Hi everyone!!

Some of you will be glad to know I FINALLY decided and bought my new camera yesterday!

I went to Circuit City, Best Buy, NY Camera, and Sears and I was able to try out all 5 of the cameras that were on my list. After I bugged the camera salesmen with all of my questions (see, you weren't the only ones), I went with my gut instinct and bought the camera that I felt most comfortable with.

Can you guess which one I decided on? Here it is!!!

I ended up purchasing it from Circut City because they had, by far, the best deal that I just couldn't turn down. I got the camera for $309, 2 year warrany which includes accidental damages (like dropping it) for $99, and it came with a free internet training course on my camera. Yesterday was the last day of the sale, and now its back to regular price at $499.

Another reason I love this camera, is because I can buy add-ons like a telephoto lens, a wide angle lens, etc.

I couldn't be happier...last night I was beaming from ear to ear!! :teeth:

Now, I just need to get my accessories like my memory card, a new set of rechargable batteries, and a camera case and I'll be set to go!

Thank you ALL so much for your help :yay: ...I wouldn't have been able to make a wise decision without all of your great information. I really appreciate all of your help and I can't wait to start posting pictures!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

:thanks: :disrocks: :thanks:

I went with the same camera and love it! I hope to get the wide angle lens for my bday. Here is a couple of pics I took.... now if I can only learn how to size them smaller to post them. Anyone?

Congradulations on the purchase! Now get out there and take some pictures and Post them here for us to enjoy.

I have the same camera and I love it! That's a great price you got. I paid $475 at Circuit City, but I got it for 18 months same as cash. So I only have to pay $10 a month, but I'm doing $25. I've had it since June, but I still have a lot to learn. :thumbsup2

Congrats on the Sony. :thumbsup2 A friend of mine had one of those exact same cameras until his wife took it from him and claimed it for herself.. :rotfl2:

Can't wait to see some pics from it popcorn::

I wouldn't resize them. That's about right in my opinion. Big enough to fill the screen, but not so big that you have to scroll to see the whole thing. I know people have different screen settings, but still.....

I bought the same camera at the end of June and LOVE LOVE LOVE it. (It's actually what I was hoping to see when I clicked on your link!). I'm so excited about taking it to Disney with me when we leave on Thursday! I'll definitely be on here posting after we get back.

That's an amazing price you got it for too. Enjoy!

So glad to hear your love the camera! Your pictures are incredible...I can't wait to start snapping away! Oh, and sorry but I can't help you with the sizing...maybe someone else can??

Thank you ALL so much!! I have to give a special thanks to Handicap and Mhutchinson because they put up with all of my crazy questions that never seemed to end! :rolleyes1: I can't wait to get out there and take some pictures to show you all.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! :cheer2:

I'm so happy to hear you love the camera too!! This makes me so excited! The camera just seemed so easy to use, whereas some of the others I was looking at were just too complicated for me and a lot of the menus were hidden. This camera is great...everything I wanted!

Good luck with the camera on your upcoming trip to Disney! I can't wait to see your pictures when you come back. Enjoy!! ::MickeyMo

Congratulations, we now expect to see the results in the various threads scattered around here (don't forget the food thread in the restaurants forum!)

Lovethatmouse, the absolute easiest and fastest way to quickly crop and resize pictures is Irfanview... www.irfanview.com. It's small and free and is the best image viewer around IMHO and has a ton of power if you want it to. You can go through the drop-down menus, or better yet, learn a few keyboard shortcuts, and you'll be getting your pics web-ready in no time.

To crop: Draw a box around the area you want to save and hit ctrl-Y.
To resize: hit ctrl-R and enter the width or height (or percentage) you're after.
To save the new pic: hit S and give it a filename. Ctrl-S will overwrite the original and you probably don't want to do that!

Irfanview can do a ton more things, too, but those are the ones that we all need to do the most.

It goes without saying that you should have your camera recording the highest resolution in the maximum quality, too!

Congrats,

I am sure you'll love it... Now comes the fun part :)

Thanks Groucho - I'll check it out when I get home from work. I used to love using my old camera, but with my new Sony I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!!

I just bought the same one last week!!! I'm now going to need help on how to take great picutures while I'm at WDW. Enjoy!
