I Hate Fireworks!!!

They are just so stupid! They scare the kitties and the baby and they are so pointless!!!

I don't mind designated times and areas, like 4th of July festivities or Disney but when they go off randomly in your neighborhood I can't stand it.

Not pointless...both pretty as well as symbolic. But yeah, I think they should be relegated to July 4th only. Seems they start blasting them a good week before the holiday.

Maybe I should clarify. I don't mean the pretty displays that flare up in the sky, I mean the big explosions/bombs that make you jump when they go off nearby. You know, the stuff 14 year olds like.

I have no issues with official ones as all safety measures have been taken

I DO have issues with idiots who set them off for the two weeks around the holiday in conditions that are too dry for it. It would be VERY easy to set off a fire around here and most people (here at least) don't take any sort of precautions about it.

I like them on the actual day. I DON'T like when the neighbors set them off a week straight after July 4th because they are so stupid they bought way too many and now have to get rid of it.
I would like THEM to buy some anti-anxiety stuff for my dogs

The kids/teens/adults in our neighborhood have started shooting them off and my poor Siamese Mushu is not happy at all. It happens every year. We just try to keep Mushu in the same room as us so he won't freak out.

I love fireworks but can't see them this year ( I live in Colorado and there's a huge ban) but it sucks when others use them randomly and stupid

In my area, fireworks that shoot and go boom, just became legal this year. Thus, people are going crazy. I don't mind them, but my huge dog does. What I don't like is them going off at 2am. A normal time, like 10-1130 is fine, but not 2am.

I'm with you. I've never hated them before but our state law changed this year and it is totally out of control... Any idiot can go down to the temporary shop set up in a parking-lot tent and buy pretty much anything, and the teen/young adult men in my neighborhood have been setting them off for weeks already. It is way too dry for it, and the noise is obnoxious.

They keep us up for about 2 weeks before the 4th and about a month after in my neighborhood. The dogs shake and cry the entire time. Ugh. I think fireworks should be set off only on the 4th.

Right there with you. I don't mind the controlled displays, but I hate the idiots who insist on setting them off in our wooded neighborhood when it has been so dry and hot like it has been. I will spend this whole week praying that they don't burn this place to the ground.

Worse, they aren't legal here but the cops won't do anything to stop it. Not only are these people idiots who don't know how to respect fire, they are also law breakers. Just makes my blood pressure rise every year.

I like them at WDW, other than that I really don't have any use for them. But if others want to shoot them off I don't care, as long as it isn't dry outside and it isn't past midnight.

I don't mind any kind of fireworks, as long as they're set off at a reasonable hour. Last night the neighbors behind us were shooting off fireworks from about 12:30-1:15 am. That's way too late. Thankfully they didn't wake my kids up.

Around here, New Year's Eve is way worse than the 4th of July. The fireworks on NYE last into the wee hours of the morning, with very little let up. Those really annoy me.

I really, really don't like it when people set them off in my neighborhood. We have lots of trees and the noise echos for days. It always seems like they go off a week before the 4th and a week after, always late at night on weekends...when I have to get up early for work. However, this year it seems like they've quieted down, but I'm also away from home this weekend so I can't really say.

I don't mind them so much when people shoot them off on the actual 4th (Heck, maybe even 3rd) but please, if it's still JUNE, put them away! And if it's after the 4th? Keep them for next year and learn not to buy so many next time

Our county is under a burn and personal fireworks ban, yet my idiot neighbor was setting off fireworks until 1 am in the cul-de-sac right outside my window. Someone called the cops and they came out, left and the guy started shooting them off again 5 minutes later. There were others around here doing the same thing.

I love fireworks, set off correctly, at appropriate times and under good conditions. Just follow the rules.
