Happy New Year to everyone too....

We have started out the morning w/ pancakes and sausage and eating breakfast in the living room while watching the Three Stooges ....well I was actually Dising

Getting ready for my new trip coming up in just under 20 days now

Had lots to be thankful for in 2010:

* a wonderful Wedding of my brother Dan and sil Angie

* Matt having a successful surgery to repair spinal damage in his neck

* the twins turing 11

* My parents celebrating 40 yrs of marriage and a successful surprise dishwasher install in their home

* the twins finishing Grammer school and 5th grade

* summer camps for the first time for the twins

* finally getting an IEP for Nathan and his school

* Rachel almost mastering a 2-wheeler

* feeling in control of Naomi-Ruth's excema and severe food issues

* Rachel completing a great 1st grade yr

* The twins having a good start to Middle School

* me getting a small job

* lots of winter trips-WDW, Chicago weekend, and Vegas

Can't wait to see what is instore in 2011

I haven't been on the DIS in forever....I had to catch up on all your awesome TR posts! Love the Vegas updates. Jeff and I went in 2008 for the first time. I agree that I wouldn't go with kids and was surprised at how many kids I saw there. We didn't manage to win any cash either! LOL!

Your trip is sounding great! Love all the souvenirs and DISmeet updates! HDDR sounds fun...we haven't given that a try yet. So funny about Grandpa getting chosen! What a good sport!

Can't wait to hear more!

Hmm, wonder what your best ever sandwich is. I know mine would be from EOS, especially their holiday sandwich!

Back to Day 1 of our trip (Fri Nov 19th)...after checking into Pop, eating lunch, swimming, and cleaning up...Matt and I got food from the food court for the kids to bring back to the room where MP's would watch them while watching TS3 on Matt's laptop in our rooms.

So Matt and I could go off for the night....

Our objectivies:

* Go to the Marketplace

* Get our AP's (had pre-purchased before we left)

* Pick up my Disney Reward card

* Do a little shopping

and

* Eat Dinner....

we left the kids in good hands and headed over to the buses about 7 pm...I was worried we might have to wait awhile for a bus...but we had some good Disney luck this night as a bus was right there we took a jog and got on board.

After arriving we headed straight to Guest Services and head to wait in line for just a bit before we were helped by the nicest CM, we had fun talking to her. With our new AP's in hand and my DRC we walked into the shops and to TrenD...

I have to thank Matt for enduring this girly shop w/ me. I picked up several of my first purchases there. It was so fun to look around in there and I just loved the ceiling:

then it was on to EOS to eat...I knew this is where I wanted to eat, as I LOVE their sandwiches here and way back at the beginning of our planning irish dancer (Anne Marie) told me about the Holiday turkey sandwich...it sounded so divine...really

There we were in line:

this isn't the Holiday sandwich but you get the point

and it was like the sandwich was calling our names....

"eat me Julie and Matt"

well we did

this was one great sandwich...if you are ever there during the holiday season...get one you won't be disappointed.

It was warm turkey, stuffing w/ gravy and a cranberry sauce in a toasted bun/roll....

some major YUM FUN going on here...

It was so filling and yummy I didn't have room for my half of the chocolate dessert.

We ate outside and this was our view:

this tree was great, one of my favorites of the trip...those were actual lite brites in there

After our most delicous dinner, we headed off to find the GF/DF/EF bakery that both Hedy and MRYPPNS (Heidi) had told me about...

we did find it babycakes inside the new Chicken place just down from WOD...

I was so over joyed to be able to treat our daughter Naomi-Ruth to some yummy cupcakes for her birthday the next day...this was some great pixie dust

we bought 4 scrumptous cupcakes (and you know I was thrilled considering how pricey it was about $20)

Matt carried our precious cargo as we wound our way through WOD as I picked up a few more things for Rachel for her birthday later that week and a few other souvenirs and gifts.

It was now nearing 9 pm and we needed to get back...and there was that Disney luck again...a bus back to POP was right there...we had to run, but made it!

Up NEXT: Turning 4 at WDW....

Oh, yum, my stomach is just growling away at the idea of that holiday sandwich! It sounds scrumptious!

How awesome that you were able to get cupcakes for Naomi-Ruth! Pixie dust for sure! Did you try a bit of them? How were they? We don't have any food allergies that would necessitate a visit there, but I am intrigued by cupcake shops in general.

that Trend-D store is so cute! I wanted to spend some time in there looking around but my girls weren't really interested. Good for Matt to let you shop!

Oh, I wish I knew about that holiday sandwich they had. We ate at the new chicken place and it was good but your sandwich sounds yummy!

Yes, forgot to mention the cupcakes. How were they?

When we stopped by they had a sample of their banana bread ... and it wasn't really good..maybe it had been sitting out too long but it was just kinda tasteless and heavy.

I was going to buy a cupcake but after trying that sample, said no way!

Oh, did you see the "icing shots!" Now I do love me some icing ... and was way tempted to try one of those...
