Apparently you ( and by YOU I mean all of you engaging in this passtime ) are incapable of enjoying your victory unless you go out of your way to rub it in to the losers? As you know in the history of civilization there are different periods…and yes on this great dis-civilization we have our own periods. I will give you the low down on the 2 periods I saw on the DIS in the last year or so. (IMO)

It started out with the “blue” period and the “blue” period pretty much carried the whole year. There was a time in June when the “blue” period gave way to the “F 9/11” period. But alas the “F 9/11” period only lasted a month or so (like MM’s career)…than it was back to the “blue” period.

The “blue” and “F 9/11” periods were very crude and savage times here on the DIS. (even more savage then the “EROS death penalty” period)(God how I long for the “corn” and “emu” periods) DISer’s who were long time friends were suddenly bitter enemy’s. DISer’s actually left the CB in disgust. (why when one DISer tried to bring peace back to the CB..by saying “don’t forget it’s all about the MOUSE”..he was told to SHOVE IT! (ala Theresa Kerry)

DISer’s ripped into OUR president left and right. Why we even had some foreign DISer’s slapping OUR president’s and US in the face. What was really sad is that a lot of the “blue” team jumped right on the bash OUR president band wagon. (I thought we were ALL American’s first… hmmm..) What’s up with that? Yes we all are entitled to our opinions (after all this is America) but if a non-American is bashing us..DON’T SIT BACK AND TAKE IT! The “blue” and the “red” teams should have beat back those outside attacks together as ONE ..and then after it was crushed…resume the in-fighting.

Then just when the “blue” period looked like it was going to be around for 4 years…a unassuming little POLL appeared on the CB. It was started by palmtreegirl it was so simple..just a few words.. “If the election was held today who would you vote for?” .

The POLL was the Rosetta stone of the CB. The “blue” team will finally get to see that the CB is really “blue”, the proof that the CB was going through a “blue” period now and forever. (well at least for the next 4 years). Generations of future DISer’s would look back at that POLL and see that the CB was truly “blue”.

Where the heck were the damm “red” DISer’s during all of the “blue” period? Oh there were one or two very brave DISer’s who fought the good fight against the “blue” tide. ..but they were usually bullied into submission… most of the time. Over whelmed by the “blueness” of it all…having no reserves they often had to retreat and regroup for awhile.

Ahhh but wait the numbers started to come in…WHAT could it be… Bush was leading in the POLL..it could NOT be!! From reading all of those “blue” threads for the past year..how in the world could Bush be ahead? This puzzled even the greatest “blue” minds. (however few there are ) It must have been some kind of unexplained bounce a fluke. (like the Red Sox wining the world series ) Hmmm did the Diebold company write the DIS web software..that had to be it? No or was Pete getting kick backs to “rig” the POLL? (hey he lives in Florida...hmmm) Why I even heard talk of pregnant chads being involved!

The POLL numbers kept coming in..the final count out of 355 votes was:

Kerry – 132 – 37.18 %
Bush - 211 – 59.44 %
Undecided – 8 – 2.25%
Other – 4 – 1.13%

WOW! BUSH WON! Forget about the Weekly Reader results this was an earth shattering event! Stop the presses! Then right after the DIS CB POLL came out Bush came out of the GOP convention with a nice bounce..and it was not a fluke. (even though many “blues” harped on and on that it was) By George.. I don’t think OUR president ever lost the lead after that..in any national POLL..how could he…after all the DIS POLL was THE official POLL….forget about AP, CNN, GALLUP..etc (OK so the weekly reader poll was right since 1956..that’s a pretty good track record..don’t you think?)

All of a sudden I noticed the “red” team venturing out of the closet. The POLL being anonymous really showed the CB’s true “color”.Quite a few anti-blue threads started to pop up. ( a “red” revolution perhaps?)Why I was even responsible for a few..remember my “would someone throw the Kerry campaign a life preserver”, or the ever popular “can you afford to live like Kerry”, or the “Kerry flip-flop” or the annoying “ Should Kerry apologize to OUR president” thread?

I must say the “red” team never did get up enough steam to officially change the “blue” period here on the CB to a “red” one..but I think the November 2 presidential election did that. After all the RED team won..and don’t forget “blues”…. coming close to winning is only good in horse shoes…

So to get back to the original reason for me writing this …(and seeing that I broke f the pop daddy rule)

IMHO I think the “red” team does have quite the right to boast and brag for at least a while..after all we took the “blue-****” for almost a whole year now.

Viva la “red” revolution... and my thanks to the “red” DISer’s who really took a lot of crap during the last year. For those “reds” who posted during the “blue” period thank you. YOU deserve to give it right back YOU earned it! (but give it back in a nice way as not to break any DIS CB guild lines)

Insert BIG bush ad here! (to the chagrin of the “blues”)


PS – if Kerry won I would have supported him 100% …he would have been OUR president.

I know it sounds cliche but cant be all just get along. Bush won Im over it, I dont need you people rubbing it in constantly. Its kinda getting crazy. Hey isnt this stupid, nastiness why we lost the debate the board???

Come on people we have serious problems, and we need to all start acting like adults and more importantly work together to build a better for future for all of us.

Maybe I didn't read the CB much, but I'm lost trying to follow the different "blue" and "red" periods of the Dis.

Charlie, most people who voted for Kerry do accept Bush as the President. I mean, what else can we do? We held an election and Bush won. I really don't see too many sour grapes here. I do see people reacting to the "HA HA LOSERS" mentality you seem to have taken on though. The history of "reds" and "blues" on the Dis just doesn't seem to justify that behavior, but it is a free country (for now ) and if it makes you feel better, go for it.
