My big box'o papers came yesterday. And in it was the lovely DVC backpack thingy. Question for you? How do you plan on using yours and what is the bottom section for?

(For those of you who haven't gotten it yet, it is dark blue canvas with a brown (plether?) flap and trim. Cool side zip section to get into the main part w/o unbuckling the flappy thingy. And there is a seperate bottom zippered section that has a little padding. Any ideas?

Isn't it a great feeling?!?! We joined in Oct. and just added on at the BCV! I'm so excited!! We didn't get out papers yet, we just made the phone call this last week.
Pat and I hope to have a DVC mini-meet at the convention this year. Won't that be cool?

I got mine last week. I like to take a backpack to work, so I plan on putting my tv dinner (lean cuisine) in the bottom section so it doesn't melt on everything.

If I took it to WDW, I'd put damp clothing there, or food that I put in a doggy bag or zip loc. I tend to be unable to eat all the food served, so I bring zip loc bags to put the leftovers in. The little zippered part on the bottom will keep it separate from the other stuff in the backpack. Or, I could put a guide book there. Easy access and it won't get all wrinkled up.

I just put my Fed Ex in the mail today. Had to wait for Stephen to get home from his mission trip to sign the papers. Woo Hoo, I am so excited inkbounc !!!

Yes, only new members get them!! I was really annoyed about this because we bought a LOT of points at BCV even though we already own at OKW. DH protested very politely to our guide and we did receive a backpack. I agree that giving these gifts for small add-ons is not needed but when a member buys a significant number of points in a new resort, I'd think we could get a little gift too!

WOW!! DVC Lady, you are a lucky duck!! We've done two add-ons at OKW and one at BWV and never received anything extra--we never asked for anything either! All we have is our original tote bag which is now over 9 years old and getting a bit worn. I really felt we deserved another tote bag/backpack and I'm am really happy we got it. Believe me, I don't feel like a cry baby!!

Wow, DVCLady, you are lucky. I think they did a great job for you. I don't care what welcome gifts we get, as long as they're consistent. Everyone should get the same things for the same reason. ie. points or add-on's That way everyone's happy.
We just added on a BVC and I wasn't expecting anything. So if something does come, it will be a nice surprise.

We did our original purchase of 600 points at BCV on Feb 5, we received the backpack, 2 pens and the print. We then did a 200 point add on at BCV a month later and I didn't expect anything, we recevied the backpack and the print, but no pens.

Got the backpack with the BCV 150 point purchase (and Litho and luggage tag)

W/ 50 point VWL just got Litho.

I think that they should give you something (tote bag) etc. when you add on 150 points or more!!!!!But for 50, the Litho was nice.

We got our box of papers/ backpack and LItho on Friday of last week too - took less than 5 days to get everything from when we put the deposit down.

But, we decided to add 10 points for a grand total of 210 (7 free nights instead of just 5), so our guide is resending the documents to us..

Isn't it EXCITING!??!?!?!

We were already owners at VWL and just added on an additional 150 points at VWL. We received a litho and backpack.
