and received a phone call yesterday. My email had explained the two trips we had to cancel this year, and how we wanted to reschedule them for next year, but our AP's would be expired. The CM on the phone said she understood why we didn't want to go this year, and since we wanted our AP's to use next year, they would extend the expiration date out until the end of our Dec 2021 trip. My email had stated that I did not want the refund, or the one month extension they were offering.

Very thankful for our individual extension, but I explained to CM that there are so many AP holders that are unhappy about the current situation and how Disney is handling it all. The CM said to tell them to email Guest Services about their situation and they would see what could be done.

One month extension for 3 month (almost 4 month) closure. Real good deal

When was your expiration date?
How much of an extension did you get?
Ours now expires in Nov.
We have a trip booked to replace our March trip.
We figured we would just call it a loss if we don't feel comfortable going in Nov.

We activated our AP's in Dec, 2019. Their original expiration date was in Dec 2020, but with the extension Disney offered for the 4 mo closure, it showed April, 2021. I imagine it would have been May, 2021 with the extra mo they were going to add in Oct. When we activated our AP's we had a Dec trip that year, and then we had planned a big family trip in May, 2020, and then another trip in Dec 2020. We are not locals, and had only planned on going those trips, so I had emailed Disney about how the extension was not going to work for us because we were planning to reschedule the trips that were canceled. (We've already canceled our Dec 2020 trip because we just don't feel comfortable going to WDW for a while.) I told them that I didn't want the refund, that what I wanted was to be able to use the AP's that we had paid for when we went in June 2021 and Dec 2021.

I've been pretty vocal about how Disney should offer AP holders the option to freeze or pause ther AP's, and then reactivate them when they are ready to return to WDW. So basically, we are getting what I wanted..... to be able to have our current AP's for our rescheduled trips for June 2021 and Dec 2021.

Oh, Wow! That is a great extension!!
We are out of staters as well and had planned on two long trips out of our AP.
Thanks for the email address.

Yes, very happy that we are able to use our AP's for our trips next year. We won't be using the AP's at all this year, and not until June of next year. So it's almost like the pause I was asking for.

disneygrandma, do you know who you spoke to? This is exactly the solution we want. We are a 20 hours drive away from Disney and buy an AP every other year to go in July one year and June the next. We have been doing this for over 11 years. Unfortunately we were not in an ’off’ year so we won’t get the benefit of the second trip. We had 3 weeks planned in June ’20 and would just like to do it in June ‘21 on the same pass. The supervisor I spoke to said they absolutely do not do this. I’m very frustrated! Instead, our party of 10 is going to get over $3,000 back, rather than an extension which would not cost them extra cash. Not to mention this huge Disney fan being very disenchanted with their handling of the situation 😢

That's a great outcome! Ours was set to expire Nov 9 and is now extended to Apr 5. If we could have gotten it extended to late 2021 I would have chosen that versus the refund, that I guess it takes a MIT level mathematicians to figure out since no one I have spoken to can.
