I had 7 nights at CSR for Sept/Oct. already and when the Fla resident rate came out I called and had it switched. I had the first reservation "room only" through CRO,
and had to pay one night's room rate as a deposit within 14 days of reserving your room and the final payment of the remainder was due at check-in.
Also had the cancel up until 5 days prior to check-in deal.
But when i changed it to the CAM code I had to pay the balance by sept 9th not at check-in. My new paper came in the mail and it now says "CAM package" I did not know that the fla resident code is considered a package?

I called about the cancel up until 5 days prior to check-in and they said yes it still was that for me. I just didnt know why it changed when i pay the rest.

Is this how it is always? Oh well... It is all paid for now.

They are getting very sneaky about this. I called and reserved a ROOM nothing more Disney club rate. I had to pay the whole thing right then. when the confermation came it said package, they had included 2 lugguage tags and two tickets to sports, which I absolutely don't want. so that they could call it a package.
I think it is rediculous and they don't tell you they are doing it either.

There is no "room only" rate using the DC discount and there never was. There is only the Basic Plan package which includes the luggage tags and the WWoS admission you got.

If you really wanted only a room and nothing else, you could have booked rack rate through CRO and gotten it. If you wanted a room without tickets and still use your DC discount, you had no choice in what you got, where it was booked through and what was included.

All Disney discount codes are automatically set as packages by the computer. The CM can and sometimes does do a manual override so that the advance payment due date is omitted. But more often, they don't.

Your balance in fact was not due until check in. All CRO room only packages (codes that contain three letters) carry the 6 day cancel, balance due at check in policy.

This happened to me when I switched over using my AAA card. I just got the confirmation and it says the balance is due by Sept 9 for our October trip. In the meantime I again switched my room over using AP rates so I will look on my new confirmation to make sure this has been taken care of. I thought it strange that my confirmation number was still the same one yet they switched to the WDTC tactics. It will also depend on the CM you speak to. This happened to me for our May trip also but I had used a public code then. The CM refused to take it off my reservation saying that is how it has always be done. Not! I have used codes for 2 years and never had this. The next CM said to ignore it as they are not enforcing it. Again I got another deal, a postcard, and changed it so it disappeared off my new confirmation. I wish they would get their stories straight!

This is confusing.

I've never used a discount code before when booking, and I booked my AAA room only through CRO.

I asked specifically if I was booking a 'package' (didn't want to) and she said "Oh, no, just the room, same cancellation policy, etc etc."

Well, sure enough, the confirmation says "AAA room only package." on it. But we only had to pay one night's deposit and have the same five day cancellation thingy.

They need to get it together with this stuff!!!

My saga continues! I just received my new confirmation for my AP discount. It has that I have a 9 night AMI Passholders offer. It states nothing about "package". On the bottom it tells me that I owe the balance by September 23. My trips date is in October. Then to top it off it tells me that I will need my AAA card to get the discount! I changed from AAA to an AP discount so I don't need a AAA card for this discount. I am now on hold trying to find out what is going on.......... Well so far the CM tells me that they will delete the AAA part on my reservation. He is checking on whether I have to pay in full in September though. At first he said that they haven't implemented that yet but I'm still holding!........Finally came back and said that it will not be due until check in and that it will be implemented in 2004. I was told the same thing last year except they said 2003! Oh well, hopefully I will have my room at the Poly in 6 short weeks!:D

I called around the middle of last month and got the AAA discount for 5 nights at CBR, Oct 1 to 6. The cm mentioned when she pulled up my phone # that I was also a Disney Club member. I said yes I am but I want to do this AAA so that I don't have to pre-pay. OK, fine. She sets it up as AAA, takes my membership # and $100 deposit. I thought it was strange that it was $100 deposit instead of 1 night rate. She gave me a WDTC res #. I questioned it and she said that is the way they do it now. I get the confirmation in the mail - it's Disney Club! Balance due 21 days before! I left it as is, I figure it will come on the same credit card bill anyway because 21 days before is right after my closing this month.
