Sorry to all you Walmart fans out there, but I absoluetely cannot stand that store.
My sister seems to think that everyone in our family loves Walmart, and as such, we all get Walmart gift cards for birthday, Christmas and any other occasion that comes up.
We very infrequently go there, but thats the closest store to her home.
Today we went to spend my sons birthday gift card and his Christmas gift card. Nothing in toys that he liked.. only had babyish stuff, and no Legos that were not the bigger baby kind. There were no Quantum Leap pad books, and no Knex that weren't the younger kid ones.
Electronics we did not fare any better. He wasn't interested in any DVD's or music CD's that they had handy. Xbox games were extremely picked over and only lousy selection left.
He also wanted an Eagles jersey. No Eagles jersey in boys. We decided to try in mens (he could wear a small mens), and they only had 2x and 3x in mens Eagles jerseys.
Journeyed back to toys, and he picked up Star Wars monopoly.
My daughter didn't see anything in toys that didn't look cheap or poorly made.
She also looked at Gamecube games and there was nothing left that she was interested in. (only simpsons games!)
We looked at watches and she saw a few watches (Timex pooh and Eeyore), and she wasn't that crazy about it. She found a Barbie watch she loved and bought.
We spent about an hour in the store but couldn't find anything else.
I had to return a Black and Decker Home Cafe, and I couldn't get cash! Great yet another Walmart gift card. I might just buy a DVD player, provided that they have more than the lousy $29 ones that they had today.
I even looked at the Christmas paper/ leftovers. The paper was more expensive per square foot than Target. I could get a 130 sq. foot roll for $1.50. There at Walmart they had 40 sq. foot rolls for 75 cents.. it was a better deal for more square footage at Target.
Maybe this is just a lousy store, but I can never find anything there. I sit in amazement when people leave with carts full of stuff. There was boxes in the aisles, and stuff all over the place.
My son gets so disappointed because the selection is so lousy there. We do sometimes go to another Walmart, but its always packed with people, and can never find anything.
Is this typical of Walmarts? If it had a grocery store it would be more useful to me. This is just stuff...
