UGH I hate packing for trips to WDW this time of year... THERE... I said it. I HATE it! lol

Any other time of year, shorts, tanks, sunscreen... In the winter you need shorts, and jeans and short sleaved t's and long sleaved t's and coats and hats and gloves and sunscreen lol PLUS we layer since mornings are cold... so that means lugging the layers around as the day goes on.

Anyway we leave in 4 hours and I still need to finish up.

Florida is a hard state to pack for, in the winter. I'm in SE Texas and we get the same type of weather. The kind where if you wait a few minutes, it changes.

Packing coats is a major PITA!

I have to agree!!! We are going for 4 nights and my van looks like we are going for 2 weeks!!!!! :rotfl:

Are you serious? It could be worse. For example, you could be stuck here where I am. It's snowing. :goodvibes Enjoy your trip!

Or here with freezing rain/snow and the wind beating the mix against my windows. But you're right, December trips to WDW you gotta pack everything except the kitchen sink :P

Last year, being the Irish optimist that I am, I only packed one pair of shorts for our Christmas trip....needless to say I ended up at the Liz Claiborne outlet in Orlando buying more pairs!!!

Ice storm here this AM with double digit thousands without power! :( I'll find a way to work through the packing hardship, err well at least DW will. If I packed, we'd only fit half as much stuff, and the stuff I packed would be the wrong stuff... :rotfl2:

BTW, I'm lousy with wrapping paper, too. :rotfl:

I am going through the same thing! We have always gone in the summer, so this is much different. With the weather here the padt 2 weeks, I cannot wait to get out of here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You could always cancel your trip and stay home. :rotfl2: Then you don't have that stress of what to pack you just need the winter coat. :teeth:

Oh goodness, I can relate to that. I packed about twice as much as I normally would. I packed clothes I could layer but that still added up to more stuff than usual. We had only one night that we needed REALLY warm clothes but we would have been miserably cold without them. Hats and gloves we used several times to keep from feeling chilly.

I was there last week and you really didn't need shorts unless your an extremely hot person. It never went over 72 degrees. Check the forcast for your trip first.

I agree with the above poster. We're going in January, so even if the weather happens to be warm it won't be THAT warm! Shorts would be one less thing to take up room in the suitcase, so I'm taking long pants for all of us. Plus I'm only packing enough for half our stay, as I'll be doing laundry at the resort while there.

I'm sure you won't be the only traveler with your suitcases maxed out! I'm the same way; I tend to overpack like crazy! Have a wonderful time and enjoy it for those of us digging out of our all day and all night snowfall! :)

I made the mistake of taking only winter clothes 2 years ago. I had one pair of shorts. There was record breaking heat in Orlando that Dec./Jan. It was 85 degrees and humid. I was dying. I had to go to Target and buy my son some shorts. We never touched our coats the whole week there!

We had heat like that two weeks ago, here in Houston. :sunny:

I did the same thing the last time I went in December, but I did it in reverse. We always went the exact same week and one year it was great! We went to BB, swam all the time and wore shorts.

The next year, we packed for the same weather - which is really, really stupid for us, considering that Florida will usually get our weather a few days later - and it was FREEZING. There's nothing like paying the big bucks for Disney clothing to keep your rearend warm.

Don't know how that happened! Sorry for the duplicate posts!
