I GOT ROFRed!

Well - I didn't but with the change in price of sold-out resorts from DVC and some postings from DISers that have had ROFR exercised after such a long spell where it seemed everything was going through, I thought it might be good to start a thread to collect data so that people looking at resales might be able to get a picture of what is going on.

You're the 3rd one whose posted today with the disappointing news. We currently have a VWL contract at Disney for the ROFR process and are getting more than a bit nervous!

Just wish Disney would have let any reasonable contracts that are currently "on the table" go through!

It will be interesting to see how this develops...

I'm thinking that the cost for SSR will go up shortly too.....

Maybe I'm nuts...

Anyone on the fence for SSR might want to consider getting the contract before the next shoe drops...

Well I haven't yet but by the sounds of things happening on the other thread I am not going to hold my breath on it going through.

Last year, we purchased BWV. During our first attempt, Disney bo't the points which was a real disappointment. We ended up purchasing two smaller point packages and paying two closing costs! I think we paid $2 - $3 more per point, too. (Yes, they saw us comin'!) But, all in all, we've really enjoyed DVC and have not regretted our decision. We do miss AKL, tho, and eat at Boma's every trip.

Actually if you re-read Ron's post you will see that he said he DIDN'T get ROFR exercised, he was just posting this to see if others have. I think it's a relatively small recent phenomenom, but I guess we'll have to keep our eyes open and see.

We did on a 150 BWV contract at 73.25 a point buyer was to pay closing and all MF's were paid previously by seller.

What Points came with the contract that they exercised ROFR as far as banked, borrow and current?

It had 52 or so banked points and all of current use year points.

FYI, my guide called me today (as I am an "on the fence about SSR" person) to let me know that price had gone up on sold out properties. THAT is why the ROFRs aren't going through. I know he wants me to buy thru DVC, but he said that the resales will start disappearing within the next couple of months.

He had mentioned before that DVC "might" be getting into resales. Hmmm....
