I counldn't find this before my first post, but I looked some more and found it. I wrote it when the horse I used to ride died. I changed it a little and made all (i hope) the he's into she's.
Her eyes closed that day and the pain left her body. When she opened them again, she was no
longer in her home, but the grassiest pasture shed ever seen. She was scared at first, but there
were many other horses there. Most shed never seen before. Gently she stood on once weak
legs to find that she was no longer weary. Looking everywhere with wide brown eyes and ears
pricked forward at attention, familiar whinnies came from the distance. Running toward the
familiar face she noticed that she was moving faster than she ever had before. Gaining speed, her
hooves began to leave the ground. When she looked behind her, she had wings like a bird.
Now she can be with you always. Always flying a few steps ahead as your guardian angel,
making sure you stay safe, and sending a warm breeze against your face so you remember her
always.
