I had a BLT for Thanksgiving with a little Holiday & Birthday Cheer:NEW END & new PTR

Boo Rain! Looks like you were able to salvage a pretty good day, though! I love the parade at AK...too bad it was shortened for you. The character interaction seems to have made up for it! LOVE the picture of Nathan "high-fiving" Baloo! ;)

I think the theming at AK is some of the best at Disney. :thumbsup2

Your FOTLK pictures are amazing! Mine are never that clear...nice job!

I'm sorry the rain put a damper your AK parade day! But it looks like you got some great character interaction. :thumbsup2 We've never seen a parade at AK...

yes at first I thought the day was going to be a wash...but we lucked out OK...and the characters coming up, never experienced something like that before it was cool

What was the story with the wheelchair? :confused3

Oh yes sorry I realized I didn't retell that part...I mentioned it in the Dismeet part of AK in the previous post. MIL couln't handle the walking and we convienced her to get one...boy a wheelchair and AK just don't work well though...

The theming at AK is amazing.
The parade looks like fun!
Mickey and Minnie are so cute in their holiday outfits.

I agree..the parade was fun...they have a ton of guests in this parade...just how do they get picked :confused3 and aren't they...like a little 'ol couple in their matching sweaters ;)

Too bad you didn't get to see the whole parade because of the rain.

Yes alot was actually taken out...but what we did see was cool

Looking at your pictures I couldn't help but wonder if Pluto smells like a great big wet dog when he gets rained on during the parade. LOL!

:rotfl: and I am thinking how do they get cleaned

those are probably two of the best we have taken...Matt works wonders w/ that little point and shoot

Looks like pretty good days at AK minus the rain. We had a rainy day at AK on our last trip too, it did make for lighter crowds though and we had a great safari in the rain!

Sorry it rained on your parade. :( I remember that day because 1) we saw ya'll at MK that morning :goodvibes and 2) that was the first real rain of the trip. It poured! And it poured for a while! Glad it wasn't a total wash and ya'll had a good time.

I'm up to Thanksgiving day on my TR!

We made it over to the Studios twice this trip for two quick touring sprints…although I had more planned for this park, I was happy w/ what we saw and if one thing besides the Castle in icicles would keep me coming back yr after yr during the Holiday seasons…the Osborne Lights would be it. But before I stun your eyes w/ this amazing spectacular let’s see what else we did at the Studios:

We went here for a few hours in the late morning/early afternoon on Day 3) and then in the evening on Day 5). The crowds were heavy each time we came and it did cause some touring issues. But the first thing we did on that first Studios day was not running w/ the masses to TSM but we meandered over to the Great Movie ride…

100_7528.jpg

as I was checking LINES on my phone riding in on the bus…I was watching the stand-by line for TSM going up fast and the Fast passes being pushed back further into the night…by 10:30 am they were gone…snooze you lose here I guess. But the stand-by for TGMR was a minimal 8 minutes if that. And we only saw a few of the movies in the stand-by queue reel. As we got seated in our moving theatre I was semi quietly chanting “cowboy…cowboy…cowboy…” I stopped when I started getting looks…but you know what it WORKED:

I didn’t take many pictures while we were here, but this is a great one of the twins waiting to board one of our favorite rides:

And of course here is the always must take pix of Matt and I at the NY city backdrop…

A new thing we did as a family was to see the Backlot Tour. Matt and I had done this quite sometime ago before coming w/ kids and is generally not a MUST do for us…but we though we’d give it a try. We were concerned about the wait and crowds and even asked about GAC assistance…but it turned out we didn’t need it (but it is available) After getting up into the waiting area we realized we left Nathan’s sound canceling headphone w/ the stroller but Matt was able to dash back and make it back up the line. The guests around us were very accommodating to us which is always a pleasant relief.

The kids did enjoy all parts of this little show and tour…here are just a few pix’s for you:

The Osborne Lights were just something to see I tell you…as we turned the corner a mob scene of glittering lights and a ton of guests occurred but we were in and trying to take it all in:

No definitely not for sure yet... that's why I'm still hoping & not planning! ;)

We very, very, very rarely get the cowboy too. Here's hoping we're lucky in June!!

The Osborne Lights are simply amazing! Can't wait until we get to see them again, someday.......

I am dying to see the Osbourne Lights! But unfortunately with DS starting middle school, our days of going while school is in session are over. No way I would go during Christmas break. So, I guess that means we wait for the kids to go to college or I convince DH to take a couples trip. I like option 2;)

I love all the glittery and tinsel Christmas decorations at DHS, but those Osborne lights are just gorgeous! Love the picture of all your kids just soaking in the spectacle. It really sums up the whole experience!

I think they one of the best parts of the holiday decorations.

I love the picture of the kids looking at the lights! Definitely go towards park close to see the lights...alot less crowded. Those lights are just stunning!

Hey Julie,
I'm sorry I have been on a little DIS hiatus (self-induced), but have caught up on your TR thanks to your handy links at the beginning.:goodvibes So many wonderful pictures!! It's been a feast for the eyes, and making me so very excited to be there in 42 days! I'm glad you posted a review about Tutto, I really want to go there in October, so hopefully I can convince DH to forgoe the Biergarten.:lmao:

I always love the Osborne Lights. You can always find something different about it every time. It'll be a different experience this year without them.

P.S. Do you have a link to the Spectrum Mom's TR? Is there one?

Sheresa

Oh my goodness! I love Christmas lights....I'd be like a kid in a candy store if I got to see the Osborne lights! GORGEOUS!

Hey,Julie ... finally had a chance to catch up. Rachel, Elizabeth and I loved going through all the photos on the last 5 pages. You got so many terrific family shots for your scrapbooks!
