I had a very bad, terrible, no good, awful day yesterday...SHE WILL DO IT!!

And it's still hanging on today. I went to measure and weigh after 6 weeks of working out and 2 weeks of low carb eating and found out that NOTHING had changed! I thought that I had lost 6 lbs. last week, but according to the Curves scale- I didn't lose anything ! Zero, zilch, zed! NOTHING!! :( My WISH clippie is a LIE!!!!! I have to go back and change it. Boohoo!!! Not only that, but I also didn't lose any inches after excercising for that long! Now .... what's that all about?!!?!? Well, after some whining to some friends, and yes, they gave me cheese along with that ;) , I've decided I just can't let it get to me anymore. Even if I don't lose, my blood sugar is down and the dark circles under my eyes are gone- sometimes THAT is as beneficial as losing 10 lbs!!- and I have better energy and feelings about myself. So- here's what I'm gonna do. I'm stopping Curves for 4-6 weeks- maybe I'm building up too much muscle???? And I'm just gonna walk with my hubby in the evenings , and instead of doing the Curves diet, I am totally changing to Atkins. I have better support here for that and right now that's really what I need. So- tomorrow- I start anew. Now.... if I could just figure out how to change that clippie back! ;)
 
You can do it- keep up the walking- that really helps me stay away from cravings and gives me loads more energy. I think the biggest thing to losing weight is keep moving and eat less- you can't gain sticking to those two thoughts.
Don't be discouraged- look at it from a fact that you didn't gain and you just traded some fat for muscle- which will help you lose in the future! And drink lots of water-
The Atkins will surely jumpstart you and you're just in time to take their challenge- I support you! Keep us posted- you're going to be keeping that 5 clippie after a week on Atkins!!

I'm sorry! I hope you have the success you are looking for with Atkins. Whatever you do, NEVER SURRENDER! KEEP YOUR DREAMS ALIVE! NEVER SURRENDER! HOLD YOUR HEAD UP HIGH! You are doing yoursef good even if you aren't losing weight. Muscle is good, and Atkins is sure to deliver.

Karen, you have such a wonderful outlook on things and I just know you can do it!! :) I am so glad you didn't decide to give up and I will be with you the entire time to encourage and support you!! :) I am so glad you are switching to total Atkins...now we will have so much more to share in pm's!! :):) Hugs!!!
 

Hey Karen good idea, you can walk with Tara and me tomorrow. I'm tellin ya I was so about to eat over my pnt. allotment tonight, plus I was feeling kind of depressed but I went for a walk instead. When I got back I didn't feel like cheating and I was in a better mood.
 
Hey, karebear, you didn't <i>tell</i> me you had made some muscles. That great!

Just hang in there, change your eating plan if you need to, change your work out if you need to, just don't give up.

Keep on, keeping on, my friend. You can do this, I know you can. I'm proud of your for taking control and making the changes you need to make to take control of this situation. Good for you!

I am better today. Better now then I was this morning, and I'll be better tomorrow too! Thanks for your encouragemnet everyone.

Just remember your positive accomplishments...lower blood sugar, no dark eye circles. Hope you find a food and exercise plan that fits you. Hang in there!

But I'll do it because I have fantastic friends on this board who NEVER cease to amaze me with their sense of dedication and compassion for me. There are no words in my vocabulary to tell you all how much I have grown to admire and love all of you.

But I don't know if I'd stop doing your exercises for quite so long...while it is disapointing to have stopped loosing weight remember that muscle will burn fat quicker...So, in the long run it is a positive thing....

Also, I have found that a different scale will ALWAYS give me a different number....I only use the same scale everytime I weigh myself in.....

It's great that you are not stopping your excersize all together --- walking will be a terrific substitute for you! Plus it will give you nice couple time since you'll be doing it with your hubby. It sounds like you have a terrific support system right at home!

WARNING -- you may feel awful the first week going entirely Atkins. But maybe you'll breeze right by it since you've been reducing your sugar already. Get in contact with nativetxn - Kath has the rules for induction in a word document. I'm sure she would email them to you. You may also find this website - A Beginners Guide to Low Carbing helpful during this first week or two.

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! I know it's super hard not to get discouraged, but sometimes the weight loss you have really earned is super slow showing up on the scale. Just keep on keepin' on, and you will succeed!!!

I love your attitude karebear1. :)Glad to hear you haven’t given up.

Don’t give up excercising. Remember we want to turn fat into muscle. We don’t have to be on muscle magazine but we do want to be tone. I know how you feel about working so hard then finding out the results aren’t what you thought they were. I had the same feeling when I got weighed in at Curves. I initially wanted to give up but I realized I want to be tone for the first time in my life and even though the scale isn’t going down like I had hoped I wasn’t going to give up. Don’t give up Curves. If you have cut down the amount of days you are going. Once you start back up you will feel it in your body.

right now Curves is on my POOPY list! And let me tell you, that's not where anyone wants to be. BUT- I will recover and be dignified and mature about it in a few weeks- right now....... They're just poopy over there! :p
