My best friend at school is Armando. He and I are basically twins. We have pretty much the same personality, similar likes and dislikes, and the way we interact is just so natural. Like he'll come up to me, smack me in the shoulder, and I'll fight right back. It's just so easy between us.

The weird thing is, he's basically the PERFECT guy for me. Like, if we dated, we would be perfect for eachother. Everything about him is my "dream guy". He's athletic (he swims every morning), he loves to watch football, he knows how to have a good time but he'll be serious if the time calls for it, and he's just a goofball. But he's still such a sweetheart and he always looks out for the people he cares about.

So, why am I not in love with him??? It's so weird for me. I mean I develop crushes on guys so easily, it's almost embarrassing. So why is this one different?

So anyway, has anyone else experienced this? Have you ever thought you knew exactly what you wanted, and when you got it, you weren't really interested?

I've only known him for a couple weeks though. I didn't meet him until early November, and we've been hanging out ever since.

That's true. I definitely don't want my exact twin as a boyfriend, but it's just everything that I have been attracted to in a guy, Armand has. Athletic, sense of humor, goofy, playful, amazing personality, great hair...

i've got a best guy friend too. it started out, actually, with me having a crush on him, but those feelings turned into a brother/sister relationship. i like it better that way.

It seems like you are just playful with each other in a friendly way. From what you wrote, it seems like you guys don't really add in a romantic vibe - like flirting (with intentions) or talking to each other the way you would to a crush. This always seemed to me to be what put people in the "friend zone"...when two people become solid friends with no other connections.

okay this might help and it might not. but like ohdisco (sorry i dont know your name) said you might just be easing into it without realizing it. thats what i did with my current boyfriend. we started out the exact way that you are describing and i just grew to love him and it becomes easier to see him in a different light once you start to know the romantic side of him. now me and my bf have been happily dating for just over 4 months. sometimes its hard to agree because we know eachother so well and we are so similar, but its nice to have someone that knows exactly what you like and what you need/want. maybe your feeling will develop and maybe not. either way it sounds like you have a great friend

Long story short, I'm mostly the same with my guy friend. We have a lot in common, and he's so perfect for me, and we both like each other, and we're basically twins. But it's because of how close we are that I'm realizing (after him telling me this) that we probably will only be really good friends.
