I experienced EVERY emotion on FastPass day...

So this morning was my fastpass day. We've all been there...
Waking up at 3:30am instead of 5am because...DISNEY!
Practice FastPassing as the minutes tick slowly by until that window opens.
Trusting that everyone on the Boards is right and that window WILL open, even though you wonder.

WELL....
My window did NOT open!! DID NOT.....OPEN!!!
SHOCK....FRUSTRATION....IRRITATION...DISMAY as the minutes ticked by and I could HEAR those Fastpasses slipping through my grasp! PEOPLE!! CAN YOU EVEN IMAGINE??!!

I called Disney and quietly RAGED (but only on the inside) as I waited on hold for MINUTE AFTER MINUTE! I finally figured out that the MyDisneyExperience site had DROPPED the hotel reservations for our two parties (Us and my parents).

VERY LONG STORY....but the final verdict was "we will have to escalate this and until it is resolved IN 24 TO 48 HOURS YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MAKE FASTPASSES!!!!!!!!

It was then that I broke down in tears and cried on the phone. Berkeley, the CM, was wonderful and her tenderness and compassion only made it worse. Tears streaming down my face as I realized 16 MONTHS of planning and plotting were DOWN THE DRAIN. I asked in despair "I have totally missed the Fastpass window now...is there ANY way that you can put a few fastpasses on there so that I don't totally miss out on EVERYTHING?"

MORE LONG STORY....but Berkeley was WONDERFUL and worked with Guest Relations to assure me that they WOULD give me fastpasses for the ones I would be missing. (FoP, Mine Train, etc) WOW!!!! Now I could relax and breathe.

MORE LONG STORY...but I then went on to the site to see if there was any way that I could still book them or re-link my hotel reservation from this end....and I WAS ABLE TO LINK THE RESERVATIONS!!

I checked (now at 8am EST and I was hopeless!) to see if I could get FastPasses for my party of 5....FIVE PEOPLE...DO YOU HEAR ME?? FIVE!!! AND TO MY UTTER ASTONISHMENT I WAS ABLE TO GET EVERY SINGLE FASTPASS THAT I WANTED AT THE EXACT TIMES THAT I WANTED THEM!!

SO....LONG, LONG, STORY....THANK YOU to Berkeley for your WONDERFUL efforts on our behalf! We will not be needing those extra FastPasses after all!! I have already sent a detailed email to WDW praising her efforts on this most frustrating of days.

Whew. See you on June 4th.

I noticed last night that our linked reservation had disappeared from MDE. I called this morning and they were able to relink it for me. Something weird must have been going on yesterday.

There was definitely an issue last night and this morning. I was getting an error that my username/password wasnt valid. Ended up on the phone with Disney IT for about an hour but had issues the rest of the night into this morning.

Yes, indeed, Shades of Green. I don’t have any answers. I’m not even sure if I fixed it or they did. I just know that miraculously, it was fixed.

Wow, this is really good news. We decided to finally try SOG next year since they are so much cheaper, and parking fees are a third of Disney’s new prices. We’ve always been eligible, but always got such good deals and loved being onsite. But with all the new crap, we are ready to take the leap now. I was in awe how cheap it is for “deluxe” level hotel right across the street from our beloved poly. I had NO IDEA you could link a SOG reservation in MDE.
I’m really glad they fixed it for you. I could literally LOL because we’ve all been there. Any non-Disney people just wouldn’t understand the level of panic....

I just wanted to comment we stayed offsite last year in June and at 30 days out I was able to get all but FoP. Just wanted to assure the new people .

I'm so glad everything worked out for you. This year is the first time we have ever used a travel agent to book our trip and I was so nervous on FP day that something like that would happen to me. Add to that the anxiety over getting FoP and I was a wreck, thankfully it went very smoothly.

Nothing beats a great CM on the phone!

Do not stress about your fast passes. Here now and we were able to do all "mountains" this morning just by "modifying/ refreshing" our fast passes day of our MK morning.

Thank goodness that during the actual trip everything always goes smoothly, nobody gets frustrated, rides never break down, the buses are always quick and efficient, and everything goes off just as you planned it.
