I find the repeated use of the word "yummy" hilarious!

Maybe I'll use that as a dining report thread title....I call dibs!

Glad ya caught the reference Ms Brenda ! (love your reports btw)

I say scrummy and, yes, it's childish - but, as Brenda says, when you're describing something like an ice cream sundae or dessert then only yummy or scrummy will do :)

Who cares what kind of language people are using (as long as it's not offensive). Many of us take the time to write reviews to help others and don't expect anything in return.

I wish some people would spend as much time contributing positively to these forums as they do mocking others.

Tasty bothers me more. I don't know why. When I read reviews that use "tasty" or "moist" I sort of cringe. The two of them together-like "ceasar salad was moist and tasty." Ugh-hate that. I'm not even sure why. :goodvibes

My borther and SIL are huge Rachael Ray fans and use "evoo" all the time. That annoys me too. I mean really, can't they just say "olive oil"-it takes just as long to say.

This IS a positive contribution.

I'm more offended by the use of emoticons. Just say what you mean and risk offending the other party. That's the price you pay for using irony.

Absolutely, very positive. The thousands of people who come here to plan their Disney trip will be enlightened to know that some people don't like reading the word "yummy" or see emoticons. That will make their trip soooooooooooo much better.

OK.........so I guess in a roundabout way this has something to do with restaurants as we are describing the food we eat with whatever adjective we choose, it is a free country and we can speak however we choose when describing our food....so in saying that I am going to ask that if we want to continue this discussion, we be respectful, not sarcastic, when replying.

We use it because of the show that is shown on the Diseny TV, describing the food in Epcot..."Yummy Yummy Yummy Yummy". That cracks my kids up every time.

As long as no one says delish, Im ok. ;)

So once you get back from your upcoming trip we can look forward to a dining review? I'm going to be keeping an eye out for that title!

BTW, thanks! :goodvibes

Frankly, I'm amused by the fact that someone started a thread about the word "yummy". I never even noticed the "offending" word until it was pointed out. Pretty ironic, I think.

I guess I am guilty of this offense........I am the mom to two.......the grandmom to four.......and the caregiver to kids of all ages.....I never thought it was a wrong word to describe the food I have consumed....:confused3

Lighten up a little! I said I found it funny. I didn't say I hate it or can't stand it.:rolleyes1

The people who click on this thread aren't planning Disney vacations – they want to read what the OP said.

It's a Dis-ism! Alot of people have used this word on these boards for years.

Welcome to the Dis Boards!

Sure, I use the word "yummy" - sometimes in reference to food, but more often in reference to someone like Johnny Depp or Daniel Craig!

I also use the word "potty" - its better than saying "I'm going to The Head" which is how DH so delicately phrases it.

To each his/her own. You will never hear me refer to "ressies" or "The Poly".

My favorite sushi roll is called the yummi yummi. And yes, it is veri veri. :rotfl:

If we are talking about food words we don't like, here is one for you: "grinder" (NE term for sandwich). Now that is NOT a yummy word. ;) IMHO, I don't want my sandwich named after what I plan on doing to it, LOL! :lmao:

Whatever words people use, I love coming on here and reading/ viewing all the WDW food porn! :thumbsup2 This board rocks!

I laugh every time I read a post in this forum that contains the word "yummy"! I don't think I've used this phrase since DD was a toddler and I tried to convince her to eat what was on her plate by describing it as "yummy".

As an adult do you sit around the dinner table at home and say "Dinner was really yummy tonight!" :lmao:

DgrandD13 uses it as an ending to her meal. She says "Dinner was yummy" as she gets up from the table. It is cute from someone under 4.... then it gets OLD if you hear it daily!!!

It is still hilarious to see or hear it from an adult though!!!

You made me laugh out loud, and as my token of thanks this is an emoticonless post
