Souvenirs

So why wait till the very end of the trip to tell you what we all got…let’s share it now…becuase I know that is what you all really want to know!

To keep tabs better on the souvie buying from us to the kids, the kids and Christmas/birthdays I made up little gift coupons for the 4 kids. One was for a trading pin (purchased) and the other $10 toward a purchase at Mouse Gear.

Plus I used my phone Word app and kept a running list of what we had hoped to buy and marked it DONE as I went along.

The other great thing was the kids all had g/c…the girls had $ for their birthdays and the twins had saved g/c they received from their birthday in the Spring plus got an early Christmas present from my parents in g/c too. And when traveling w/ Grandparents they are always willing to buy something too. (Nathan also had some of his own money)

I felt we did pretty good on keeping the buying down and still to what lists/funds we had…but you know you always spend more than you originally think…epecially since we were doing Christmas shopping too.

Let’s look at the piles:

Up NEXT: Our Disney Thanksgiving and a HDDR Angel...

Wow, what a fantastic haul!:thumbsup2 I really love the parasols you can get in China. My sister and I got one each last year, and I love it! Bekah's blue scarf is fantastic, I hope they still have those when we go in April. Must have wristlet! Too cute!

I love the Vegas pictures! I want to go there someday but it won't be until my kids are grown. I'm not interested in taking kids there either. My brother has been a few times and tries to tell me it's a great place for kids but I'm not taking his word for it since he has never had kids.

Looks like you got some great souvenirs too! I especially love the Dooney! I bought a Dooney purse back in March and have used it tons and gotten quite a few compliments on it too.

Great pics of all the loot. Everyone got some great souvies. LOVE, LOVE the patchwork jammies and thermal top. Hmmm, I need new jammies for our Jan trip wonder if I could call and have them shipped......

Great souvies!!

I love the parasols -- they are so pretty! The blue scarf is neat too.

I love all the princess stuff. We got Rachel the Minnie Mouse polly pockets and my parents are getting her Belle.

I saw those princess skirts and thought that makes so much sense -- not as big and bulky or expensive as the full dresses! I actually bought two of them and will give them to my girls for our May trip. I got Rachel Minnie Mouse and Elie Belle's skirts.

I love your wristlet! I was soooo tempted to get one during our trip but decided not to ... then Disney had their Black Friday sale with % off plus $15 makeup bag ... and I caved!

You know I am all about piles of Disney souvenirs!!! Love all of them, but I am especially lusting after that Dooney and Bourke wristlet. That may need to be my treat on the next trip! Those Christmas pajamas are very cute, too!

Bekah's blue scarf is fantastic, I hope they still have those when we go in April.

we saw them all over and plenty of guests wearing them too, they had lots of colors too plus B & W combo. I really like mine too

I love the Vegas pictures! I want to go there someday but it won't be until my kids are grown. I'm not interested in taking kids there either. My brother has been a few times and tries to tell me it's a great place for kids but I'm not taking his word for it since he has never had kids.

thanks...yes it is NOT kid friendly...sure there are kid themed shows in a few of the places and arcades (that are smoking free)...but seriously :confused3 my bro and sil LOVE going there and are early expecting and wouldn't bring kids there.

Looks like you got some great souvenirs too! I especially love the Dooney! I bought a Dooney purse back in March and have used it tons and gotten quite a few compliments on it too.

I have been eying them online and seeing pics on the threads...so there was a night that just my oldest DD and I were out and did some shopping :rolleyes1

Great pics of all the loot. Everyone got some great souvies. LOVE, LOVE the patchwork jammies and thermal top. Hmmm, I need new jammies for our Jan trip wonder if I could call and have them shipped......

Oh you should! I found the bottoms in a few places like Emporium and the gift shop in CR (that's where I actually bought them) but got the top in the Emporium. The pants I got in a med and are plenty roomy w/ some length (they are not cheap) and the top I did a M too.

Love your souvenir photos. You got lots of great stuff. The parasols are so nice!

I am happy w/ what we bought this trip and didn't over spend too much, was nice all the kids had g/c too...as I am such a sucker for Disney souvenirs

Great souvies!!

thanks!

I love the parasols -- they are so pretty! The blue scarf is neat too.

they are so lovely...Matt is going to hang them from the ceilings in their rooms and Bekah (and I) really like our new fancy scarves

I love all the princess stuff. We got Rachel the Minnie Mouse polly pockets and my parents are getting her Belle.

we enjoy the Princess "pollys" too...I saw the Minnie one too, I thought that was fun, there was also a Prince one that I thought was neat

I saw those princess skirts and thought that makes so much sense -- not as big and bulky or expensive as the full dresses! I actually bought two of them and will give them to my girls for our May trip. I got Rachel Minnie Mouse and Elie Belle's skirts.

Yes the one she go is a little large in the waist so we still need to pinch the waist in a bit but she wants to wear it to school w/ leggings :thumbsup2

I love your wristlet! I was soooo tempted to get one during our trip but decided not to ... then Disney had their Black Friday sale with % off plus $15 makeup bag ... and I caved!

oohh...good for you!

You know I am all about piles of Disney souvenirs!!! Love all of them, but I am especially lusting after that Dooney and Bourke wristlet. That may need to be my treat on the next trip! Those Christmas pajamas are very cute, too!

Yes the D&B was my fun-SPLURGE buy...luckily after Matt found out how much it was he didn't give me a hard time...just likes to tease me  now when he comes home w/ a $$$ toy I better not ....kwim

and I am looking forward to wearing my new jammies this Friday night

What great souveniers! I am coveting your PJs! I've seen them on disneyshopping.com and saw them in several gift shops while we were there. I was tempted many times to buy a pair and didn't. I'm having non-buyers remorse!

Thanksgiving ….

Now before the next Holiday comes and goes…I figured it would be best to tell you about our tale of a Disney Thanksgiving….

100_7841.jpg

T-giving was Day 7 for us on Thurs the 25th…we started out our day in our wonderful villa w/ a little sleep in and then got ready to go see Mickey and Gang at Chef Mickey’s for our morning breakfast ADR!

This ADR came to be when I was making our original choices back in May and realized I couldn’t book a Candlelight Processional Dinner pkg yet…so since that was a 2-credit meal we picked 2 stand-by meals…but by the time it came to book the other thing we opted to keep our CM’s adr and we were glad. We haven’t been to CM’s since our 2005 trip.

We arrived just after 9:15 am after our short walk over (and I gave my new D&B purse a test run: camera, cell, lip gloss, room key…all good!)

We had a short wait to check-in and went right over to take our customary pix (which I knew I probably wouldn’t buy) and had a nice table off to the side of the buffet. The characters were already in our section so we waited to get food till after they came and said hi to us.

100_7852.jpg

you can see the cute Turkey hair clippies Becky made (1 in Rachel's hair)...we got many compliments on these during the day

100_7853.jpg

I just how everywhere you looked something was decorated for the Holidays

Goofy was first to arrive and just sat right on down at our table and after he signed his little autograph card he grabbed NR’s bib and proceeded to sign that too…which we all thought was funny. We had to have everyone else sign it now.

100_7856.jpg

100_7857.jpg

Then Minnie, Mickey, and Pluto came too (and duh I forgot Pluto’s autograph card in the room)

100_7860.jpg

100_7864.jpg

100_7866.jpg

100_7867.jpg

We next got our yummy food! I really enjoy this buffet. I had some great tasting oatmeal w/ brown sugar & dried fruit, plus a plate of more options. We all enjoyed our meal and NR even got her own plate of GF Mickey waffles and fruit too.

Here is Naomi-Ruth enjoyed some grapes w/ grape jelly

100_7870.jpg

100_7873.jpg

100_7876.jpg

100_7878.jpg

We were nearing being done eating and we still hadn’t seen Donald (but we knew he was here)…the waitress tracked him down and we waited since we were not in a rush. While we were waiting, at a table to the side and behind us, I happened to notice something odd….then I realized a teenage boy was getting  The Mom seemed to be helping him and then they just left…w/ truly no apparent telling any of the staff or even apologizing to the guests at the tables right next to them.

I felt bad for this kid…but then was angry…come on people! The guests closest to that table had barely begun and then had to leave (I don’t blame them)…when we saw the wait staff come to clear the table…they clearly had no idea what was there till they…well you know.

We eventually told someone ourselves and one CM came out and covered the table w/ a tablecloth while we saw a manager come out and speak to other guests nearby. Eventually other CMs came w/ a huge garbage can and everything went in.

We thanked them.

So after that gross display…

Donald made it over to us and we got some pix’s and his #1 signature too.

100_7880.jpg

100_7879.jpg

We left our tip in one of the kids’ decorated envelopes and our CM waitress was very appreciative, commenting she had never received something so sweet before.

we took a cute pix of the kids by this sweet tree in the waiting area (which was empty)

100_7881.jpg

Up next in our T-giving day was some shopping in the gift shops at CR (which you saw in my last post)

After that, we went back to the room (oh I almost forgot…we took some fruit from the buffet in a doggie bag)….got changed into swimsuits and headed down to the pool for the afternoon.

We had a fun time going on the slides, making some friends and just relaxing…now I didn’t actually go in the water but it was still fun to be in a swimsuit outside on Thanksgiving day

100_7888.jpg

100_7886.jpg

100_7890.jpg

My Mom had called me when we were down there and as I answered by saying “Happy Thanksgiving, were at the pool what are you doing?” it was cold and a little sleety that day back home.

Some of the girls checked out the little beach area behind the pool too.

100_7892.jpg

100_7893.jpg

Nathan was getting tired of being down there and NR was looking chilly…the sun had moved behind the building at this point and we debated moving to the CR pool, but then opted to send Nathan up and Matt took NR up to shower and take a nap before our dinner ADR.

I stayed down w/ the older girls for a little bit longer for the pool party that some CMs were putting on. Bekah went up before me and followed some other guests in the doors (since you need a key) and Rachel & I stayed down to play a music trivia game. Out of 10 questions plus a bonus we got only 3 wrong…I was quite proud of our teamwork.

Once back up to the room, I was dealing w/ some packing and laundry as the kids got cleaned up. We ended up leaving late to catch a water ferry over to the WL for our WCC dinner ADR and arrived about 20-30 min late.

IMG_2175.jpg

We had to wait about ½ hour. It was packed and very busy there. I was sorta surprised by the amount of guests arriving or leaving while we waited that were quite dressed up.

IMG_2177.jpg

IMG_2179.jpg

The kids were getting impatient and it was getting hard to wait, but finally our buzzer went off and we had a decent tabled near the windows. We quickly got served and I talked to the chef about Naomi-Ruth.

The food came fast and was plenty good we all enjoyed the offerings. However I think the kids were just a bit tired and getting restless…so the noise of the place was starting to bother them. Rachel said “there is no whispering going on here”

(OK I know I have some more pix's from here...have to look and repost)

We did need to ask for ketchup once and the guest who brought it to us brought a baby too…it was funny. We in turn ran the ketchup to another guest later during the meal.

Another odd-rude guest moment occurred at a table next to us. This family of 4 was seated and had drink orders taken by our CM waitress and Matt had overheard a girl probably 12 yrs old. Huff that she was offended to be given a coloring sheet. Shortly after…they just got up and left…when the CMs came to bring the salad and bread they didn’t know what to think.

It was right after that that Bekah and Rachel were excused to use the restroom and NR ran off after them…I had just taken a big bite of food so Matt went after her first. (I think Nathan was in the restroom too)…so I quickly told our CM about it so she didn’t think we were ditching out either.

After our dinner we headed back to CR and luckily caught the ferry right away. The Pocahontas movie outside had just begun, so we were able to find some chairs and sat outside enjoying the movie.

It was a very nice and overall relaxing time spent!
