These posts drive me crazy! By the way, since SSR is so big, could that perhaps be the reason there are more rooms available? Give me a break - why don't you go and stay at a discount hotel room in Kissimmee - I'm sure you'll have a better time than staying at such a 'nasty' resort such as SSR. I'm glad you don't like it since I won't have to be hearing you complain while I lounge by the pool totally enjoying SSR!!!

It is sad to see someone have such a negative approach to such a happy place. I do not understand why anyone would feel a need to bash any DVC resort as the OP did, especially without having stayed there. I can hoestly say that I am proud to be able to stay in any of the DVC Resorts that exist.

Brian, Daitcher, what was there join dates? Reading through these boards it seems there is a common theme there. Being the new guy I'm still trying to get a feel for this place. Seems anyone who posts concerns or criticisms of SSR gets the flames. I'm a little scared to add anything. Should I be? Is this a place for only positive reviews?

Other posters have explained why we're all a little less patient than normal about SSR-bashing, but I would like to add that a couple of posters developed the bad habit of bashing on threads that were not originally intended for opinion-sharing.

For example, a new thread would be titled "Just got back from great time at SSR." Posters would respond with things like "glad to hear you had so much fun" or "we're going to SSR in two weeks...thanks for the great review" or even "we own at BCV, but we're glad you like your home resort. We'll have to try it out sometime."

But then, suddenly, someone would post something like "it'd be a great resort it if wasn't so terrible and offsite, blah blah blah." Yes, people are entitled to their opinions, but a thread where someone is talking about a great experience is just not the place to do that.

Someone once said on here that he could post whatever he wants because it's a public message board. I don't mean to get too heavy here, but I keep thinking of that Abe Lincoln quote: "Character is what you have when nobody's looking."

Anyway, I think these boards are great fun. Don't be afraid...these people are so nice and willing to answer any questions you have, and, best of all, they totally get the Disney thing, so you can come here and talk all you want and don't have to bewilder your friends and family. (Sorry, but I have to smile at everyone here.)

I'm not quite sure where you guys are going with this but here it is. I own BCV and stay there almost all of the time. Time has come where we would like a few more DVC trips. We have 3 kids (3, 5, 9) so we spend a good deal of time in the parks so we bought BCV for the pool and park access. Now we are considering an add on at SSR. All the positive reviews of the place have got me thinking. 12 extra years is hard to pass up considering we aren't that old. Our favorites are BCV, BWV, VWL, and OKW. SSR doesn't appeal to our family. We live in Texas (Southlake - DFW area) so we like a more landscaped resort I guess. SSR seems like home, a little flat and bare. I guess the reson we are torn is that we already own BCV so maybe SSR with the 12 extra years is the way to go? Help please. I'm still not sure what I said that is so bad.

The landscaping at SSR is still very new & once it matures, barring any unforseen circumstances, it will be gorgeous!

Thanks for that. You come on a board looking for information to make an informed purchase and you get nothing but this? Sorry but it looks like I'll be looking elsewhere for information. To much personal stuff on here to wade through. Thanks anyway. Anyone know of another forum? Please pm with that.
