Thank you everyone for your well wishes. We made it to the port.

The cruise was fantastic. Weather in the Bahamas was beautiful.

Now at the Polynesian. We cut our visit to only two nights instead of three due to the storm. My husband is at the car care center right now having the tire fixed.

We will be heading up to Atlanta before heading home to New Jersey to see my brand new grand nephew!
So far the weather is holding out here. Expecting the heavy rains to start overnight. But I don’t think the storm is really hitting this area till maybe Thursday. To all who are in the path of this hurricane and storm. Once again, thank you for all your support.

I had a horrible experience with aaa recently and they couldn’t get a tow truck to accept the job. Luckily I was at my house and not in danger. The tow driver who they finally got to show up the next day said that AAA doesn’t pay them enough to respond to non emergency calls. I was told a few times by the aaa rep on the phone to call the tow company directly and submit it for reimbursement which could take up to 3 weeks.

Exactly what happened to us no one will except the job. My husband would’ve change the tire but we were on the side of 95 south and the traffic was crazy and I just didn’t want him to get hurt. Plus, the man who finally came had the right equipment to get it done really quickly

I'm really glad you waited and stayed safe. I lost a friend of mine this way. He was changing his tire on the side of a busy road and was struck by someone who wasn't paying attention and killed.

That's crazy. I've had to have my car towed a few times when I wasn't always able to call AAA beforehand (most recently when a big pothole took out a couple dozen cars in the tunnel leaving Logan Airport, which got us all towed to a police barracks and then they called tow trucks for everyone). The tow truck driver called AAA and confirmed that I was a member in good standing, then towed my car without any further payment and assumed that AAA would pay him later. I didn't have to wait three weeks for reimbursements or whatever.

If you tell AAA that you're in a dangerous spot and that you can't move to somewhere safer, they'll try to get to you sooner than they might otherwise. Better to call than to use the website for something like that, though.
