I really do hate them. I had one last night & woke up with it this morning. I'll probably have one tomorrow too. They really stink, I get them too often and they will pick up with the warm weather. I try not to complain because I know there are lots of worse things people live with but I can't help but think about all the people who don't get them and what life must be like without so much pain. Can I say it again? I HATE, HATE, HATE MIGRAINES

OK, I'm done complaining & will now grin and bear it in silence.

i would think that the real scoop would be if someone would come on and answer that they cant wait for the next one:)

I always think this painting by Edvard Munch, (that was stolen,) was of a migraine:

I am so sorry for your pain. I had several migraines last week, the first time in over 10 years. I don’t know how people can deal with them on a daily basis!

I hope you feel better

I hate migraines - I can't see when I get one due to the aura and zigzagging lines, so it affects my job since I have to step away and get someone to cover. I know my trigger is chiropratic related (had something to do with movement or position of my neck) but I can't seem to figure it out exactly. I had a migraine last week, the first one in 4 months, so whatever causes them is still causing them. Least mine are nowheres near as frequent as when I was younger (I could get 2 a week back then).

Sigh. :(

Actually, I find them to be quite pleasant......ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I've only had a handful of them, but I had a really killer one in college. My roommate zipped her bookbag and I thought my head was literally going to explode. If my head HAD exploded it probably would have been an improvement.

Oh man, migraines are my FAVORITE!!!! LOL Kidding....I HATE them and get them a lot too. I just deal with them but man, I hate them!

I don't have as many as I used to; as I've gotten older, they've subsided somewhat. But yes, I hate them! I've heard heat on your feet, and an ice pack on the back of your neck will help. I'm going to try that next time I get one.
And nausea! Do you throw up when you have a migraine? I usually do.

Yes, I do. :( :headache: I ususally throw up the migraine medicine, so I don't know how much is in my system, or if I need to take more.

Last migraine knocked me off my feet for two days. :(

I get light triggered migraines....I wear sunglass on cloudy, overcast days and have a cube at work with no light near it. it is referred to as the bat cave.

Sometimes yes, not every time tho. Normally I take something and go back to sleep. I use an eye pillow when I have mine, basically it's a "pillow" that goes over my eyes, it's filled with rice (which can be heated in the microwave or put in the freezer to chill) and lavender. I really like it a lot, it does help.

Mine are as frequent as they used to be but can still get pretty bad. Before I had dd (my pregnancy with her somehow lessened them), I would have to come in from work and go into a completely dark room for a little while. Now I like to take a hot bath and lay a hot cloth on the back of my neck, that seems to help (dh says that hot baths seem to be my cure all ).

I did read somewhere that you can take a icy cloth and put on the back of your neck and a hot cloth on the your forehead and that would help. It made my headache extremely severe for a minute or so but then it really did go away.

I despise migraines! They run in my family, and I don't remember not having them. I also use the hot/cold packs and they're wonderful. They do help. And I do get sick when I have them. YUK!

When I was a teenager, my most wonderful pediatrician made me keep a food and mood diary. He used it to pinpoint some of my migraine triggers. I still go back to the food and mood diary if I start having frequent migraines. It still works! No more diet orange drink for me. Thank you again, Dr. Mac!

DH's family is migraine free. He had no prior experience. You can fill in the blanks!

It's almost Master's week!

Sometimes I tell people because I'm wincing and squinting my eyes and don't want to look kooky without an explanation, but then I feel like they might think I'm playing for sympathy, but I'm not. So annoying, I annoy myself. Thankfully I don't yack because I get a dozen or so a month depending, no-one in my family ever got the stomach part, we get the neurological weirdness instead. When spring comes and my allergies step up the migraines are relentless, and it's almost here so YAY flowers, not so much of a yay for the other stuff though.

I woke up without one so mini yay, but the hormones are in full throttle and it's raining so I know my time today is limited.

I never heard of anyone else who had a problem with orange, everyone thinks I'm so odd because of it. I have trouble not just with orange drinks juices and sodas, but ANYTHING orange flavored like candy. Heaven forbid I'm careless and an orange skittle gets munched in a movie, I can almost taste the migraine begin, it's like a direct nerve path is triggered by the taste. Truly weird.

Yes! Lavender and Rosemary really help me too! I love my imitrex, but can't take it while pregnant. :(

I used to get them at least once a week as a child. Now I get 2-4 a year. Better than a stick in the eye, but I still am miserable when I get them. I was like a mole person during my last one. I had all the curtains closed and was wearing sunglasses inside.

What are you taking for them? I take Relpax as soon as I feel it come on and that knocks it out. I lalso take Topamx as a preventive because I get them so often. CoQ10 is also helpful.

Been fighting one all last week and yesterday it would not be beaten into a drug induced submission. Took 3 rounds and I still went to bed a little headachey. Which means I came in with a drug hangover today.
