I Could Have Had a Cruise. Instead, I'm Going to WDW! May 2010 PTR - ONE MORE DAY!!!

I love your Mother's day gifts:thumbsup2 It is always so sweet to get the stuff your kids make. I have drawers full of stuff...:lmao:

I hate that your fridge decided to mess up right before Disney, gosh that $270 would have bought----

8 Soft Serve Waffle Cones, 12 Mickey's Premium Ice Cream Bars, 4 Mickey Mouse Cookies, 6 Chocolate Éclairs, 5 Kaki Gori's, 12 School breads(these would be your gift to me :lovestruc:love::rotfl:), 8 Dole Whip Soft Serves, 1 Kitchen Sink, 4 "Doh-Bars" Fried Candy Bars, 2 Turkey legs, and 24 assorted bottled drinks..................:lmao::rotfl2::scared1:

Can you tell where my brain/stomach is? :lmao:

:dancer::jumping1::rainbow::jumping3: 11 DAYS ( ACTUALLY 10 DAYS AND 16 HOURS FOR ME) :dancer::jumping1::rainbow::jumping3:

Dana, that has got to be one of the most impressive displays of Disney knowledge I've ever seen. I bow down to your Disneyness!:worship::worship:

Sounds like you had a wonderful Mother's Day! I love homemade gifts myself! They are by far my favorites. :lovestruc

Sorry bout the fridge but at least it happened before you left on vacation and you shouldn't be coming home to stinky food. That charge is insane for the labor! Wow!! Now it's time to focus on Disney right??? :confused3:

It was a great day Leanne! Definately time to focus on Disney!!! It really is a good thing that the fridge decided to break down before we went on vacation.

If I'm going to finish this PTR I better get moving!!

So Thursday morning will be early entry for MK so I’m sure Mike will have fun getting all of us up! It is also our last full day at WDW. Sigh. This is always a bittersweet day.

Since we’ll probably have done most if not all of what we have planned to do in MK, it will be an easy going day. I may even stop in the Main Street Bakery and grab a wonderful breakfast cake. I don’t know who decided to make cake for breakfast, but I think they are wonderful! Last year, while I got a goody from the bakery, everyone else went on Pirates. I had a chance to look around the gift shop while I waited for everyone to get off the ride. I had never really realized all the decorations before. I took quite a few pictures:

I wouldn’t be surprised if we went on the tea cups, Pooh, and Barnstormer since those were some of the rides we went on last year:

IMG_1755w.jpg

Mom likes to ride by herself since she spins so fast:

And of course we’ll have to stop in the Emporium. Maybe we’ll even try on some hats:

I do hope that sometime during our trip we’ll catch the “Move it! Shake it! Celebrate it! Street Party.” We saw this a couple of times last year. We actually saw it enough times that I could sing and dance along with the CMs that were in the Street Party (I’ve tried to convince Mike that we could move down there and I could get a job singing and dancing in a parade. So far, I haven’t had much luck with that). Before we left the park last year, we caught the end of the Street Party and watched them go back behind closed doors. One of the CMs decided to give us a hard time before he went behind the doors. He stood in front of all of us and let his flag blow in people’s faces. I think he enjoyed himself a little too much:

Here he comes:

Oh! I didn’t talk about what where we’re planning on eating lunch! How could I forget that??!! I’m excited that we’re going to try a new place, Columbia Harbor House. None of us have ever eaten there so we’re excited and a little nervous since it’s new to us. But I’ve heard a lot of good things about it so I’m sure we’ll like it.

Sometime after lunch we’ll head back to the resort and have fun at the pool or hanging out in the room or lobby. Well, as long as it’s not raining we’ll go to the pool. Last year I think Alex got to go to the CBR pool 3 times. I don’t mind a little rain but I surely do not want to deal with the rain we had last time. Some of the walkways were flooded at CBR last year:

After our break we’ll head to Epcot. Of course we’ll have to ride Spaceship Earth. Since this will be our last time in Epcot, I’m sure we’ll do some shopping in Mousegear. Mousegear and the Emporium in MK are equal to Target and the Dollar Tree Store here at home. Momma likes to spend money in those stores and Mike is always adding up how much everything costs in his head (after all, he is my walking calculator).

Our dinner ADR is at Biergarten. Woohoo!!!! Bring on the sauerkraut!!!! Bring on the sausages!!!! I can smell it from here! Nobody, and I mean nobody, better have any problems while we’re eating here. If they do, they’re Mike’s responsibility. I’m going to eat my sauerkraut!!!!

We’ll ride a couple rides during our evening in Epcot. Which ones will depend on the wait times. But one things certain, I’ll have to take Mike’s picture while he leaves Epcot for the last time and I have to film us walking out of the park. It’s always a little sad but we’ll have one morning left in MK to look forward to.

Up Next: I Don't Want To Leave!!! - Day 9

Friday morning we’ll wake up knowing that after lunch, we’ll be starting our trip home. Knowing me, I’ll have packed up most of our stuff the night before so there won’t be much left to pack in the morning. After we place our luggage in the van, we’ll head to MK for one last time.

Last year, we took it pretty easy on this day. We walked around the park, rode everyone’s favorites, and had a great lunch before we left.

Where will we eat lunch? Cosmic Ray’s! I love eating here. I know it’s the same burgers you can get just about anywhere else in WDW but I just really like Cosmic Ray’s. I always like hearing Sonny Eclipses funny jokes and singing. Plus, I LOVE the chocolate cake you can get there.

After lunch, we’ll no doubt head into the Emporium again and buy some last minute items. Then it will be time to say goodbye to WDW one final time this trip. I’m sure we’ll start discussing when we’ll be coming back before we even get to the car. I’m working on that even as I type this.

After leaving Disney, we’ll make our way to Ashburn, GA. It’s home to the world’s largest peanut. Doesn’t that sound exciting? We’ll stay at our usual hotel and get a good night’s sleep. Mom and I are going to need it.

Here’s a pic of Lauren having fun in the room:

Up Next: Home Sweet Home! Well, At Least For One Night. - Day 10

Saturday morning we’ll wake up and head from Ashburn back to good old K-Town. We’re hoping to get home before 3:00. Mom and I have a lot of stuff we need to do before the next morning. On Sunday, our church’s choir and orchestra are heading to Washington DC. So I’ll be doing laundry, doing some grocery shopping so Mike and the kids don’t starve while I’m gone, and packing, again. So my TR won’t even be started till after Mom and I get back from our DC trip. But I promise, the TR will have lots of pictures of food (probably a lot of cake pics), and crazy moments with the kids.

Your plans sound great:thumbsup2. I always hate that last full day; it signals the impending return to reality :sad2:.

Great plans. I do hope we run into you guys (besides the meet) Hard to believe we were all at CBR last year on the same days. Leanne too. Were you on the Dis then? Have really enjoyed this PTR! I know there is still 9 days to go :)

Everything sounds wonderful Alicia! I haven't been around on the DIS as much as I would have liked, so I wanted to say that I am glad you had such a wonderful Mother's Day. I love homemade gifts.

That last day is such a bummer Dana! That's when I start trying to think of creative ways to stay (I could drive a bus, sing and dance in a parade, scare people on ToT...).:rolleyes1

I hope we run into you too! I'm so excited about our meet for Illuminations! Isn't it just crazy that we were at CBR? I joined the Dis a couple of years ago but didn't really start posting till this year. I'm so glad I did. It's been great getting to meet and get to know everyone! Thank you Mary! I've enjoyed writing it! I'll be posting our last Disney night at some point. :thumbsup2

Thank you Megan! As we get closer to leaving, I'm finding it harder and harder to get on here. Mother's day was wonderful!

I know my countdown ticker says 8 days but that's till we arrive in Disney. As of today we leave in:

7 DAYS!!!!!!!!

Our final Disney night was a Polynesian theme. No one in particular picked this one. It just seemed like a good one to end with. I went a little crazy on this one. The Dollar Tree had so many good decorations and there was a cake that I had seen at Kroger that I just had to have. I had a couple of challenges cooking this meal: The bread didn’t rise like it was supposed to so Mike had to go buy some at the last minute, I had a little trouble figuring out how to make the pork dumplings, and since the cake had been sitting for so long (I got it at 11:00 am and we didn’t pull it out of the box till almost 6:00 pm) it started to lean and eventually the roof fell off. Anyway, here’s the menu:

Teriyaki Chicken

Glazed Carrots

Bread (was supposed to be ‘Ohana’s Welcome bread but like I said, it didn’t
cooperate with me. So it ended up being sweet mountain bread. It was good!)

Pork Dumplings with Dipping Sauce
