I feel like a traitor!

I recently travelled to Las Vegas for the first time and now I'm hooked!

Don't feel bad RAMWDWFAN, we feel the same way but not so much that we are selling our DVC points. It was our 1st time there 2 weeks ago(Polo Towers) and we loved it. We hardly gambled at all. We just enjoyed all of the options(resorts, shows, food, etc). And we also enjoyed not having strollers, screaming kids, crying babies, etc around.

We plan on going to Vegas at least every other year,if not 1 long weekend(4 days) every year.

I was waiting for someone to "double-edge sword" me on that post

Speaking for adult entainment flyers being shoved in your face....Isn't there legal brothels in a county outside of Las Vegas? I remember seeing something about this on those Discovery Channel shows

Just wondering
Steve

I just sold my OKW contract today after one day on the market!! Shontell at TimesharesByResale is great.

Hilton Grand Vacation Club and Vegas here I come!!

Well, perhaps I'm a simple person. I make my living flying a business jet, and from time to time we overnight in Las Vegas. We generally stay at The Luxor, as we get a good corporate rate and it's close to the airport. In the morning I usually throw on a tee shirt and jeans so I can stagger to the lobby for coffee. When I stay in LV, it is culture shock. All I want is coffee, and I go to the lobby where folks are still there from the night before. The slots are 'dinging' and there is too much going on for my tollerance at 7:00am.
That being said, I went to college in Prescott Arizona, just 4 1/2 hours drive from Vegas. Every long weekend we pilled the guys into the car and went. It is fun for a day or two, but I am completely miffed how one could spend an entire week there.

In short- It would be a great weekend trip for the guys, but a family vacation???... Not for me.

I have no intention of making my trips to Vegas family trips. My DS is 17 and I did not appreciate the folks trying to put the girlie magazines in his hands. At one point I was ready to smack one of them! My DS says he doesn't want to visit again until he is 21. Vegas is going to be a getaway for me and my DH once a year and also a yearly girls only trip. I'll make these trips in between my visits to Mickey! They may be trying to make Vegas more family friendly but I wouldn't take a youngster there.

Actually, just the opposite.
A few years back they tried to make Vegas more family oriented, but they were not attracting enough people. I have talked with many locals there, and they said it did not work. Now Vegas is striving for the "Sin City" image once again.
This reincarnated image is also prevalent on the latest Las Vegas television commercials.

Yeah, that's when we went, when they were saying they were family friendly. My sister went in --it must have been 1997- when my niece was two. They liked it so much they went back and invited us in 1998. I can remember pushing the stroller through a casino (we weren't stopping with a three year old!) and getting stopped by security and told we had to take my niece out of there.

We told them we were, but that the resorts are built so if you want to go in, out, eat, drink, sleep, go to a restroom or even breathe, there's no way to do that without going through a casino!!!!
