I didn't think it was abig deal, you only choked once!! Update 9/18 final thoughts

Actually there is one more update before we get to the race and that one is my lovely daughter's to do :rolleyes1

Uh, oh Caitlin... looks like you've been officially nagged by your mother.

I plan on doing one Wednesday. Between working from 11-8 every day and going to the gym and trying to keep up on people's TRs I have been quite busy  I will be working at home Wednesday so I should have some time before my conference call to work on it then :cutie:

All right... but if Thursday rolls around and there's no update, we're gonna hold our collective breaths 'til we're blue in the face or you post your update.

sorry for having to resort to collective threats... we do what we must.

Oh wow I will definitely post one on Wednesday then I don't want to have all of that on my conscience!

I'm In :) can't wait to hear about how the race went for both of you :)

So after the debacle at the registration we decided it was time for some down time!

Once we got back to our hotel which took a while since the bus system at ESPN wasn't the easiest understand. People were supposed to walk out to the parking lot let someone know what bus they were then they randomly pulled up every once in a while :confused3

We went and put on our bathing suits and headed for the pool!

The main pool at All Star Sports was cute and while we were there they were having their pool party! I played games with the little kids like hot potato, musical spots (like musical chairs) and danced to a couple of songs (the Cupid Shuffle and Cotton Eyed Joe)

It was a lot of fun and a great way to unwind before the big race! The only downside was the amount of love bugs flying around  Luckily the teenaged boys who decided to follow me around the pool were sitting near my mom and killing the ones that landed near her

After we were done with our pool time we decided to take a tour of the other areas at the hotel.

We also took a picture outside of our room to show the number which would have helped us to have the next day :rolleyes1

After our tour we went back and got ready for the race! I had a lot of animal inspired accessories to put on  I also took a pic of the pins I traded for that day

We grabbed dinner before the race and I had sushi while my mom had a hot dog. I was very excited that all of the resorts were carrying sushi now and it was the same sushi you could get at the counter service in Japan in Epcot. I think it said it was made at the Nine Dragons restaurant :confused3

Our food was good and we were all set to go hop on the bus and get this over with! We lined up near the sign for the Expedition Everest wait and while we waited multiple people lined up behind us. After an Expedition Everest bus passed us one of the ladies in line decided to go ask about the buses. We had been waiting there for a while and it turned out we were in the wrong spot! :headache: The bus was picking people up in front of the hotel :sad2:

Bad Idea 1 : Expedition Everest 0

Up next the actual race!!!

I am always behind!!! caught up now & will see if I can keep my chatter down.

Can you believe I haven't seen Captain EO yet. Not sure why. Oh yeah - I know why - Everytime I passed it I was by myself and it just seems like one of those things you should watch with someone else.
Mary Ellen -- could it be that MJ is a little icky? I had it on my list for May but Joe and I decided we could do without. (and I always feel like i am talking to myself when I talk to someone with the same name:rotfl:)

Awesome! It is so much fun! I plan on getting a grab bag to trade in August as well!

I have a cork board in my room filled with them and then we have shadow boxes with cork board in them in our living room. It is a fun way to use them and be able to see them all the time :)
OH I love the corkboard idea! so much more fun to have them out than tucked away in a binder!

.... You see at 4:30 (yes 4:30!!) I woke up to the sounds of her once again searching the luggage for her charger. I was of course thrilled by this  I then got up and looked for it and I too had no luck. UH-OH! I knew I had packed it so I texted Dale at home (I knew he'd be up and getting ready for work) and asked if he'd seen the charger. He responded "yep you packed it in my camera bag". Yep, the camera bag that would be arriving with him TOMORROW!
ooohh i hate waking in the middle of night knowing I can't find/remember something.

We bought the camera and headed back to Cape May and we were seated right at 7:30 for our 7:40 adr. We were immediately welcomed by our server and quickly headed to the buffet. The breakfast buffet here is one of our favorites because it's usually not very busy and the buffet is enormous! YUM!
We filled our plates with a variety of foods and of course the requisite Mickey waffles and as soon as we sat down we were paid a visit by this fella
037_37.jpg

I love how the characters here are dressed for the beach! So cute!

I think CapeMay is top on our list for next time, I see so many good reports on it!
and it is fun the way they are dressed!

... As we neared Star Tours Caitlin suddenly let out a shriek! She about scared the heck out of me and I had no idea what caused her reaction. Then she pointed and ran for a character line. Chewbacca was out! ...
Finally Chewie came out and we were first in line, followed by our new friends.

We had a great time with these meet and greets and it totally sold us that we must visit during Star Wars Weekends sometime!

You saw and had more SW photos here than we did during SWW - the lines were wicked long and it was SOO hot when we were there.

At this point it was lunch time and we had an adr at the 50's Primetime Cafe. We hadn't been there in a couple years so we were looking forward to it.... Our "aunt" cut a piece of chicken and made everyone in the room make choochoo sounds as she fed Caitlin. It was hilarious! She was so embarassed!

What fun! We had 50;s on our list, but it was the start of SWW and it was so hot & crowded that we left DHS and didn't return for dinner.

So after the debacle at the registration we decided it was time for some down time!

Not sure what is up with scheduling this spring - we experienced more scheduling issues this time - both with our room and with transportation. I'd heard that there was a big system update in early May, wonder if something went hooiey and messed up their data?

wow, you ate sushi before a race? really? <-- that would be me!

Ack! I am seriously behind here! How did that happen since I KNOW I subscribed to your thread?? Ok, catching up now...

Love all the fun pictures you've captured! What a fun mother/daughter trip so far.

The pictures of Caitlin, the princess and Stitch are adorable! I'm seriously impressed by her Disney knowledge too. Nothing wrong with starting them young!:thumbsup2

What a weird encounter you ladies had with the race! I'd have been annoyed as well. How can you run out of t-shirts when you pre-order them?? Or pins for that matter?? Annoying.

Great pictures of everything, can't wait to hear about the actual race!:thumbsup2:goodvibes

I love it and it's nice to have a bit of Disney in the room decor

It drove me nuts!

It is great we went there for breakfast and dinner this trip but we may not have enjoyed dinner as much as we normally do :rolleyes1

We got really lucky!

Aw 50s is great we went there a couple times on our trip!

Idk but we had a few computer issues :rolleyes1

I love sushi! I eat it whenever and I figured the fish would be a good source of protein!

What a cute bikini Caitlin! Where did ya get it? I hope you kept those teenage boys in line ;) Can't wait to hear about the race. I've started jogging myself and would be interested in doing a half-marathon one of these days.

She is definitely a DISer in the making!

I really don't know how they did that! I mean even if there was a computer glitch they should have ordered the pins after the registration date closed!

Thank you!

Thank you! I got it on sale at Target last year  I am in love with bikinis and I buy tons of them but only when they are cheap! I can't imagine spending a ton of money on one

 My mom told me to go over and flirt with them so they had a good story to bring back to their friends but I just ignored them and went on with my pool time

It will be coming up soon! I became addicted to running after this race and I now run about 7 miles a week :thumbsup2 I would love to do another Disney race but Idk if that will be happening :rolleyes1

The pool party sounds like fun. Good thing you had those boys to keep the love bugs away. haha!

Your pins are so cute! I love the Figment one.

Yeah the boys came in handy for my mom

Thank you! I was so excited about the Figment one he is one of my favorite characters!
