I had a BLT for Thanksgiving with a little Holiday & Birthday Cheer:NEW END & new PTR

I love the picture of the kids looking at the lights! Definitely go towards park close to see the lights...alot less crowded. Those lights are just stunning!

yes it is a great shot :goodvibes they were stunning!

Hey Julie,
I'm sorry I have been on a little DIS hiatus (self-induced), but have caught up on your TR thanks to your handy links at the beginning.:goodvibes So many wonderful pictures!! It's been a feast for the eyes, and making me so very excited to be there in 42 days! I'm glad you posted a review about Tutto, I really want to go there in October, so hopefully I can convince DH to forgoe the Biergarten.:lmao:

no worries glad to see you back...wow your trip is coming up fast! how is the planning going? :confused3 and please remind what are your Oct dates!

I always love the Osborne Lights. You can always find something different about it every time. It'll be a different experience this year without them.

I bet...I am sure we didn't see every bulb

P.S. Do you have a link to the Spectrum Mom's TR? Is there one?

Sheresa

Yep it is in my siggie...we really have only just begun still on the first night w/ lots to come so hope you check it out...our PB account exceeded bandwith though so it may be till tomorrow when the pics are back up

Oh my goodness! I love Christmas lights....I'd be like a kid in a candy store if I got to see the Osborne lights! GORGEOUS!

it was something to see Missy...any thoughts on your next Disney trip? and hey did you make it to MK yet in your TR  popcorn::

Hey,Julie ... finally had a chance to catch up. Rachel, Elizabeth and I loved going through all the photos on the last 5 pages. You got so many terrific family shots for your scrapbooks!

awesome! glad you enjoyed that...yes I have to decide what and how to scrapbook this trip :thumbsup2

Well I have told almost every story from this trip and have shared over a 1000 pictures, so before I say good bye I want to share one last amazing piece of DISNEY MAGIC w/ you all.

Straws

As you know we celebrated two of our girls birthdays down at Disney on this trip and I wanted to come home w/ little souvies to pass out as B-day treats for each of the girls classes. I knew I didn’t want to do something non edible for Naomi-Ruth (because of her food issues) so we came up w/ the idea of those cute Mickey straws you know the ones I am talking about:

mickeystraw.jpg

So on Day 1) when we were at POP I saw them in the food court near the registers but didn’t want to to deal w/ getting them now, figured I buy them later in the week. Well little did I know how tricky that would prove…but what a magical end would it include as well.

I was also doing a little Disney shopping for a friend of mine and she asked me to pick up a few as stocking stuffers for her kids. I was yet to see those Mickey straws again and now it was Day 10) and time to go…what are we going to do. :confused3

Matt decided while I am finishing packing up our stuff in our room he’ll go down to the Concierges desk at CR to inquire about where we can get them.

DUH news to us you can only get them at Value or Mod resorts…

Matt was downstairs for almost an hour w/ the CM (who was a very nice lady) as she attempted tracking some down…when asked how many we needed I decided to go w/ 30 I knew that was more than enough for NR’s two little classes and for some leftovers. I was prepared to fork out the money for these one dollar wonders.

After the CM tracked them down she sent a runner w/ money $40 (not ours) to go get them and bring them back to CR for us. She said she’d text or call Matt when they arrived. So this was 10 am at this point.

During the time Matt was talking to the CM as she was tracking them down for us, Matt shared a little of our trip and about NR and her food issues plus that she attended a preschool class for special needs classes. You know how friendly the CM’s are…you don’t mind telling them your life story

Matt had made his way back up to our room and we were getting ready to go check–out and get situated w/ airline services…it was now 11:30 am. We had not heard anything from the Concierges and were getting worried this just wasn’t going to happen. :sad2:

As I finished dealing w/ our luggage, Matt went back into CR to see what the deal was. He came back out 10 minutes later w/ a huge bag of STRAWS

Before we left the room, we decided we MUST tip the CM who was helping us at the Concierge desk and of course the runner too, besides obviously paying for the straws.

Well…not only did the CM refuse to accept the tip for herself or the runner, but they gave us the straws for FREE….yes you read that correctly FREE…. $40.00 worth of straws… :worship: :cool1:

I was absolutely floored when Matt told me this I just couldn’t believe it…but then again, how could I not…after all we are at DISNEY!!!! pixiedust:

Those straws were given to 2 classes at NR’s school, plus to my friends kids and some of her friend’s little kids and we gave straws to the 10+ kids in our small group through church and I still have a bunch leftover…what FUN!

It was the BEST way ever to end a trip to Disney on a super high note…

Stay tuned as I say good bye and recap some of our favorite moments J~

What a GREAT story and an amazing way to end your trip! Those CMs can spread the magic like nobody's business! :thumbsup2 It's those little things that keep us coming back for more!

Now that's what Disney is all about!! Spreading the magic like that, that's why we go back year after year! How did NR's class like their straws?:goodvibes

My October dates are the 16th-21st. We are staying in a two bedroom at AKV, savannah view!! So so excited about that.:hyper: I have already prepared my DH's cousin and family to pick out some restaurants that they would like to eat at (we're getting the DDP) becaue I have to make our ADR's in a few weeks! Other than that, not too much planning. I'm waiting on information about F&W at Epcot to come out, as well as the MNSSHP dates (I really really hope we'll be there for it!!). Have you started planning your 15th Anniversary trip yet?

That was so incredibly sweet of the CM to not only track down the straws for you, but to give them to your free! Wow!

It's wonderful that you've been able to share that Disney magic with so many other people!

That is a wonderful story about the straws. What a great way to end a wonderful trip.

Hi Julie.... Got the chance to catch up tonite :thumbsup2 I LOVED the Mad Hatter pics, what a hoot!

How awesome of the CMs to make that magic happen for you at the end of your trip. That is totally the difference between a vacation and a Disney vacation. :wizard:

What a great story about the straws! :goodvibes You are probably smarter than me, but don't toss your straws in the dishwasher (which is what I did one night without thinking). They come completely undone from the cute Mickey shape. We need to go back just to buy more. LOL!

I look forward to seeing that PTR!! You've got a family vacation planned a month or two after that, don't you??

100_7750.jpg

Was amazing, couldn’t have asked for a better view or experience to “christen” this new part of our WDW experience. All that space and great proximity to our favorite park MK and the exclusive access to the monorail just couldn’t be beat…can’t wait to stay at our home again

BBB for the girls

Photo0059FourBySix.jpg

Despite NR not actually loving it, the girls just looked beautiful having the custom made gowns for the older girls and cute clippies just really made for some magical moments on our first morning at MK.

Birthdays

100_8114-1.jpg

This was one of the biggest reasons we went and from finding the special cupcakes for NR and planning special meals for each of the girls…I just loved celebrating these special little ladies at our happy place. NR just can’t stop talking about going back for her birthday.

Pirate’s League

Photo0203FourBySix.jpg

Nathan just loved this special treat all to himself and had such fun being made up into a “real” pirate. He had a blast. ARRGH!

Holiday lights

100_7429.jpg

If anything leaves a lasting impression for me from this trip it has to be the lights and especially Cinderella castle I have never seen it so beautiful. From every nook and cranny there was a hint and glimmer of that Disney holiday magic, it brings a smile to my face just thinking of it.

Family time

100_7675.jpg

100_7240.jpg

What more can I ask for but time away w/ family, my husband and children…the real life isn’t always a piece of cake and we just love to plan and have fun getting ready for Disney and just enjoying ourselves like kids in the candy store while we are here. If Disney is there…we’ll keep coming back and back…hope you will too.

The end…

What a great ending to a wonderful tr!

thanks ladies...I just read my ending again and it has me all in smiles...I love me some great Disney fun :goodvibes

thank you so much for reading along....Jennifer for your invaluable advice at the begining stages of this trip in re to BLT and kathy as alwasy as true friend and confident in not just Disney but all things

Great ending Julie! What a great story about the straws....that's what makes Disney so special and magical and why we all love it so much!

As far as my upcoming trips......we sat down and really looked at the next few years. Dan is in 10th grade so the time is fleeting. :sad2: Jeff REALLY wants to take the boys on a cruise since we enjoyed ours so much last spring. I agreed that we would do that on our next vacation and put Disney on the back burner...for now. With the home improvements we need to do this spring, we were really thinking a cruise would not fit the budget until 2012 and at that point maybe we could do a land/sea thing with both Disney and the cruise. BUT...we found a great sale via Carnival and decided to take the plunge and book a 4 day cruise from Port Canaveral to the Bahamas this November! YAY! Of course, leaving from that port will require AT LEAST a trip to DTD and a meal at one of the resorts to fill my Disney addiction! So....all that being said....IF this trip happens (cancellation is still a possibility if the roof/siding go way over budget), our next Disney trip will be spring of 2013...the year Dan graduates. ;)

UGH....my Trip Report! I hate leaving things unfinished. I plan to get back there this week and update on life events and get to our MK day...finally! I hope I haven't lost all of my readers, but I'm going to finish it anyway! Thanks for being patient! :goodvibes
