I Could Have Had a Cruise. Instead, I'm Going to WDW! May 2010 PTR - ONE MORE DAY!!!

Oh wow!!! Love the activity books you made for your kiddos!!! They will have so much to do!! And the "Guide to the Magic for Kids"-- where did you get that?! Ally would LOVE something like that! The book looks incredible!! Thanks for sharing, Alicia!! :goodvibes

Becky, if you google "guide to the magic for kids" the first link listed should be the one where we bought it from. I think it's the books actual website.

I see your new ticker! How exciting Mary! I don't remember having this many problems finding Alex clothes in this size but it's been a nightmare trying to find Lauren some clothes. I saw those bike shorts but Lauren is VERY picky about her clothes. She would wear nothing but dresses if I let her. She's such a princess.

They will only wear the bike shorts UNDER the dresses. Avery will not wear anyhting but dresses.

Love those trip folders with all the cool stuff. May have to check that out for the plane. I have that EXACT book in my Amazon cart for Avery! Thanks so much for going through it and showing us all the cool stuff it has. I am going to get it now for sure! We got Avery a DS for her bday-outgrew the Leapster and little sister wanted it. She loves it so far.
Plans look fun. We have not tried ABC Com...I really hope I am brave enough for TOT this trip!

I admit that when Mike first sent me the link for the book I thought it was neat but wasn't all that into it. Then I started looking at the book on the website and I started getting excited. When it was delivered a couple of days ago, we opened it after Alex went to bed and I started going crazy over the book. I'm so glad Mike found it!

Alex is starting to show more and more interest in the DS. One of his good friends has one so I wouldn't be surprised if he asks for one for his next birthday.

ToT is calling me. I can not wait to ride it! I'm convinced that if my MIL can ride ToT, anyone can. She HATES roller coasters. My SIL somehow convinced her to ride it. She did it, but was terrified afterwards. I always ask her "Didn't you hear the people screaming?!" She says "Yes. But they kept telling me it wasn't that bad." :sad2: I really wish they had gotten the picture of them riding it. I normally don't like free fall rides but ToT doesn't feel as out of control as other free falls. Maybe it's because it has the ability to go up and down.

What cool books you've put together for the kids. I am like Dana, I wish I had know to do those kinds of things back when Hunter was small and would enjoy them.

When I was planning my Disney party, I found all sorts of free puzzles, games and coloring pages on the Disney.com website. I printed out calendars for everybody then totally forgot to hand them out to my guests.:rolleyes1

:rotfl: That sounds like me making deviled eggs for Thanksgiving dinner and forgetting to serve them. Then I'm left with 20 deviled eggs. :rolleyes1 And I'm the only one in my house that eats them :sad2:

“I can show you the world.
Shining, shimmering, splendid.
Tell me princess now when did you last
Let your heart decide.

I can open your eyes,
Take you wonder by wonder.
Over, sideways and under
On a magic carpet ride.

(Everyone now!)
A whole new world.
A new fantastic point of view.
No one to tell us no or where to go
Or say we’re only dreaming.

(Sing it like you mean it!)
A whole new world!
A dazzling place I never knew.
But now form way up here
It’s crystal clear
That now I’m in a whole new world with you."

Man I love that song! I think it’s one of the better written Disney songs.

So tonight was Jasmine night. It was Lauren’s turn to choose. Once again it gave me the opportunity to cook some international cuisine so I was excited! For dinner we had:

Chicken Kabobs
Veggie Kabobs
Couscous
Pita Bread
Hummus
Monkey Bread (in honor of Abu!)

The chicken was a big hit! I ran out to Target today (finally bought travel sized stuff today. More on that in another post) and bought some garlic herb marinade for the chicken. Yum! Alex and Mike didn’t even want to touch the veggies. At least Lauren tried them. Mom and I divided the remainder. The couscous and bread were yummy too but the ooh’s and aah’s were all about the monkey bread! Sooooooo gooooooood!!!

After dinner we congregated in the family room and watched “Aladdin.” This is one of my top 5 favorite Disney movies. I sing through the whole movie which of course leads the kids to exclaim: “Mommy! Stop singing! I can’t hear the movie!” And then, of course, I sing even louder. Here's some pics:

We had a lot of fun! It was kind of strange though since I went out today to buy decorations for our next and last Disney night. It felt like I was cheating on this Disney night. But this next week is going to be so crazy that I had to go out today to buy the decorations.

So what’s the final Disney night? Polynesian Night!!!! We’re going all out for this one! (I went a little crazy at the dollar store today)

Up Next: I Really Need To Stay Away From Target And The Dollar Store

Oh WOW!! I just LOVE your Jasmine night!! Great decorations and the food looks YUMMY!! Especially the monkey bread! I look forward to see what you have up your sleeve for Polynesian night!!! Maybe some bread pudding?! (Can you tell I LOVE desserts?!)

I made a list out today of what I needed to do before we leave. Things like laundry, get lime green Mickey heads, clean house, etc. I very quickly realized that I wouldn’t be able to go out later next week to get our Disney night decorations for our Poly night, and I still needed to get some travel sized items.

Thanks to Dana, I knew that the Dollar Store had a ton of luau stuff so the kids and I headed there. So there we are, looking at luau stuff and of course, you know what happened don’t you? I started looking around the store at other stuff they had. I found a couple of things for our trip and thought “No big deal! It’s only a dollar!” But of course, a dollar plus a dollar, plus a dollar, plus…you get the picture. :rolleyes1 Bad store. Bad, bad store. In the process of finding luau stuff, I also found the kids some more stickers, water bottles, and Disney sand molds. On a previous trip to Toys R’ Us I bought each of them a shovel and a sifter. Here’s a pic of their goodies:

After our fruitful trip to the Dollar Store we headed to Target. For a couple of weeks I’ve been reading about other people buying travel sized items on their PTRs. Well, now it’s my turn. Yay! :yay: We walked into the store and headed to the travel aisle. The kids had fun picking up stuff and pretending to sniff the outside of all the containers :confused3 while I picked out what we really needed. Here are my picks:

I promised Mike that I was done shopping today. I honestly, besides food items, can’t think of anything else. Now I just need to concentrate on getting the house in order before we leave. :laundy:

Up Next: Mother's Day

Thank you Becky! I had thought about making bread pudding but I saw something the other day that blew me away. It would be awesome if I can get it but my backup plan is to make bread pudding. But I'm hoping plan A will work...

Your Jasmine night looks wonderful. I hope yall had a great time!

I need to post some pics of my travel items as well. We're all coming close to the end now.

Joining in! Your kids are just too cute! I love, love, LOVE your Disney nights! You really inspired me to do some. Great shopping finds. I might have a slight issue with shopping, too. Yay, for your trip being so close!

Thank you Megan! It was a fun night! I can't believe that we have only one more disney night.:scared1: I told Mike I was sad that we were ending our Disney nights since the trip is so close. He said we could always cancel the trip and just have Disney nights. Ummm.....NO!:lmao:

:welcome: Barbara! Thank you! I think they're pretty cute but I am biased.

Our Disney nights have been great but I'm ready for the real Disney food. :yay:

Happy Mother's Day to you mommies out there!

We woke up to our fridge not working :scared1: so Mike's on the phone trying to get someone out here to look at it. Meanwhile, the foods in our camping cooler. I might get to eat out for dinner! :yay:
