I hate when people do that!

While I totally agree the lady the OP was talking about is going overboard, sometimes people are shopping for those who can't get to the store themselves.

My mom is pretty much homebound. Sometimes she needs me to grab things for her if they're not available online. That might explain why someone has two of something.

Twelve, of course, is probably just wild, unchecked greed.

I also hate people do the resale thing but i never thought about charity/prize give away aspect.
I would like to share a good BF story. I made a purchase at KB Toys on BF although the the delivery truck had been delayed so the item wasn't there yet. I went back to the store to pick up 2 Playstation/XBox (I don't remember exacly) and the clerk had mistakenly put them all out and they were all sold. I was upset but things happen and they refunded my money. Why get all in a huff over something that could easily happen. I would have paid full price but they could not be bought at any price that year. The boys could wait until February or so until the demand could be met.
Later that night the CEO called me to apologize. He then sent us 2 of the game consoles! I never asked for that but was so impressed with the company.

This was me. I was at Target getting multiples of items. Mind you the most I bought of anything was three (the iTunes GC). I did also buy two of the cameras one for me and one for my aunt who is seeing impaired - not blind but can't see at all at night (I think they call it night blind) so can't drive at night so no way she can be there for the doorbusters at 4 am.

Six TVs is defintely a bit excessive though and I was told that I couldn't have more than two cameras no matter what.

At kmart today 2 guys had 7 doll playsets 8 lincoln log sets and 10 nerf gun sets- maybe they r doing resale

Maybe they have more than one child or nieces and nephews to buy for. I hate when they put limits on the amount you can buy. I have 5 kids and I almost always need more than 1 of an item.

It's just silly! I checked craigslist(both the same day and yesterday) and one person had 4 of the Westinghouse Target tv's for sale. One said he had three of the Walmart Emerson BF tv's from Walmart. Another had "at least 4" of the Target tv's and it said right in the Ad " I bought too many on BF and need to sell" for $100 more each....

Right now as I checked a minute ago there are at least 12 ad's listed Brand New in box tv's from Walmart. Some are asking more $$ than the regular store price. Then a couple other people have posted "beware" "scams" check Walmart first etc.

Here is a copy and pasted section of one person's ad.

"If you missed the TARGET Doorbuster, you can buy it from me

I paid $320 and want $400"

Those of you who won't buy from resellers, do you ever shop in ebay for new items? Do you research the sellers before buying from them? If you do buy on ebay and don't research the sellers, then you ARE buying from people who do this.

I'm not sure why people are judging all those who do this. In this economy, people are coming up with creative ways to put food on the table and pay the rent/mortgage. If they found that they can make a living by hunting down bargains and taking the time to resell and give good customer service for their clients, then what's wrong with that? Yes it likely means that somebody else misses out on that deal because they've stocked up on a cartload, but isn't this the basics of capitalism? They went out of their way to get that deal.

If there is a limit then the store really needs to enforce that limit. I can't really fault the consumer for doing what the store has allowed them to do.

How many people were on here when Wal-Mart was doing their $35 for $50 iTunes GCs bragging about how many they were able to score despite the limit of 2? Why is it ok when people around here are doing well because of getting more than the posted limits but not when others are doing so? Sounds like one heck of a double standard to me.

FYI: No I didn't do this myself. I have been known to buy a few things up when stores are closing down and resell on ebay but I'm not leaving my house on BF other than to go to work. I'm very much a rule follower (I'm borderline OCD about it actually) so I've never bought more than listed limits unless I'm expressly told by store management that I can and the only time I've asked is for non-profit organizations. I just don't see why there's so much judgement going on.

I made the mistake of stopping in Walmart on BF around midnight...:scared1:

I had hopes of the $3 hand mixer and maybe a few $10 games...Well seems greed was the name of the game..the $10 games were gone within 5min of the sale starting. From what I heard, people just GRABBED and ran. Did not even look at what they were getting. Same goes for most of the items on the floor pallets...I saw people walking around with 6-8 hand mixers, but I was unable to score even 1. It was insane.

We did manage to get True Blood S1 DVD set, last copy. As DH was reaching for it, some woman tried to push him out of the way to get it from him. He stood his ground and pushed back, she fell on her behind, and we scored the DVD...she walked away in a huff...:rotfl:

Then it took 45min to check out...NEVER AGAIN
