My horse is dying...we spent 2 hours looking for her this morning - finally found her hung up in the fence by the neighbors house. We have some tall sagebush so she wasn't easily visable. My elderly parents helped my get her out and get her up - she had been stuck lying down. She made it about halfway to the barn and laid down again. It's obvious she's colicky and had been prior to getting stuck in the fence. I have had horses long enough to know that there's really no hope at this point. The vet is supposed to be her before noon and I'm pretty sure I'll just have to have her put to sleep.
I'm not even sure she'll last til the vet gets here. I just can't stand to sit out there with her and see her suffering. I told her how great she is and how much I loved her. That's it's o.k. to go...that her old buddy Apache will be waiting for her... It's just so sad...there's nothing I can do to help her pain..
So send a little pixie dust and some prayers for my Tony...at this point I just wish she'd pass quickly...
