I had a BLT for Thanksgiving with a little Holiday & Birthday Cheer:NEW END & new PTR

Yeay for more fun Epcot pictures! Love all the holiday details you captured.

With Connor's newfound love of chess, he would be all about that chess set.

A caramel gingerbread house? It's like they said, "What combination would make Jackie giddy with delight?" They must have suspected my proclivity for caramel and gingerbread.

Cute picture of the girls bellydancing, and I really like the one with you and the kids!

How scary that you couldn't find Nathan for a few minutes!

Great Epcot update! The detail pics of the WS are gorgeous.

I love all of the little details you just posted! I have no idea where some of those pictures were taken! It's amazing how you can visit the same place over & over and still see something new every time.

Yes you do...like a fun little game remembering where we saw these things :thumbsup2

Just posted some this morning but I need to finish up. :goodvibes

read some more on your TR :surfweb:

thanks! that was the I'm a Disney Logo day...NR had one on too, but she was chilly today so had the sweatshirt on for most of the day

How scary that you couldn't find Nathan for a few minutes!

it was a bit panic striken, he's a smart kid so I wasn't worried he'd be in harm but worried he had wondered off and then how do you find him in those crowds...of course he knew where he was right where I told him to be "sit down and read" ;)

I love all of your Epcot photos.

I'm glad you were able to find Nathan quickly.

thanks Jennifer...just 1 more post of pix to share from here and yes I was glad too!

I love this picture of you and the kids! So nice! :)

I’ll end this EPIC EP post…w/ some pix’s from Illuminations…I have never been the biggest fan of this fireworks show and maybe it’s because we just haven’t found the sweet spot for viewing yet…but this yr matt scored us one great spot. I was most impressed w/ it this time and really happy w/ how well it worked out. We sat at the very front of the Lagoon at the front of WS. Think by those two gift shops. There is an area there they rope off and guests are only allowed in the last minutes before based on safety (wind) well right to the left of that viewing area is another roped off spot where guests can’t be. We were right in front of this spot. We scoped it out an hour ahead (think T-giving crowds too) and were able to sit/lay down and rest, play games…Rachel and I did a word find. Then when it started we could stand up at the rope and no one was in front of us. It also helped to get out of the park easier too.

The CM’s manning the area were real fun too leading in some songs and other fun stuff to pass the time. Now enjoy the pix’s:

:cool1: so ticker news...they may look the same...but they are not...

Can you figure out what is different?

Just earlier this week I booked our next family trip for January 2012  and it is no longer a hopeful trip...but the real deal...plus in updating the ticker and putting in the starting date on our anniversary trip it sliced off a few days...so I am under 8 months for that trip ;)

No PTR's in progress yet...but I am almost done w/ this TR on the Nov 2010 trip and will then promptly start on the anni trip PTR...so stay tuned popcorn::

Yay for new tickers!!

Great Epcot updates! I love touring in the dark - I'm looking forward to doing some on this trip.

Awesome Illuminations spot - I haven't decided where we are going to view it from yet.

Epcot is really cool at night! I love when the lights go out and the fires are burning around the lake right before Illuminations begins. Just gorgeous!

Woohoo for the new ticker!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Love all the Epcot pics. Your Illuminations spot sounds great. I love the show and we've watched from many different spots but not yours, will have to check it out for June.

Woo Hoo for the new ticker!! Nothing like booking a trip to give you a mid-winter boost!

Gotta love when those tickers become reality!!! :woohoo:

We love Illuminations, so I am glad you managed to get a great viewing spot. The music always gives me goosebumps!

after the crazy rough week we have had in our home this week...that lovely new ticker is wonderful! :goodvibes

knew you guys would love it too...

Epcot at night is very cool, unlike the other parks in that large space it actually makes it feel more intimate and yes the Illumination spot matt scored is a MUST do whenever we see this show now. you all should try it sometime :thumbsup2

Even though we all enjoy AK it always seems to have stuff happen to keep us from fully enjoying the park to the max…this trip we dealt w/ wheelchairs and rain. But one of the more exciting memories from our Animal Kingdom tours was the special Dismeet and I had w/ Jillyb and her family. I already posted about so if you want to read again, here it is:

http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=39249342&postcount=78

So let’s get started:

100_7289.jpg

Photo0170FourBySix.jpg

We visited AK two times this trip once for a morning into lunch on Day 3) w/ the Grandparents and then again for a late afternoon just the 6 of us on Day 8). Each of these two visits had some main objectives like the Safari, FotLK and the Jingle Jammin Parade. Holidays were evident in this park too, but nowhere better than in Camp Mickey and Minnie.
They had all these fun little trees displayed up around the Character meet and greet areas.

Matt really enjoys the parade here at the AK, but we never quite get to see it very often, this yr I had planned our days quite perfectly I thought so we could make sure to see it. However Mother Nature wasn’t on our side…

This was Friday Day 8) and we had just come out of the ever usual AMAZING FotLK…

100_8002.jpg

I was singing along and even got teary eyed during the show…just can’t help I love this show. Matt snickered at me.

Anyways it was drizzling out and was apparent as we ventured back to the stroller it had actually DOWNPOURED…everything was soaked. I of course had the ponchos this day and yes we needed to put them on. Like a ton of other guests were trying to figure out how to get reorganized w/ a very wet stroller. After Matt dumped out the water we laid one poncho on the wet stroller, put NR in her little rain jacket and then placed another poncho over her the head opening near her face…it was a bit comical but at least she was dry…she must have been comfy, cause later she feel asleep:

100_8040.jpg

It was not too much longer till parade time so wandered back toward the main hub to see if we could find out if the parade was still going to happen, it was fluctuating between some decent rain and spitting now. As we stopped to find a bit of shelter or for me to take NR to the restroom near the baby Care area. We snapped this pix of the other kids…not to thrilled to be in the rain:

The CM’s kept saying Mickey says the parade is on…so we decided to wait it out…

besides rain usually =crowds leaving.

We ventured out to a little wall where the rope was near by some other guests and chatted w/ them which was nice and then hear it came:

Not sure my pix are in the right order but you’ll get the idea:

We kept wondering why we were only seeing the trucks and float like animals…where were the puppets?

Later once home and reading Jillyb’s TR she saw the parade on a different day in NON Rain…well they certainly cut the parade short, not only in route which we later realized while walking to CMM but the puppet animals are not used in the rain I guess, cause they were all in Jill’s pix and I also learned from her TR they pump snow out in the last truck…we will definitely need to see this parade again in the SUN. But despite the rain we did enjoy ourselves and so did the kids the characters kept coming right up to them:

You can see the poncho clad guests following behind…we decided to do the same and wondered back over to CMM to see if the characters were out I really wanted that Family pose w/ Safari Mickey…

The kids’ frowns in the rain turned into smiles

100_8041.jpg

after the parade and we had some great meet and greets w/ several of the Fab 5. That rain did turn some people away and we were pleasantly surprised to find the characters dressed in Holiday garb instead of the normal Safari clothes…can you believe though at first I was like wait…this wasn’t the pic I wanted or man we’re not dressed right…haha I have posted these before but take another look:

One nice story from AK comes from a CM encounter my MIL had…she was enjoying the plants and flowers quite a bit in the park and liked these red flowers a lot:

IMG_2013.jpg

She really wanted to know what species of plant/flower it was. We stopped by an information kiosk at one point and asked, but the CM’s there weren’t sure but said they’d be happy to find out. Now my MIL usually doesn’t want people to fuss over her or cause anyone to go out of their way, but these CM’s were determined to find out for her. They radioed a few other people and after several minutes got a answer for her. I don’t remember now what it was but a form of the common hibiscus I believe…my mil was quite impressed w/ Disney :goodvibes

Lastly here are just some other random pictures mostly taken on the first day of touring:

Donald and some friends taking a break in the park to do a little fishing…

Bekah enjoying the safari ride:

Naomi-Ruth checking out the “treasures” in the keeper’s room along the Pagani Forest trail…see her w/ the little flashlight trying to see what is in those drawers and wondering why can’t a touch it?

Anybody home?

And some details:

I always leave AK feeling like there was more to do and see…but this was a good trip taking some time to enjoy some things we normally don’t see.

Up NEXT: our Disney Hollywood Studios Experience…
Thanks for reading, J~

I'm sorry the rain put a damper your AK parade day! But it looks like you got some great character interaction. :thumbsup2 We've never seen a parade at AK...

What was the story with the wheelchair? :confused3

The theming at AK is amazing.
The parade looks like fun!
Mickey and Minnie are so cute in their holiday outfits.

Too bad you didn't get to see the whole parade because of the rain.

Looking at your pictures I couldn't help but wonder if Pluto smells like a great big wet dog when he gets rained on during the parade. LOL!
