I desperately need advice....

I hope so, but to be on the safe side, I'm keeping copies of all the emails.

Good plan and if you are tempted to say anything back I would just quote the emails she sent you asking you to TAKE the dog. She sounds like a whacko to me!

I would ignore her. All she is going to do is continue to twist her words around anyway. Have fun with Gigi. Id love to see pics!

Glad Gigi is doing well:goodvibes
Definately do not respond to the raving lunatics twisted email..take the high road and enjoy your pup and you should be able to enjoy it more because it was "free" :confused3 (insert lunatic smilie here)
Just enjoy your newest member of the family:thumbsup2

I would be seriously tempted to email back:

Sorry I didn't respond to your text messages, I'm not twelve.

Seriously though, She's an adult, right? I don't understand why she was texting you when you were sitting in your house by your phone.:confused3 It's not as if you guys are best buddies that text each other all of the time.

:lmao: Soooooo true!

I'm happy that everything worked out for ya. Now after reading this whole thread I demand a picture of this cute dog!!!! (when she's feeling better of course!)

Text her now . . "I responded, are you happy now?":rotfl2:

I would but I shouldn't. I'm believing she won't bother anymore so I don't want to start anything..though I'm so wanting too!

I will have pics of her soon...she is so cute!

Update on Gigi and the ex-co-worker...
First, my lovely Gigi is doing great. I just picked her up, she was a little drowsy but active. How cute that the vets gave me her baby teeths they pulled out, that was nice of them.

Well, I received a response. And I cannot believe what she says. I guess she is giving up?

"First of all,you should have never told me that I could have her back.. I gave her to you with the intentions that YOU said I could have her back... now you are going back on your words.. she is a very easy dog to love... and YOU told me that I could see her whenever I wanted.. lol.. childish of you not to answer my texts though... if that was the case you could have just told me. I am a firm believer that what goes around comes around... and for you to deny me the priviledge to have MY dog back is very low of you. I completely understand why you wouldn't want to give her back seeing as she is the cutest thing in this world you could have ever gotten for free. Thank you for the pictrues"

Funny how she switched around what I initially told her about being able to visit her into she could have her back when she wanted!:sad2:

I guess I'll get what's coming to me since what goes around comes around, though all I get from my beloved pets is love.:confused3

I guess I'm a rotten person because I received the cutest thing in the world for "Free."

So, what do you diser's think? Should I leave like it and do not respond?
My fingers are saying respond but my mind is say ignore.

I think the bold "FREE" pretty much states what her intentions were. She's mad that she didnt' get any money for the dog.

yes, pictures!

and I agree with everyone, don't respond.

I think you should rename your dog Freebie:lmao: If she ever tried to call the dog she'd never get her to respond:lmao:

I am glad you did the responsible thing. You saved her, really.

Take the high road and don't give into temptation. I am also looking forward to pics of little "Freegi" when she's feeling better. (You can rename her now, you know...:rolleyes1 ) :yay:

FREEGI, that's even better!:disrocks:

I'm glad you kept the puppy. She is going to have a wonderful home with you!

well, I just read the whole thread, hoping that by the time I got to the end, the OP would still have her dog! I am so glad to hear that she does! :goodvibes The co-worker is a nutjob and I am so glad you stood your ground and have not given it and given Gigi back! She is yours now and much better off in a loving home!

Hope it's over now and you will never hear from that woman again!

OP as tempted as I would be to fire off a snotty return email I think the smarter thing to do would be to print copies of all correspondence and file it away in your filing cabinet for a rainy day. Glad to hear she is recovering well from her surgery too. Is the doggie toothfairy coming to your house? :tink: ;)

I'm glad everything turned out okay and she HOPEFULLY will not pursue this anymore. I would also keep copies of everything and stick it in a file - just in case.

As far as FREE goes, immediately upon getting Gigi you had to pay someone to come and house sit, you've had her groomed, shots, spayed, chipped, etc. and then had to deal with nutso. Free definitely comes with a price.

Again, glad everything turned out for the good and that Gigi is recouperating well. Pics when she's feeling better.

I totally agree with others that you should NOT respond.

But, paranoid (but oh so practical) guy that I am, it strikes me that she deliberately chose her wording rather carefully because she may very well use her email as some level of "evidence" in a civil case against you.

KEEP ALL YOUR COMMUNICATIONS, INCLUDING ALL EMAILS AND TEXT MESSAGES! Plus, I would suggest you sit down and write down all the dates, starting from the very beginning, and include all statements you made, she made, etc... Write down all conversations and include all quotes as much as you can remember. It will help jog your memory if that loon does indeed try to sue.

Boy, I watch WAY too much Judge Judy.

I'm so glad to see that everything has worked out. I,too, would love to see pictures of YOUR dog when she is better.
