to the duck as "Quakers" three times. So, I don't think it is a typo or misspelling but really the duck's name.

Oh how sweet ! I can just see the little guy curled up with you
So glad he found the right oerson to take care of him.
