Ok, ok, so if there was any real danger, I wouldn't hate fire alarms...but when you get jerked awake at 3:30 am and have to stand outside in January in your pajamas for 20 minutes because someone on the guys' side thought it'd be fun to play fireman- you hate them!

Incidentally, going back up to my room once we were allowd back in the building reminded me of being in line for a Disney park attraction...this attraction was called dreamland. hehehe.

:D
Elizabeth had an auto response posted on IM today that says
" Lesson for 1/30/03...
If you have a fire alarm goes off at 3:30 am in January, do not under any circumstances leave the room without shoes."
:D
I know you had yours on AngieBelle:D

You were wearing shoes, right AB? False alarms are very frustrating, aren't you glad there wasn't a fire?

hehe, yes, I had shoes. I almost went out in my flipflops though! then I thought better of it and grabbed my loafers.

I'm dreading this for next year...
And my college had a dorm fire last year and the dorm had to be shut down.

Angie, I really hated that too in college!!! There were times where we wouldn't even bother to leave the room since they happened so much. The sad thing is when there was a real fire, the alarms didn't go off and we were forced to go outside... we didn't even get a chance to get shoes or coats on (and this was in January) because we were rushed outside so quickly! Fortunately I had friends who had the alarm working on their floor give some of us extra coats and other clothes to stand on while we waited 2 hours to go back inside.

there always seems to be false alarms in the winter when its cold..glad there wasn't a fire..

I work in a high school & my room is about the quarter of the size of a classroom and I have a full-size fire alarm in it! Plus, there's one just outside my door - so, I can't cover my ears as I'm trying to lock the door to evacuate. I am definitely for fire alarms, but do they have to have such a high decibel level?
Glad it was a false alarm Angie.
