I Don't Know, I Don't Speak Wind!!

Bella & the mingo is too cute!!!

I love the blue Mickey shirt with the zebra print...hmmm I may have to get that!

Also -- we heard yesterday that Taylor will be on the Today show Monday. He got a call from Matt Lauer himself, wanting him on to tell his story.

Cute animal friends! I too like all the merchandise at AK (and AKL). It's not all so generic. AK has such a different atmosphere all together.

Bella and her mingoes. :cutie: I have taken to call them mingoes now too. I never say FLAmingo anymore!

I LOVE that zoo "cage"!! It's a super cute way to "control" the animals and still be able to see them all.

I really enjoyed the last time we headed out to Planet Watch too. I think sometimes people forget it's out there. Lots of neat stuff to see. :thumbsup2

I seriously want the same mug. Is AK the only place you can get it? Have you seen it anywhere else MeMom? That's on my October list for sure!! :scratchin

I need that mug too!! I know it has been around for a while, but I just started drinking coffee this year. So now of course I need a new mug or two on this trip. :thumbsup2

June2012Part1753.jpg

I have that Mickey gnome in my back yard garden. He's very faded though - I need a new one. And Minnie to go along with him....didn't know there was a Minnie gnome!

Bella's pointed toe posing is cracking me up! :rotfl:

Loved the safari pics. Boy lots of road traffic on that safari. LOVE the close up Giraffe pic.:thumbsup2

I also love all the AK shopping pics.

I also have 2 of the Mickey gnomes & they are very faded & chipped. I did not realize they have Minnie either.

Love so much of the AK merchandise. I could easily go broke in that park.

The pic of Bella & Mingo is just precious!:cutie:

Fun times at Rafikis planet watch. We're big fans of the Tamarins!

I love all the AK merchandise. I don't think I've seen those kitchen wares before, some might have to come home with me on another visit.

What a nice idea to get each girl a beaded animal, that is an awesome souvenir idea!

You do need one of those mugs! It is just the right size and feel, one of my absolute favorites! Fun update

I haven't been to Rafiki's in years! Enjoyed looking at your pictures.

Loved the blue shirt with the zebra print Mickey on it!

DH sulks in WDW because 1) He hates walking. 2)He'd rather be taking a nap and 3) He's just always like that haha.

He would fit right in with some our guys. They pick and choose when they are tired and when they are not. If they are heading downtown to their once a trip cigar night (none of them smoke at home, but there is apparently something fun about a DTD cigar shop), then they are definitely not tired.

My little one has never been a big fan of Rafiki's Planet Watch. Your girls always seem to have such a great time there, we will have to give it another try, although I don't know if we'll have time on our next trip

We do have a good time there, and I could spend a bundle of money at the Out of the Wild gift shop. I think you have to have an interest in animals, though, and most people probably would rather be riding Everest or Dinosaur more than watching a monkey pick bugs off of another monkey. ;)

 for memories of Joan at Rafiki's.

I LOVE the different AK merchandise...ironic because it's my least-favorite park! But the different animal beadings and carvings are gorgeous!

I will pretend you didn't 'diss' my park.

AK definitely has unique merchandise. AKL does, as well, and it is much fun to shop at both places.

Great pictures of Rafiki's Planetwatch! I've been to AK 4 times, but only managed to make it there once.

We rarely miss it. Maybe sometimes when we don't get to AK until after procedures time, then we might skip it.

Do you guys have one of these yet? I spotted this on Pinterest and think we will be making one in the future to hold all of our "friends"

Jill sent me that picture a couple of months ago. I think she has plans for John to build one one of these days. They certainly need it! Some of their furry friends have come to live at my house, too. There's no tellling how many we have between us! :faint:

I needed a shopping trip this morning! I bet Bella got a mingo beaded animal.

I still haven't made it to Rafiki's and see a procedure. Always have good intentions but never make it on time.

So sorry that the train ride was such a sad one.

Anxious to hear what Jill gives a second chance....:scratchin

I don't know that I will ever ride that train again and not get that sinking feeling.

I hope you get to see a procedure someday. We have really seen some interesting ones.

I bet the family will get even more support financially and otherwise after being on national TV. I hope they are able to live very happy lives in spite of the difficulties.

Very cool souvenir options that are not smack in your face Disney or Mickey. That's nice to have for some people on your list, and it's nice to have something different for your own self sometimes.

I know what you mean about the mingos. Who says 'fla' any more???

I don't really recall seing it anywhere else. Maybe at AKL. I am kind of thinking I should break down and get one, but when I think about forking out $12-15 for a mug, I keep backing down.

I need that mug too!! I know it has been around for a while, but I just started drinking coffee this year. So now of course I need a new mug or two on this trip.

I don't drink coffee, but hot chocolate would be good in an AK mug on a cold January morning. :thumbsup2

Bella's pointed toe posing is cracking me up!

I actually saw small Mickey gnomes at Hobby Lobby back in the spring. Bella is also famous for the head tilt these days.

Me, too, on the going broke. I could do a lot of damage to a credit card. :rolleyes1

I would love to take my class to Animal Kingdom. They would go absolutely nuts over the snakes, frog, gorillas, tigers, etc.

You are talking me into it... :goodvibes

Do you think Reid would like seeing the educational aspects of that area? Or maybe he would say 'no way' to doing any learning on vacation! ;)

I am sitting here having my morning coffee in that very mug!

It does seem to be the 'Official Mug of DIStown', doesn't it? :)

I just saw on FB that Jill and gang is coming to Nashville... are ya'll venturing out to Oprymills or just keeping it simple?

Just seeing this. We went to the mall to eat with our cousins. Doing that and making a stop at Build a Bear and the Disney Store was more than Jill needed to do. She was worn out. She wanted to check out some other stores, but there was no way. We might try again for a short time tomorrow, but they have to go back to AL early for a party in the afternoon. We'll try to plan a meet when she gets back to 'normal'. ::yes::

After Animal Kingdom, it was time for lunch.
We were about to try out a 'new for us' place.
Not a new restaurant.
Not at a place we haven't been before.
Just a place at which we had not eaten.

We had read about a buffet deal for lunch at Pepper Market from our pal, Poolrat Pat. There was a small incident about her missing out on it by mere minutes on one trip, but we won't talk about that. :ssst:

Anyway, we checked out said buffet's menu and decided it would be worth a try.

Do you see some things you would like?

And here is the restroom.

A picture of Chichen Itza in the restroom.

WDW just has to have the most educational restrooms in the world, don't they?

Maya Grill, which was not open at the time.

Back at Pepper Market.

Is there a lop-sided Hidden Mickey here?

June2012Part1805.jpg

We had a wonderful server, and the meal was very good. It's one of those hidden treasures on Disney property, in our opinions. The girls didn't eat a lot, but what they ate, they liked, and of course they filled up on the sweets at the end, which is always an exciting thing for a kid at a buffet.

When she brought the bill, our server said the girls' meals were on the house in honor of our first visit to Pepper Market. That was a twenty dollar savings! So nice! And I am sorry to say that I do not even remember her name, nor did I take her picture.

It's nice to hear Jill and the girls could come for a visit.

I think Lexi would love to join you at the mall sometime...BAB and the Disney Store are her favorites.

Was there anything fun at the store last night?

I ended up going to Walgreens and I picked up a few things...the Mickey & Minnie scarecrows, skeleton Mickey, Disney Halloween coloring books, light up sticks, wall decorations.
I'll put up picks of my mini haul tonight after work.
I was gonna get some of the stuff for your little girls but I figured Jill may have already done so.

The Tamarins are so much fun to watch! I wish I could hold one. ;)

You should get that AK mug!

Hmmmm, I think we may need to venture over to the Pepper Market for lunch someday.
There looks to be some good offerings besides just Mexican dishes.

I'm happy to have my DISfriends who keep me in the "know" about the little hidden gems! So thank you! :thumbsup2

I was a bit behind but have enjoyed catching up this happy Saturday morning.

By coincidence, I am drinking my morning coffee today from the AK mug. For those wondering it is also in the gift shop at AKL. It's one of my favorites and has a fun little "surprise" in the bottom of the mug when you've finished your drink!

Bella's poses are seriously adorable!! princess:

Thanks for the tip on Pepper Market. I've never thought about that as an option. Worth checking out!! And how nice of that server to make the girls' meals on the house. Love that Disney magic!!

Hope you have a nice weekend visit!!

Thanks for the info about the pepper market. We almost stayed there once but for some reason we changed our minds. I have heard mised reviews about the food so I am glad that you enjoyed it.

Have a great time with all of your girls this weekend! I know you have all missed each other. :goodvibes

I must remember the buffet at Pepper Market in the future. It sounds and looks great!

:wave2: Hi! Yes I got off of fb! I am following along with all of the updates in lurking mode as usual....but I had to laugh and tell you I spent 5 minutes looking for a lop-sided mickey head in the zucchini, when I realized it was the brownie pic below that you were talking about:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I had NO idea about the Pepper Market! I'm adding it to our list of places to try!

We went to MNSSHP last night. We definitely got wet from the rain, but it was still an AMAZING time! The first parade was cancelled making the second one PACKED! They also couldn't get the headless horseman out, so that was a little sad! But crowds were pretty low and it wasn't chilly! We ended up with 12 lbs of candy (yup, I weighed it!) and some great pictures!
