I went there today to get a few things and when I got to the register, the cashier asked me for my birthdate, so I told her and saw on the screen that it said "must be 18 or older to purchase this item" I asked her what I had bought that needed this and she said WHITE OUT!?!?!? :confused3

What is up with that? Not like I can paint graffiti on a wall or SNIFF it! And not just ANY White Out, it was one of those roller thingies.

Now, can ANYONE enlighten me as to WHY someone would need to be carded to buy WHITE OUT?

Because you CAN sniff it.....

I have no idea, I've never heard of that one before? :earseek: Maybe the cashier had been sniffing too much white out? :earseek:

Well, I guess somebody's been sniffing too much of it and voila - it's regulated by Walmart.

I got "carded" there for buying Estes rocket engines.

You gotta be kidding .......

Thats such a joke.

No joke, and I buy this stuff weekly and this is the first I have been carded! I just looked at the cashier and said "I am NOT going there" and she said "thank you"

Apparently she thought it was just as stupid as I did.

Yup, you can sniff White-Out.

I got stopped at Kroger buying canned Redi-whip whipped cream. It seems teenagers will snort just about anything. :crazy2:

Whip-its :earboy2:

Spray paint.

You can get carded for spray paint too. They spray it into a rag, and sniff the fumes coming off. I belive it's called "huffing".

Anything that is dissolved in a solvent that gives off fumes is pretty much fair game, and will give you enough brain damage to feel high.

My husband got carded the other day at Wal-Mart buying canned air to clean out the keyboard!

its not just teenagers!

That is EXACTLY right! In fact, it is older people who come up with this crap and kids pick it up and pass it on to others. It is a VICIOUS cycle!

Also, kids don't have to buy most of what they get their fingers on because it is all at HOME! DAH!

Walmart has been doing this for years. When I was 13, I needed whit out and they wouldn't let me buy it so my best friend's mom had to buy it for me.

Well, not here in Dallas. I've never been carded for buying anything in the way of white out, spray paint, ect.

well do you look over 18?

Well sure, but even when I worked at Home Depot last year, I was never advised to card people for buying it.

I got carded for Glue but never white out. Amazing !

I understand that there are things that they card for, even movies and CDs, fine, but white out? Especially since I buy it quite often. So it just shocked me that they did it this time, but never before. Maybe all the other cashiers just thought it was stupid and by-passed it, lol.
