DH Obi-Wan and I were shopping in Carytown (Richmond) today with his DM. Carytown is a collection of eclectic shops as well as some sidewalk vendors.

We ran across a sidewalk vendor selling TShirts. On the back was a big red bullseye. On the front "Virginia is for Snipers"

5 hours later the sniper shot someone not 15 miles away.

Sick people trying to make money off of this

That's awful, MeanLaureen. I can't believe someone would be sick enough to make a profit off of this.

Don't ya just love capitalism.

I can't believe that anyone would buy this shirt!

Some people will do anything for a buck:(

That is totally disgusting. Was anyone buying them?? Would serve him right if he got stuck with all the merchandise and lost money on this.

That is just beyond contempt!!

You know, I believe in the right of free speech and unfettered capitalism. . . but I also believe anyone who would peddle something like that derserves to have the crap kicked out of them. .

Oh Man....only in Carytown!!! Bet that vender is not there tomorrow!!! Bet not many people are...:( Take care of yourself Meanlaureen!!

That is so sick...how anyone can try to earn a buck off of this is just totally unexplainable...what is worse is anyone who buys such a shirt..How sad :(

Yes, that's right. People used to be able to handle their emotions in their own way. People used to laugh through their fear and sadness. Apparently that's not allowed any more.

Gee, didn't we have this problem after 9/11? (attacking people for the way they handled the situation)

We actually laugh quite a bit. We laugh about our theories, our avoidance techniques, the sheer ridiculousness of the energy it takes to plan a trip to the grocery store--every time my friends and I talk we laugh about all that and laugh at ourselves for the things we come up with. "I'm going to zig-zag in to Wal-Mart now!" and we all crack up. But I highly doubt the people selling that t-shirt, or anyone buying it, are doing so to cope with fear and sadness.

We were in Richmond last weekend to see Disney on Ice and as we were leaving the stadium, a car drove by and someone shouted, "Sniper!" My son almost jumped out of his skin.

I think I would have to say something to the vendor and tell him that I will NEVER shop there again.
Sicko:mad:
