I don't know what to do, need help asap!

We were supposed to leave on Monday, but we have another 14+ inches of snow coming to Boston. So Jet Blue was nice enough to move us to Sunday without having to pay any fees. :worship: So I went ahead and called WDW to see if I could add a day on to the beginning of my trip, after an hour and a half on the phone (OMG) the CM told me I couldn't, but we could book a new ressie. Ok, totally fine with that. Then she has more problems with getting the ressie set up, we're at 2 hours on the phone at this point annnnnnnnnd I get disconnected. Not so much disconnected really, it all of a sudden made some noise while she was talking and then I was being transferred to the survey at the end of the call. :headache:

So, getting on with my problem, I went online and booked a room only ressie for tomorrow. So we'll check in at the Room only ressie at Pop tomorrow, then on Monday check out, and go to check in again at Pop for our week long trip, complete with Deluxe Dining and Hoppers.

I wanted to ask here first (before calling and waiting forever and possibly being disconnected). Is there a way to start using my tickets and dining from the Monday reservation when I check in tomorrow? Or do I have to add another day to the dining package? Anything you call tell me would be amazing, it's the first time in WDW so I have no clue!
 
Yes you can. Don't bother calling and asking. The CMs on the phone aren't at wdw and don't know. Instead, look around this forum for the last week and I am certain there will be a thread about picking up package tickets early that you can fine.

From everything I've read it shouldn't be a problem to change after you arrive. I'm glad JetBlue was easy to change. I'd sworn off them for a long time after some negative experiences, but after some good PR back in December, I booked tickets to Orlando with them the next day.

I'd just get to Pop and explain the situation to the Castmembers at Check-In. Everything should be transferable by the concierge. Enjoy the extra day! :wizard:

You will be able to pick up your package tickets early at guest relations at one of the parks, but you won't be able to use your dining until you've checked in for your package reservation.

This. The tickets should be no problem, and you should also be able to add a day to them at Guest Relations if need be. But the dining plan won't start until the next day since it is connected to the other package. So it will start as soon as you check in for the second reservation. You will probably just need to pay OOP for the meals that first day. We usually do quick service on arrival day anyway, since we are usually tired and don't want to forfeit the dining reservation deposit if we had travel delays.

The biggest thing to know about talking to Cast Members is that there's a subtle game called CM-Roulette. If you don't get the answer you like the first time, play again :-)

some times it's truly because what you ask for cannot be done. If that's so, you'll get the same answer.

Sometimes it's because the first CM doesn't know how. If you're lucky the second one will.

Sometimes it's not normally done, and the first one won't. But the second one has a little bit of pixie dust and can make it happen.

Have an AMAZING trip! Don't let the small stuff get to you. Take it all in! Enjoy the truly awesome world of Disney.

Ugh, yes. If it was spread out over the whole winter it wouldn't be so bad. It's the storms that come one after another that's the worst.

This happened to us a few years ago. Hurricane was headed right for us here in MA on the morning we were due to leave! Were able to switch Southwest flight to the afternoon before and add a one-night stay at All Star Sports, where we were staying the rest of the week. Couldn't use dining plan. Could have used tickets if we wanted, but we just relaxed for the evening at the pool/arcade/food court.

One thing you'll want to ask when you check in is if they'll be able to keep you in the same room. They should have linked your two reservations when you booked the extra night, but you never know! We were lucky and were able to stay in the same room, but were told when we booked that couldn't be guaranteed. Worst case scenario would have been we'd leave most of our bags packed and have to move them the next day.

Isn't it fun to be planning for your trip and running around doing those last minute things while everyone else is out stocking up on milk and bread again???
 
Drat! I missed the dining part of that. Can't get that early.

staying at the SAME resort for both reservations, you can try to get the tickets
issued early at the resort Concierge Desk.

If the CM there doesn't know how to do it (or if your stays are at different WDW resorts)
go to any Guest Relations outside any theme park, or at TTC, or at either location at DTD to pick up
the tickets up to 3 days before check-in for the package.

IF your new flight gets in before 10pm, you don't *have to* bring your bag on your own, even if you didn't get the new tags.

Never fear. You have two options. You can claim your bags like normal, or you can have Disney claim them for you as if you did have those yellow tags. Bypass baggage claim, and go straight to the Welcome Center. From there, give the Cast Member your luggage claim tickets. They will create replacement tags for you, find your bags, tag them, and send them to your resort.

So don't pick up the bags, but take those tickets to the DME people. They'll take care of it from there. If you want to. :)

You're one of the lucky ones. I was supposed to fly out of NH today, but flights got cancelled. Currently fighting with Southwest to get out of Boston tomorrow afternoon. I hope your extra day was great!
