I finally saw the lights! Our super special anniversary trip! NEW 2/2 pg.18

Nice update! Never much fun shopping with ornery kids. Glad to hear Christmas went well. Hope you have a nice break. Two days of work for me, then off another 5!

Well, you are the updating fool again today and my only regret is I am at work with no pictures! I can't wait to see them all, especially the photo shoot pics. It sounds like you had a great experience. Very cool!

I also can't wait to see your souvies! They are always so much fun.

I'm glad you had a wonderful Christmas. One of my nephews got up at 11:30pm to see Santa and found mom down there. Of course, his question was "why didn't santa fill the stockings?" :rotfl: Gotta love it! :santa:

I'm right with you on the post Christmas Disney planning! ;)

Trekking around DTD with cranky kids is never fun. Sounds like you and Tim were able to make the best of it. Good for you!

Glad to hear you all had a nice Christmas! Let the Disney planning begin!

photo session, character breakfast and then shopping during holiday craziness at DTD. I'd say the boys did great all things considered, that can be a lot even for adults!

Lovely lovely pictures!!! I think I need a set of those kitchen towels.

Amy, I am finally here and caught up! Love your photo session pictures. You have me thinking about doing one in April or November.

What a beautiful anniversary cake! Too pretty to eat.

How was the walk to DHS from the Boardwalk? Jeremy always wanted to take the boat but it looked like a fun walk around the lake.

Isn't the Boardwalk a beautiful place to stay? I am looking forward to going back there in April.

:banana:Yay for Universal. I would like to go there sometime.

I can't believe I missed the MVMCP pin. Darn!

:surfweb:Can't wait to read more.

Amy, just found your TR and read the entire thing! I'm sorry I didn't realize you had started it. I will keep reading! Awesome family photos!! :goodvibes

Your photoshoot pictures are lovely. Your boys are both so handsome. I think the pictures turned out great and they are very creative.

You also took some lovely pictures of the boardwalk/BC area. Nice.

Fun souvies and gifts from WDW! :thumbsup2

What a shame that the boys were not doing well at DtD, but you scored some great items. Love those Christmas Mickey soaps from Basin! Those are really fun as are the kitchen towels!

What a beautiful walk back to your room. Love all the souvies you got. Especially the soaps, I really thought those looked cool. Amazing what they do with Legos too. Can't wait to see whats nextpopcorn::

Glad you had a good Christmas, hope the new year brings lots of fun new Disney memories:goodvibes

Great update, Amy. It seems if you were productive, despite the boys being a little antsy, with your shopping. Glad you found your t-shirts for the party.

I hope you enjoy the holiday time with the boys. My baby came home Sunday night at 6 p.m. and had to go back home yesterday afternoon already. :sad2:

Yes we got done what we needed to do but I don't know that we'll plan any time at DTD next trip.

Boo for such a short visit with your son. :sad2: Glad you got to spend some time together though.

Thanks Pete! Tim only worked two days this week too. Now he's home for another three days.

Such a bummer that you can't see pictures at work! Don't they know you have DISing to do!

We made out pretty well with the souvies this time - luckily I had packed an extra bag. :thumbsup2

Funny story about your nephew! :scared1: One of Zach's friends told him about a time he got up in the middle of the night & saw his mom putting gifts under the tree! :headache:

I've definitely been in full Disney planning mode this week! :cool1:

Yes - Considering all that we'd done that day, the boys did OK. Luckily we were headed to a party next!

The photo session was very convenient! I'm glad we did it. Unfortunately they've raised the cost from $99 to $150 since we booked.

The Boardwalk is definitely gorgeous!! You are going to have a blast in April.

I'm looking forward to Universal. I hope the kids have fun. I'm sure they will at least enjoy the hotel & the pool. :thumbsup2

I figured I had to get a MVMCP pin since I might not get back to a party for a long time.

Amy, just found your TR and read the entire thing! I'm sorry I didn't realize you had started it. I will keep reading! Awesome family photos!! :goodvibes

:welcome: So glad you found me. I'm sorry we won't be there at the same time in April but I'm glad you still have a trip planned. Fall is a really fun time!

Your photoshoot pictures are lovely. Your boys are both so handsome. I think the pictures turned out great and they are very creative.

You also took some lovely pictures of the boardwalk/BC area. Nice.

Fun souvies and gifts from WDW! :thumbsup2

I'm glad you like the pictures - we're happy with how they turned out.

I couldn't stop taking picture of the Boardwalk area... unfortunatley many of them were as we walked so they didn't come out great but I got some good ones too.

What a shame that the boys were not doing well at DtD, but you scored some great items. Love those Christmas Mickey soaps from Basin! Those are really fun as are the kitchen towels!

We made out pretty well at DTD. :thumbsup2 I shared the soaps with my mom & MIL but kept a couple for myself. I put them out at Christmas but they never got used so I get to keep them for next year. :cool1:

The Lego store is amazing! Last year when we were there, the Lego store was in it's temporary home while they remodeled so this was our first look at the new store. It's huge & I love those giant models!

Happy Disney New Year to you too! :goodvibes

After a nice swim & a little rest, we got changed for the party. We caught a bus at 3:30 to MK.

We had hoped to arrive around 4pm to enjoy the park a little & get some dinner before the party. We had originally planned to meet Kathy at 4:30 at Columbia Harbour House but she texted that she had to meet someone at the entrance at 4:30 (to sell her extra party tickets since her DH & DD didn’t end up on the trip) so we made plans to meet at 5pm.

This was our first look at the MK decked out for Christmas!

When we arrived I grabbed a fastpass to see Mickey, even though I wasn’t sure we’d need it during the party. Then we headed straight to Space Mountain.

Fantasyland is definitely coming along! It was about 4:45 when we got there but I wanted to run to Pecos Bills to get a taco salad so I left the boys at a table to the side of CHH.

When I got back I helped Tim order then took the boys to find a table. The restaurant was empty, they had closed the upstairs area & seemed to be packing up the silverware & condiments. I texted Kathy to let her know where we were and a little while later she arrived & said they wouldn’t let her order because they were closing at 5pm! Tim still hadn’t returned with our food so apparently we had made it through the line just in time. We chatted with Kathy & Billy & offered to share our food but Kathy decided to go back over & see if there was anything left in the kitchen to feed Billy. Luckily they came up with some chicken & French fries so he was happy. Kathy brought the boys some adorable Prep & Landing pins and a bag of Christmas gummies (those were so good)! We shared the gifts we had brought for Billy & had a nice time chatting. It was so nice to see Kathy & to finally meet Billy!

After eating we all went over to check out the new Haunted Mansion queue.

It was a lot of fun but the best update was the new hitchhiking ghosts at the end. :thumbsup2 We then headed to BTMRR and rode that together. We were going to take a ride on Splash Mountain next so we said our good-byes to Billy & Kathy as they weren’t up for a soaking! I think Kathy wanted to track down some dinner before they got in line for the 7 Dwarfs. Tim took a couple pictures before we split up:

After Splash we made our way to Tomorrowland to get in line to see Phineas & Ferb when the party stated at 7pm. The castle was already lit up (sorry they are fuzzy...):

I knew we wouldn’t be spending a lot of time waiting in line for characters so we decided to pick one line to wait in & that’s who the boys wanted to see. We waited for about 10 minutes for P&F to arrive then probably about another 10 for the people in front of us to visit with them.

We were off to a great start & the party had just officially begun!

Up next: More party time!!

Very cute pictures of Billy and your boys! How fun that they had a chance to meet! :thumbsup2

I think my boys would choose Phineas and Ferb as well!

I love the icicle castle. So pretty!

It was so fun to meet up with Kathy & Billy! I just wish Kathy could have actually eaten dinner with us!

Phineas & Ferb were fun! :cool1:

Since I'm on a roll & the DIS is quiet tonight, I'll try to finish up our night at MVMCP! :thumbsup2

Next up was a spin on Buzz Lightyear. I rode with Alex & he was mad that I was winning.

We had to get the customary Zurg/jail pic:

After that we took a holiday ride around the TTA.

Then we rode Space Mountain again. I think I took the boys & Tim sat this one out. This was our first time riding on the left side because we usually use a fastpass which always takes us to the right. The boys thought that was pretty cool!

Then it was time to find some hot chocolate & cookies! We stopped into Cosmic Rays to get our snacks.

Then the boys wanted to ride the tea cups. This is one we usually skip but tonight there was no line so on we went. Tim gets motion sick so he held what was left of the snacks while we rode. Tim & I were looking at each other and laughing because there were six little kids (maybe 5 years old) spread out between 2 or 3 tea cups. The CM wouldn’t let them ride without an adult so this poor lady (one of their moms?) came in and squeezed into a tea cup with all six of them! I don’t think she wanted to ride! It was so funny! Apparently Tim took their picture! Then he tried to get some of us!

We then finally rode Snow White. I haven’t been on this in a long time & I’m not sure if the boys had ever been on it. It was nice to check it out again before it disappears.

After our scary adventure we went into Pinnocchios Village Haus & got more hot chocolate & cookies. They also had apple juice so we got one of those for Alex. Unfortunately the hot chocolate was much hotter this time so we couldn’t drink it quickly.

We decided to head back over to BTMRR. We had decided to skip the first parade but saw parts of it on our way through Frontierland. We got to see Santa!

We rode BTMRR & Splash Mountain then headed to Pirates.

The fireworks were going to start so we skipped Pirates, grabbed popcorn, drinks & a popsicles/ice cream for the boys & went back out to the hub. The fireworks were starting so we didn’t get the best view. We were a bit behind a tree. (Isn't the full moon gorgeous!!)

Before the fireworks even ended we started to make our way back toward Pirates. This is when we realized how tired the boys were so we decided to beat the rush out of the park & skip the parade. :sad2:

We stopped for a few PP pictures with the beautiful castle.

After our visit we were stopped to take a quick survey. They asked me a few questions, then asked if they could talk to the boys. When asked what the best part of the meet & greet was, they said, “He talked!”

We made our way out of the park & jumped right on a bus at around 10:30. The kids were asleep by 11:00 and we weren’t far behind them at 11:30. Oh… and that laundry still wasn’t dry!

It was a great way to spend our anniversary! We did so many new things this day: woke up at BWV, photo session, breakfast at Cape May, MVMCP, talking Mickey & hanging out with Kathy & Billy!!

I hope you all have a Happy New Year!!

My goodness what a busy day. So glad you got to meet with Kathy and Billy, how fun. Love the group pictures.

Wow that Christmas party sure looks fun. I love all the decorations, and I forgot about the talking Mickey. Very cool

Looks like you all had a great day!:goodvibes

Thanks Jess - It was a busy day but a fun one!

Talking Mickey was a surprise! I knew he had been around but didn't expect to see him. The kids were thrilled!
