I finally found a way to get DH excited about Disney! - ADDED LINK TO TRIP REPORT

I love the BC! Can't wait to stay there again. Congrats! :cool1: I think they have wonderful customer service there.

You have no idea how many times I've parked in the BC parking lot just to have a meal at Beaches & Cream. :rotfl: (Actually, I use that as my favorite excuse to park there - no flames please). But for all the times I have used the excuse (3 or 4) I should have eaten there by now. Well, there's always October. :thumbsup2

I am sad to not be eating at EOS.....yet again. :sad1: But, I am excited about more resort time at BC. :cool1: We'll probably just grab a quick bite somewhere at the resort & then hit the pool that evening.

Boo for no EoS :sad2: But yay for being able to spend more time at BC with the family :cheer2: I'm hoping to make it out to EoS for our trip...but I don't know if it's possible to do everything I want to in 6 short days. I shutter at the thought of missing my beloved ham and swiss :sad2::rotfl:

Isn't it so hard catching up on the DIS? I told Ed that's the only thing I dread about vacation.....being away from the DIS & trying to catch up upon returning home. :rotfl2:

I know, right? I hate being away and then needing to catch up. Oh well... the price we pay to be on vacation. ;)

I got the Asics Nimbus 14. I am really loving them! The gel support soles are awesome! How were your new shoes? Oh - and I only have 1 more run & then I will have completed the C25K program!

I wanted a lightweight shoe.. and I read a lot about the go runs. I know.. sketchers isn't normally a brand one thinks of when thinking running shoes, but all the reviews were quite favorable. The winner of the New York marathon... he even runs in them now and did his olympic time trials in them. So... in them and others on I realized they were pretty good. They are very light and force a midfoot strike (so my knees feel great in during my run..but my calves.. OUCH) The only down side is they don't last the 300 to 500 miles that other shoes do. I expect that after the ToT, these one will be done. They came out with the next series in go runs recently..the go run rides. They have a larger toe box..and I think I will like that better. It does weigh slightly more (I did try these ones on too but could feel the added weight and so didn't like them quite as much...plus the colors they had were not my favorite) However, for a half marathon... I think the roomier toe box will help since I battle swelling when I get warm.

WTG on almost being done with the c25k!!!! I have about a month left on the c210k.. then I have to actually run a 10k :scared: so that I can get a time to submit for the ToT and PHM

Somedays... I still very much so think "and this is fun, how?" Good thing there are also days that I feel like "yes, this is fun"

I know, I should hide in shame! :sad2: Seems like I always hear people talking about how much better everything is at DLR, so I'm glad WDW has something better going for it. :rotfl:

I suspect that whatever your "home" park is... that is where things are better. I mean... to be honest, the dole whip float was probably exactly the same at DL... but somehow in WDW.. it is "better" cause to me..all things are "better" in WDW

That is very good to know! Thank you! :thumbsup2

No problem! I know that it could be a disappointment to get there and find things gone. I know one trip...we were very limited on what sandwich was available. (I want to say only one choice) DD was heartbroken.

Yeah, I wouldn't like settling the bill before eating either. I was just planning on making an exception this once. Seems to me that if they have their customers always do that, it wouldn't motivate the servers to do an awesome job. How was the service?

Service? There was suppose to be service? :lmao::lmao: At Minnie's breakfast, someone brought us to the table and then disappeared. We had to get our own drinks...our own utensils.. occasionally someone did come by to collect a plate. At Goofy's it was a bit better. We did have an actual "server" He brought us drinks and was quite nice... but really, I think even he wasn't around all that much.

Thanks! It definitely sounds like we're doing a lot of the same things! I really do think our paths will cross! :goodvibes

We were until some of your changes ;) Still...I bet our paths will cross. I mean... we do still have to go to the expo around the same time, right?

I think I'm going to try & just calm down about Reid trying this ride. If he wants to try it, then we shall. If he chickens out, that's ok.....we'll exit. If he screams bloody murder on the ride, that's okay too. Everyone there can give me their evil looks like I'm a horrible mother for putting my 4 year old on it. :rotfl2:

I think that is a good plan. And.. you are not a horrible mother for putting him on...it may be that you won't know until he is on that ride how he will do. I know even for me..there are times when I think..sure, I can do that. then I can go on a ride... then there are other times that I am a big old baby and can't go on that very same ride.

It is the candy store next to it.....the one that connects to the store that sells villain merchandise. We discovered that they sell slushies one day last year. Reid was napping in his stroller (with a fan) but Ed & I were dying we were so hot. We walked through there just to get some A/C. I looked at the menu to see what they had to drink & saw they had slushies. We each got one & they were very good!!

I will have to go there! I love icey drinks.

The change I have to report is bigger than an ADR! Sooooooo......you know how we were staying at POFQ for the 1st two nights as our race resort? Yeah, well I changed it this morning. So, we will now be spending our 1st two nights here:
images

*Thank you for the picture internet!*

YES! We are staying at Beach Club!!!!

If you'll remember, I originally had us at Boardwalk for our race resort. So, why didn't I move us back there? Well, I like having the Marketplace there for lighter food options before our races & we won't have to walk a long way to get there. I also have recently gotten very interested in this resort. The more I see pictures of it, the prettier it looks to me. I am also considering these 2 nights as "research". I really want to plan our 2014 trip around Star Wars weekends. If we do go for that time, I think it would be best to stay at an Epcot resort.

How cool!!! I love that area. I am just a tad jealous!!! I had hoped though that I could say that because you changed yours... I was able to add a night at POFQ for us. Sadly... still no availability. :sad2:

Ok, one more teeny tiny change to the plans to announce. I know, I know.....I need help! :lmao:

I was talking to Ed about our new plans. I was telling him how Reid & I are definitely going to hit up SAB on Saturday while he is resting up for the race. But, I felt bad that he wasn't going to get to check it out & experience it. And if we're doing resort research, shouldn't he be part of the research panel? :confused3

He agreed, so we had to work in some time at SAB for all 3 of us. Therefore, we will no longer be going to DTD on our arrival night (Fri, 9/28). I am sad to not be eating at EOS.....yet again. :sad1: But, I am excited about more resort time at BC. :cool1: We'll probably just grab a quick bite somewhere at the resort & then hit the pool that evening.

Okay, really, that it's!

At least for today! :lmao::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

I think we are getting down to a point where we really can be seriously tinkering with plans. Trip will be here VERY soon!!!

I love the BC! Can't wait to stay there again. Congrats! :cool1: I think they have wonderful customer service there.

Thanks! I'm really excited! And the best part? Ed was the one who suggested I change us to there so that we could check it out for our 2014 trip! :cool1:

You have no idea how many times I've parked in the BC parking lot just to have a meal at Beaches & Cream. :rotfl: (Actually, I use that as my favorite excuse to park there - no flames please). But for all the times I have used the excuse (3 or 4) I should have eaten there by now. Well, there's always October. :thumbsup2

No flames here - that's funny! It was one of the places that I was determined to try on this trip. But, it just wasn't working out originally. I'm very happy to get to try it.

I know, right? I have been so determined to eat at EOS on every trip & it never seems to happen. :sad2: But, I do think it will be more fun to just hang out at BC that night. I find no matter how long I go to WDW, it's hard to do everything I want to do.

I know, right? I hate being away and then needing to catch up. Oh well... the price we pay to be on vacation. ;)

It's just a terrible problem. :rotfl:

I wanted a lightweight shoe.. and I read a lot about the go runs. I know.. sketchers isn't normally a brand one thinks of when thinking running shoes, but all the reviews were quite favorable. The winner of the New York marathon... he even runs in them now and did his olympic time trials in them. So... in them and others on I realized they were pretty good. I think the roomier toe box will help since I battle swelling when I get warm.

I say no matter the brand....as long as they work for you, that's all that matters! :thumbsup2 Sounds like the roomier toe box will definitely be better for you. And what is up with the colors of running shoes? Some of the ones I tried on were soooo bright, flashy & UGLY! I was glad the shoe I wanted came in a decent color scheme: white, purple & aqua.

WTG on almost being done with the c25k!!!! I have about a month left on the c210k.. then I have to actually run a 10k :scared: so that I can get a time to submit for the ToT and PHM

Thank you! I really can't believe I made it through the program. That's great that you're almost done with the C210K program! I don't know about around you, but here there are hardly any 10K races. Thankfully, there was the 1 in the spring that Ed was able to run to submit a time.

Somedays... I still very much so think "and this is fun, how?" Good thing there are also days that I feel like "yes, this is fun"

Ed asked me the other day if I like running now. My response was, "NO! But, I can tolerate it now." :rotfl:

:lmao: Oh my goodness! That's terrible that you had to tip for no service! :sad2: I would not have been happy.

We were until some of your changes ;) Still...I bet our paths will cross. I mean... we do still have to go to the expo around the same time, right?

:rotfl: I know, I know.... I do think our paths will still cross though between the Expo & it sounds like we'll maybe both be in MK on that Tuesday.

Thank you. Hopefully, he'll enjoy it if he decides to ride.

I will have to go there! I love icey drinks.

They really are a perfect way to cool off in the afternoon heat. I want to say that I had a pina colada flavored one last year (no alcohol in it) & it was sooooo yummy!

How cool!!! I love that area. I am just a tad jealous!!! I had hoped though that I could say that because you changed yours... I was able to add a night at POFQ for us. Sadly... still no availability. :sad2:

I'm sorry our POFQ cancellation didn't make room for an extra night for y'all. We've never stayed at an Epcot resort before so it'll be fun to see what we think of that area.

I think we are getting down to a point where we really can be seriously tinkering with plans. Trip will be here VERY soon!!!

Indeed! :cool1: Under 2 months to go!!!! I'm getting so excited I can hardly stand it!

I know...very bold colors. I got some plain ole black ones. However, I have seen how in dressing up in a costume a colored shoe can be very fun. I might try that if/when I sign up for the PHM. Do you think you will be doing that? My friend assures me we will just have a good time... but my ankles hurt a lot these days.

Thank you! I really can't believe I made it through the program. That's great that you're almost done with the C210K program! I don't know about around you, but here there are hardly any 10K races. Thankfully, there was the 1 in the spring that Ed was able to run to submit a time.

Your gonna do the C210k? How many miles are you up to? I guess considering that you are through the program at least a few, eh?

Ed asked me the other day if I like running now. My response was, "NO! But, I can tolerate it now." :rotfl:

Yes, I agree... I can tolerate it now too! :rotfl2:

:lmao: Oh my goodness! That's terrible that you had to tip for no service! :sad2: I would not have been happy.

Well, no one gets service there so I guess I am not too unhappy since it wasn't just me. Still is a bit annoying that they charge a tip up front...but

:rotfl: I know, I know.... I do think our paths will still cross though between the Expo & it sounds like we'll maybe both be in MK on that Tuesday.

:thumbsup2

I'm sorry our POFQ cancellation didn't make room for an extra night for y'all. We've never stayed at an Epcot resort before so it'll be fun to see what we think of that area.

It is so cool you get to stay there! I think it is my favorite area. We got a super duper dose of pixie dust our first time staying on property and got upgraded from Pop to YC. It was heaven! I am sure you will love it. The pool area is, as I am sure you know, THE BEST!!! And when we went..the slide wasn't even running...and it was STILL the best!!!

As for me and my last night at POFQ...I hope each day that something will open up... so far nothing. I wish I had not taken that night off... I should have left it on. :headache: Oh well, it might mean we hop over to AoA for one night. That would be cool too.

Thank you!!! I'm so excited! I really have to work in at least a little bit of time to check out SAB on that Saturday!

I glad that you will all get some SAB time together  FANTASTIC idea!!! All good ch-ch-changes my friend !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

You know what I'm thinking about buying Ed for the ToT race since it's at night? LED shoelaces! How fun is that? I found them on Amazon & they're not expensive. He's probably going to wearing a certain running shirt of his that is BRIGHT yellow. Like, seriously, it almost glows in the dark. so, I might buy him the yellow LED shoelaces.

I really wanted to do the PHM. In fact, the whole reason for me starting the C25K was to get into running & do that race. But, we've pretty much taken it off the table for 2013 because (a) I really don't think I could do a half marathon by then and (b) I feel like our checkbook needs a vacation from our vacations. :rotfl2: But, we are talking about possibly doing the ToT 10 miler together next year.

Your gonna do the C210k? How many miles are you up to? I guess considering that you are through the program at least a few, eh?

I am thinking that I will move on to the C210K next. That's what Ed tells me I need to do. I'm at about 2.5 miles now. Depends on the day though. Somedays, I'm slower than normal & do even less. :sad2: I am definitely a slow runner. They'll probably be walkers passing me up in the 5K. :rotfl:

WOW! What an upgrade! :cool1::cool1:

I have a feeling I might just fall in love with the Epcot resort area. I am already pretty determined to stay at either BC or BWI for our 2014 trip since I want to go for Star Wars Weekends & it would make sense to be close to DHS.

As for me and my last night at POFQ...I hope each day that something will open up... so far nothing. I wish I had not taken that night off... I should have left it on. :headache: Oh well, it might mean we hop over to AoA for one night. That would be cool too.

Thanks!!! :goodvibes I have to say that I'm super-excited & happy about these changes today! :dance3:

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Yay for the Beach Club!!!!

You know I love it there! I was just pricing a possible June '13 trip (!!!) tonight, and hoping that a really good deal gets announced so that we could try it!

So excited to hear what you think of the resort and especially the POOL!

Yay!!

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Yay for the Beach Club!!!!

Thanks! I'm sooo excited about these changes. I never would have thought that I would choose to try BC 1st over BWI. But, for whatever reason, BC has really been calling my name lately.

You know I love it there! I was just pricing a possible June '13 trip (!!!) tonight, and hoping that a really good deal gets announced so that we could try it!

Ooohhh....how exciting!! I hope you can work it out to stay there. :dance3:

So excited to hear what you think of the resort and especially the POOL!

Yay!!

I am definitely glad that I took DTD off the schedule for the Friday night so we could have more pool time. Hopefully, Reid & I will get to spend at least a little bit of time there on the Saturday also. It's huge looking so it's a little overwhelming. But, I think I've figured out the few areas of SAB that we need to check out that will suit Reid.

He's probably going to wearing a certain running shirt of his that is BRIGHT yellow. Like, seriously, it almost glows in the dark. so, I might buy him the yellow LED shoelaces.

OMG! I have to take a look at those. My running partner is making us tutus. I think it might be nice if I then got some of those. I will have to check them out.

I really wanted to do the PHM. In fact, the whole reason for me starting the C25K was to get into running & do that race. I hear ya! I have yet to register... and a lot has to do with just the fact I have the fall trip coming up...and I JUST got back from a short trip... and lets not forget the december trip. Granted, I plan to just upgrade my tickets to AP (there is a group of dis gals that are planning a fall 2013 trip so to keep costs lower...upgrading to an ap probably makes sense) share a room (makes it like 3/400 for the week) and then airfare that is half covered by points and finally food. Since it would just be myself I am thinking it would not be a huge out oop... but it all adds up. Add in that dd was super sad to learn that I am starting to plan this during her birthday month..and NOT planning to take her... it makes me very conflicted about doing the PHM

:rotfl:

I found that it was an easy transition to the 10k program. However, I have started to customize it a bit..with more run/walk intervals. I also have yet to consistently run 10k (I think I did it once a couple weeks ago...and about died) I am slow too. If I am straight out running... for miles at a time... I think walkers also walk faster than I run. If I am in the part of my run where I do some run/walk intervals...I think I run much faster...so I guess it is my stamina that I need to work on.

I have a feeling I might just fall in love with the Epcot resort area. I am already pretty determined to stay at either BC or BWI for our 2014 trip since I want to go for Star Wars Weekends & it would make sense to be close to DHS.

I loved that area..still do. I think I like it more for being close to Epcot though. When we stayed, walking to DHS was a bit much and the boat sometimes took forever. However, now...I am in better shape and I am sure that the walk would be nothing. Funny how perspective can change.

I hope some pixie dust comes your way & you can get the extra night @ POFQ. But, if not, it would be fun to check out AoA for a night! :thumbsup2

I just need to book AoA. I do not know what is holding me back. I keep trying to tell myself that for just a bit more we can get one more days worth of credits. The thing is, I planned for us to use credits that last day..so all we really will need to pay oop for is dinner and then breakfast the next morning. If we share a couple meals (ie. maybe instead of each of us getting sandwiches at SR we get 2 to share between the 4 of us) That would bank 2 credits and we could use those 2 to share another meal that extra night. Then it would just be breakfast (and likely at the airport since our flight is early on departure day)So really, we don't NEED that extra night on the dinning plan. I guess then it is just do we really want to move for one night.

What? Changes? Really??? :confused3 :lmao:

I'm glad you made the second post about SAB, because that was going to be my question. It would be a shame if you stayed at BC and didn't work some time in to take advantage of it! I think it will be totally worth missing out on EoS (and the Lego Store).

I've always wanted to eat at Beaches and Cream. We've just never really had the time to work it in. I guess I'm just really jealous of the changes you've made. It looks great! :thumbsup2

Hey,Just joining in. My family and I have stayed at the bc several times, most recently this past May. It is by far our favorite resort. Yall are gonna love it! My wife and I along with Brother & sis in law will be in Disney a few weeks after yall for a quick food and wine festival trip. Hope yall have a great time & I look forward to reading about yalls trip! Oh, if you get a chance, the Flyin Fish across from the Beach Club on the boardwalk is a great place to eat, a lil pricey, but gooooood!!

I was afraid to read this because I thought you were going to say you were no longer staying at Old Key West; but I see you changed POFQ to the one resort I still want to try -- Beach Club. I will be very anxious to hear what you think about it to compare with other reviews I've seen lately.

Too bad about EOS...but you can always do that next trip. :goodvibes

At least for today! :lmao::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2:

Amanda, I think you will be REALLY happy with your decision for arrival night. This is just such a great plan and very relaxing. I know you'll miss EOS, but there are so many wonderful options in the Epcot resort area and World Showcase. I won't even get started on that topic, but whether it's CS or TS, having all of those restaurants within walking distance both inside and outside of Epcot is one of my favorite things about BC!

Hooray for the BC! You guys are seriously going to love it! Reid is going to be in heaven in that pool! I think it was designed for little boys!

Oh and Beaches and Cream is so yummy, great choice! Maybe I'll try to sneak over there one day during our trip. I know that it won't take much convincing for Everett, he lives for ice cream! :rotfl:

OMG! I have to take a look at those. My running partner is making us tutus. I think it might be nice if I then got some of those. I will have to check them out.

I love the idea of tutus. I told Ed that if we ever run the PHM together, he's wearing a tutu with me. You should definitely check out the LED shoelaces. I think they look cool. I think I'm getting yellow for Ed and I'm thinking of buying orange ones to wrap around our stroller handles. Thought it would be cute in the parks at night.

Add in that dd was super sad to learn that I am starting to plan this during her birthday month..and NOT planning to take her... it makes me very conflicted about doing the PHM

I would love to get an AP one year. I just can't work in enough trips in a year time to justify the cost. :rotfl: That would definitely be a tough decision about the PHM with it being DD's birthday month. But, it really does look like a fun race!

I'm glad I'm not the only slow runner. I've picked it up a bit but that's not saying much. I'm glad to hear you were able to transition easily to the C210K program. I've been on the fence about it but that definitely makes me feel better.

I loved that area..still do. I think I like it more for being close to Epcot though. When we stayed, walking to DHS was a bit much and the boat sometimes took forever. However, now...I am in better shape and I am sure that the walk would be nothing. Funny how perspective can change.

Yeah, I didn't realize how the C25K program was helping me until yesterday. Reid & I played in the backyard for a good 4 hours & I was actually able to keep up with him. Even at the end of our time out there when we were playing soccer. I actually beat him to the ball a few times. :lmao:

I just need to book AoA. I do not know what is holding me back. I keep trying to tell myself that for just a bit more we can get one more days worth of credits. The thing is, I planned for us to use credits that last day..so all we really will need to pay oop for is dinner and then breakfast the next morning. Then it would just be breakfast (and likely at the airport since our flight is early on departure day)So really, we don't NEED that extra night on the dinning plan. I guess then it is just do we really want to move for one night.

Sounds like you could definitely get away without adding another night to your DDP. If you book AoA, would you be booking a Little Mermaid room? They look so cute!

What? Changes? Really??? :confused3 :lmao:

I know I really shocked you with more changes! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm glad you made the second post about SAB, because that was going to be my question. It would be a shame if you stayed at BC and didn't work some time in to take advantage of it! I think it will be totally worth missing out on EoS (and the Lego Store).

Yeah, the more I thought about it, the more I realized it would be silly not to stay & enjoy the resort that Friday night. I am disappointed that I'll miss trying EOS yet again but I'm already scheming on trying it either before or after our cruise in May.

I've always wanted to eat at Beaches and Cream. We've just never really had the time to work it in. I guess I'm just really jealous of the changes you've made. It looks great! :thumbsup2

Me, too! :woohoo: Thanks, I'm excited about our changes & additions! Don't worry - you can live vicariously through my TR. And then I'll be jealous of you when get to see the new Fantasyland in December & eat at Be Our Guest!

Hi & Welcome neighbor! :wave2:

Yay! Another BC lover! I have a feeling my switch to BC will be bad.....because I just may never want to stay anywhere else again! :lmao:

I really want to try Flying Fish one day. The menu looks great!

That's so fun that y'all have a trip right after us!

And I love your profile pic - GEAUX TIGERS!!! (*I can hardly wait for football season to start!)

I was afraid to read this because I thought you were going to say you were no longer staying at Old Key West; but I see you changed POFQ to the one resort I still want to try -- Beach Club. I will be very anxious to hear what you think about it to compare with other reviews I've seen lately.

No need to worry......Hilton & RCI pretty much won't let me get out of my OKW reservation. Well, at least not without losing my reservation fee & my points. :lmao: I will try to have lots of pictures of Beach Club for you in my TR! :goodvibes

Too bad about EOS...but you can always do that next trip. :goodvibes

Yep, I'm already thinking of how I can get to DTD either before or after our cruise in May to eat there. :rotfl:

Amanda, I think you will be REALLY happy with your decision for arrival night. This is just such a great plan and very relaxing. I know you'll miss EOS, but there are so many wonderful options in the Epcot resort area and World Showcase. I won't even get started on that topic, but whether it's CS or TS, having all of those restaurants within walking distance both inside and outside of Epcot is one of my favorite things about BC!

The more I think about it, the happier I am that I decided for us not to go to DTD on arrival night. I think we'll have more fun swimming at BC or just sightseeing. Any decent CS type places at the resorts you would recommend?

Hooray for the BC! You guys are seriously going to love it! Reid is going to be in heaven in that pool! I think it was designed for little boys!

Thanks! I'm sooooooo excited! :dance3: I can't wait to check out the pool! I asked Reid today if he would rather go to the pool or Epcot that Saturday afternoon. He chose the pool! :goodvibes

Oh and Beaches and Cream is so yummy, great choice! Maybe I'll try to sneak over there one day during our trip. I know that it won't take much convincing for Everett, he lives for ice cream! :rotfl:

Who doesn't live for ice cream? :confused3 :rotfl2:

I am happy we were able to work in a meal there to give it a try. And I know Reid will be happy to get some yummy ice cream. He seriously asks me for ice cream at least once a day. :sad2:

love the change! as much as i love EoS, i think SB trumps it!

Thank you! I have to agree - I think the pool will definitely be more than DTD on a Friday night!

Oh wow, I love your changes!:cool1:

Beach Club! How exciting! I can't wait to see pictures and hear what you all thought of it! I would love to stay at Beach Club one day.

As much as I loved EOS I would definitely pick SAB over it. Can't wait to hear what Reid thinks of it! It looks soooo cool!

Congrats on your C25K success! I ran last week but I don't think it will happen this week.:confused3 Chad doesn't get home until after 9 most nights. My goal is to work up to doing the TOT 10 miler next year.:thumbsup2

Am I the only person who can't believe it is August already? Your trip will be here so soon and I can't wait! :rotfl2:

I'm really excited to see what we think of it. It just looks so pretty. And I'm really thinking BC or BWI would be best for our 2014 trip is we do go for SWW.

Yeah, I think we made a good choice by taking DTD out of the plans. I even offered to take Reid to take Epcot on Saturday while Ed is resting for his race. But, he said no that he wants to stay at the pool! :cool1:

Thank you! It can be hard sometimes to find the time to get out there & run. I haven't run yet this week. Even though it's only Wednesday, it's been a crazy week so far for us. :sad2: Hopefully, I can get out there tonight. But, we have karate tonight so we'll have to see.

Am I the only person who can't believe it is August already? Your trip will be here so soon and I can't wait! :rotfl2:

I know, right?!? I'm soooo excited!

Hope everyone is having a good week! Ours has been okay, very hectic!

Reid finished up his 3rd trial class of karate on Monday. He did very well again. And he got his white belt with his 1st stripe! He was so proud of himself!

Sorry for the bad picture quality. I really should have taken out my real camera to take the picture instead of using my iPhone. :sad2:

We met with his head teacher, Sensai Kelly, yesterday. He told her that he really loves karate & wants to keep doing it. So, we committed to the 6 month program. Yep, 6 months! :scared: After the 6 months, we will re-evaluate to see if he wants to continue. I was a little worried about a long commitment since I know he'll miss 2 classes while we're in Disney. But, his teacher said she can easily work it out for him to catch up those 2 classes. Anyway, I'm excited for him!

You know what else I'm excited about? The fact that we're now in August! Why? you ask. Because I can now say, "I'll be in Disney next month!" :cheer2: Even if it's at the very end of next month. :rotfl:

Let's talk Disney plans! My last update was about our night at DHS. So, let's mosey right along to the next day........

Thursday, October 4th

So, what is our destination for this day? This park:

Yep, we're heading to EPCOT on this day!

We will probably wake up around 630am or 7am to get ready for the day. We'll grab a quick bite for breakfast in our room & then head out to the bus stop. We should be at EPCOT for Rope Drop.

Our first stop will be here:

images

*thanks for the picture internet peeps!*

This will be the first time that any of us ride this. I'm thinking that we will try to just ride stand by first, if we get there fast enough. Then, if we like it enough, we will grab FP's on our way out.

I can't even tell y'all how disappointed I am that Test Track will be down during our trip. Reid was so excited to finally get to ride it. Last year, he threw a holy terror of a fit when I told him he wasn't quite tall enough for it. So, I really felt bad when I had to tell him that he wouldn't be able to ride it yet again. :sad1:

Another thing we didn't get to do last year: the Character Spot. The line was horrendous by the time we got there! :crazy2: This year I really want to get there early in the morning.

Then, there are some favorites that we'll plan to hit that morning:

Spaceship Earth: I couldn't believe how much Reid loved this ride last year. We rode it a lot. I'm sure this year will be the same way.

Another favorite we'll hit up:

Reid has been singing the Imagination song for almost a week now. He has been talking about this ride a lot lately, so I'm sure we'll do a few spins on it as well.

Other than that, I'm sure we'll also ride Living with the Land & use up our Soarin' FPs if we get some. We will also go ride Nemo & spend some time looking at the fish & such. I practically had to drag Reid out of there last year. Maybe we'll get to do Turtle Talk with Crush this year. We may also spend a little bit of time in Innoventions if time permits. If Ed wants to do Mission Space, I'll tell him to go do that. I hate that ride.

Once we've gotten everything done on that "to do" list, we will head to the World Showcase!

We may start here:

We didn't get to do the boat ride here last year, so I want to make sure we take Reid on it this year. Also, I want to do Maelstrom with him.

But, our main objective in World Showcase will be to check out all of the Food & Wine kiosks! I'm so excited to experience this for the 1st time!

In fact, the kiosks menues were released yesterday! :cool1: I want Ed & I to sit down & start making a list of the things we really, really want to try.

I'm thinking that lunch (for Ed & myself) will pretty much be made up of our samplings from the different kiosks. And then we can stop at a CS place & grab Reid a kid's meal.

Some of the things I already know I want to try:

*Florida Shrimp Ceviche with Fire Roasted Vegetables, Fried Plantains and Cilantro (from the Florida local kiosk)

*"Le Cellier" Wild Mushroom Beef Filet Mignon with Truffle Butter Sauce (from the Canada kiosk) I figured since I've never eaten at Le Cellier, this would give me a taste to see if I like it

*Warm Chocolate Lava Cake with Bailey's Ganache (from Ireland)

That's just a few things that are on my "to try" list. I'm thinking we can definitely make ourselves a decent lunch from the kiosks.

NEXT UPDATE: What else will do in the World Showcase?
