I don't live in the woods!!

Love them bear pics! My mom and dad live in the woods(and mountains) of north GA. They have many bears around all the time, but had never seen one near their house. Well, last summer, Mom was out on the 2nd floor deck, and she heard noises coming from my dad's pickup truck. She looked over the railing and saw what looked like Dad rummaging around in the bed of the truck. She called out to him and started down the stairs, when all of a sudden a BIG black bear turns around and looks right at her before running off. Turns out, who she thought was Dad was actually a bear pulling apart the truck to get to a restaurant doggie bag accidentally left in there! Mom said she was really glad she didn't make it all the way down the stairs before he saw her!

Love the photos HMG and Ran. All that time I lived in Maine I never saw any bear, but plenty of Moose.

Beauty, here are 2 photos we took, it was taken across from our house in Maine. The moose wasn't too big so it's mother must not have been too far off!

It's eating something on the ground in this shot (the moose is that brown lumpy looking thing--the photo is dark)

And here it spotted us taking his photo!
