I Can't Believe I Invited My MIL -I'm BAAACK! And determiend to finish this thing!

Aw, meriann... And, yes, absolutely no offense intended to the Army (or the Air Force, or the Navy, or the Coast Guard, or the National Guard) because everyone plays an important part. It's just that Marines are HOORAH.

And, also, we Marine Corps dependents are all brainwashed.

But in a good way.

I hope you can get to Hale Koa, meriann. Maybe for an anniversary? The beachfront bar is wonderful. Oh, yeah, and the beach is nice too. :lmao: And, yeah: sigh. So typical to change orders like that mid-stream. My DSIL is supposed to be coming back from his third (!) tour in Iraq before Christmas. I am holding my breath, crossing my fingers, and trying to tell my daughter not to get her hopes up too high. If he makes it, it will be the first time he has been home for Christmas in five years. He has always been either in Iraq or Germany.

When I hear "civilians" having a melt down over things like traffic, or not getting a room close enough to the food court (YOU'RE AT DISNEYWORLD, AREN'T YOU?) I have to just shake my head. Wanna say: People. Come on.

And some other stuff.

But I won't go there.

Maddog 20/20! Ha ha ha, you all crack me up MRYPPINS. But. Too much of a lady? Hmmm... well...it's sweet of you to say. ;)

I think MRYPPINS' idea of the Pluto shirt is excellent! :thumbsup2

desiab, go for the photo shoot, 20# or not. You are gorgeous.

So, Heather, are you packed yet? :goodvibes You know something goofy? I know I will be so sad when our trip is over I almost don't want to go.

Nahhh....I still want to go. But does anyone know what I mean, or am I just whacked?

I love the "Random Musings"!! Your family is beautiful.

I know what you mean about not being in the pictures. I have vowed to get some photopass pictures just so I can prove I was there with Bill :rotfl:. I can't believe we are both so close to our trips :yay:.

I hope your Princess gets her dream of Pluto hugging her. She is so smart to think about the stroller issue.

Thanks, Mrs. K!!! By the way, when do you get to drop the "someday?" ;) Maybe I could attend your Disney Wedding while we are both at the World in 16 DAYS!!!!!! WHoo hoo!!!

And if we happen to run into each other, we'll make someone else take a picture of US! That way we actually get to be in a pic!

How 'bout making her a snazzy Pluto T-shirt to wear? It could have a cute picture of Pluto on it and say something like "Hug me Pluto and my granny will give you 20 bucks"

Meriann: yup with you on the Purple Passion. We used to drink it from 2 litter bottles

KandiKin: I thought you meant Mad Dog 20/20 when you wrote MM. But you're too much of a lady for that.

My drink of choice now is the bubbly. Mumm NV Brut Cordon Rouge
Yummy!

I am lovin' your T-shirt idea.... I am going to go work up a graphic for that toot sweet (tout suite, for Kandi, who is oh-so-fancy). I hope Pluto can read....

And I totally remember the 2 liter bottles of purple passion. My date bought me one on Prom night - what a guy!! I don't think it had quite the effect he was looking for....I had never drunk a drop before (hard to believe, I know), so I spent 30 minutes giggling uncontrollably, 30 minutes crying my eyes out in the bathroom over nothing, and then passed out. Poor guy.

Have I packed yet? Heck no, woman. Hush your mouth. I will pack at 11pm the night before we leave and not a second before. I don't need all my good underpants and bras packed away in a suitcase for the next 16 days!!! Sheesh!

TMI.;)

You are in the home stretch.......:thumbsup2

I just subscribed to this thread (the first time I've subscribed to any thread) because I haven't stopped laughing for 10 pages. :thumbsup2 Ya'll are all hilarious & this is the most fun I've had all day, which includes a birthday dinner for my own MIL. However, I actually like my MIL because she likes all the same things I do so that's a plus. I'm also saddled w/a step-MIL because my husbands family is clearly dysfunctional. She hooks me up w/a glass of wine (or three) whenever we go to her house so we get along quite well also. Too bad we don't go over there very often. Now my SIL, who planned the b-day dinner...she's a whole 'nother story...

I almost wish I lived farther away from WDW so that I could actually plan a trip but living only 30 minutes away it's not really necessary. That's not to say I don't plan for the day trips. I get a lot of good info about what to bring, where to eat, etc. from this board. I've read a few other TR's & PTR's but this one is by far the most entertaining .:cheer2:

So here's a quick Dumbo story for ya about my 6yo DD. I don't remember if she was 2 or 3 at the time but we got in line for Dumbo & you know how long the line is for Dumbo! Plus this was the week after Christmas so suffice to say we were there for a while. She fell asleep in my arms about halfway through the queue & right before it was our turn my husband decided it would be a good time to come get her. Thanks dear! I was with my son, cousin & her kids. Our wonderful husbands sat out Dumbo. (Neither one is a Disney fan, why there were there I'll never know. Crowd control maybe?) So we ride Dumbo & go back to "the others". This is when my DD wakes up & my DH tells her she rode Dumbo (what did she know?) so she asked him if she liked it. Yep, she sure did! She knows better now.:rotfl:

I'm done now. Ya'll go back to your planning & crafting. I'll just be over here reading & laughing uncontrollably.

Welcome, chick!! :hippie: We are so happy to have another member of our posse!! We are a crazy group, and we're havin' a great time! Right, girls? Oh, (ahem) and guy? Can't forget our token male!! That would be Jordan - he is sort of like our mascot. And for some true hilarity, head yourself on over to our Jordy's little ole PTR... All kinds of madness occuring regularly there as well.

Well, I am sure we all spent about 3 minutes insanely jealous of you for living 30 minutes from The happiest Place on Earth. Then we remember the heat, the traffic, the rain, and the humidity. Oh, and the traffic. Not to mention the traffic. South Carolina is nice....Yes, indeed we do have the heat and certainly the humidity. But we get it a little easier in the Fall and Winter months (I am using those terms loosely, of course). And being 6 hours away from WDW is not too terribly awful. But ok, I am still a teensy bit jealous. How many times a year do you go?

Heather I don't think that I realized that you are in South Carolina. My mother was born and raised there in a lil ole place called Younges Island, SC and her father was from Bluffton, SC. It truly is a small world.

CindyBelly's Dumbo story reminded me of the picture that my DH likes to take each trip

January_31_2007033.jpg

Notice what that naughty elephant is doing? My DH likes to frame some unfortunate soul just right in the picture.

Hey Heather...can we invite Jordan's binder to the trash can party? I think it will bring the beer.

Wow!!! We are probably relations!!! SC is such a tiny little state and everyone is inbred, so trust me: its a real possiblity!!! After all, we do bear a strike resemblance to one another.... :lmao:

Mary Poppins: THAT IS HILARIOUS! I have never noteiced that before!! YOu know I'll be taking that picture in 2 weeks WHEN I AM IN WDW!! And I think your DH and I would get along just fine.

So, what do you think, Jordy? Can Binder bring a case of beer to the trashcan party??

Nothing says "You're leaving for WDW in 12 days" quite like packing up your park bag.

So that's what I gleefully did this morning while THE PRINCESS is at preschool. WHat fun! Now, I have made it quite clear that don't pack clothes and tolietries until the night before I leave. I don't want those aforementioned "good" undergarments packed away for days and days. I need them! But the park bag is perfectly permissible (able? whatever).

So I'm sportin' a Baggallini. I consider this a total DIS-Brainwash. I have a perfectly good Coach backpack I have taken with me on every type of excursion for the past decade, but for some reason I felt I had to have this Baggallini thing. Total DIS-Brainwash. Howevr, I think I am going to like it because it is smaller and lighter than what I am used to. And I am a total sucker for anything with little pockets to jam stuff into. It is not the cutest thing ever, but oh well. Somethings gotta give.

So here is what will be inside:
IMGP0218.jpg

1. Ziplocs of various sizes - for anything wet, sticky, or gross we must take home with us
2. Ponchos - these are actually for the stroller. When it rains, we use rain coats. It is a brilliant concept, people - try it! We each have a windbreaker type hooded jacket that fold up into its own pouch. We keep them in the mesh bag on the back of the stroller. I am not sure what MIL will be doing, but perhaps I should let her know she needs a rain game-plan.
3. Wipes - I have several packets, not just this one. Never fear, I am not that much of an optimist.
4. Medicine bag (that clear thing with pockets) ; Pepto tablets, tylenol (big and little folks), Dramamene (for me), BC powder (a total southern thang, so half of you probably have no clue what that is), sunscreen, etc.
5. First Aid stuff (that red tube thing) - bandaids and Neosporin. I don't carry gauze, burn ointment, a tourniquet, or a splint. First Aid is available there, and if we need more than a bandaid and a kiss, we'll avail ourselves of this service.
6. Videa camera
7. Kleenex (also seevral packs of this)
8. Blue bag - my lipstick, chapstick and powder (a girl must look decent for pictures now, ya'll....)
9. Camera - will go in the side pocket, but it is not there in this picture...Can you guess why?
10. Water bottle - will go in side mesh pocket
11 - planning notebook
12. Crayons - I have thes on me at all times
13. A few more things: sunglasses, credit cards, money, ID and KTTW in the front organizer zipper section

So there we have it!! I travel pretty light. I take only what I think it is quite likely we will need. Everything else can really be purchased in the parks, albeit at a hiked up price. Still, the hiked up price is worth the tradeoff of a light pack to haul around, since chances of us actually needing the stuff are pretty slim.

That's just how I roll.

It's got a lime green(?) polkie-dotted ribbon! She is brainwashed!

JG, you gave up a Coach backpack for a Baggalini?

Okay. Well darlin', that's very democratic of you.

:snooty:

I'm still on a quest for The Perfect Park Bag, myself. I found an adorable Dooney and Bourke in denim, but it doesn't zip closed and so stuff may fall out. :upsidedow Plus it doesn't have enough little pockets. Plus is Disney really the place for designer? Isn't that just a shade...oh, I dunno. Tacky, maybe?

But it is soooo cute. Sigh. Oh well.

Life is hard. Perserverance. I must perservere.

12 days! :woohoo: Lucky girl.

Yes, Ma'am.

And of course your personal bag has polka dot ribbon on it! Too funny!

I was certainly hoping someone would pick up on that!!! I should have known it would be my goodbuddy Sep, who not only loves polkie-dotted ribbon her own self, but is also quite smart.

Exactly! Point made!! What else would possess me to leave behind my beloved Coach for a $30 Baggallini? Sigh... BRAINWASHING! Blame it on the Dis (Don't try to tell me you aren't humming Milli Vanilla right now. Cuz I am). But seriously, in addition to the brainwashing, the Coach bag only has one big pocket, with a small zipper section inside. The Baggallini has about 674 little pockets for crap. Woo hoo!! I do love me a crap pocket!

Plus, the Coach backpack is literally 9 years old. I bought it right after I got hitched. But I still love it. The leather is so soft at this point it is practically Egyptian cotton.

Cool backpack! Just make sure it is always with you. Not on a bus all alone.:thumbsup2

Amen, sister!! I, like you, have learned my lesson well! And the hard way!
<see Kelly's TR if you are completely lost>

Thanks for the Holla.:)

Yes, Ma'am.

Awesome!! Drink up, Dudes! Thanks, Jordy! <rubbing Jorday's head in a way-to-go-kid fashion>

Shall I admit that it took me a second? :rotfl:

Um, no. No, you should admit that to no one. Ever.

JK! Love ya! Mean it!!! We all have our little blonde moments from time to time. I mean, Kandi pays good money to gie herself a blonde moment all day long.....

Hi Heather!

Just found your pretrippie. Started browsing to see who will there at the same time we will be there. And guess what? We will both be at Sea World at the same time!! WOOHOO!!!!

Woo hoo!!! Go Sea World! Go Sea World!

YOu know, I have had 2nd thoughts about our Sea World day from the very beginning....I hear it is a great park (haven't been there since I was 12), but I hate to give up any Disney time, if you KWIM. I mean, I loves whales as much as the next chick, but Shamu is not the mouse. You dig?

But MIL works for Anheuser Busch (woo hoo!), and she got the tix for free. She is so darn happy with herself I just can't say no.... Can I? SHould I? Can you give me some motivation for my visit to Sea World????

Hmmmm.....It's Educational for the kiddies??

I know what you mean. If it was up to me I would have said EXTRA DAY AT DISNEY, fo' sure! But DH, who is not as fanatical as his wife and offsprings :scared1: wants to go there. And we got some awesome deals on the tixs so I can't say no. What I keep telling is that it is educational and I think I have convinced myself.:rotfl:

Love the pre-trip! Can you let a Northern girl know what BC powder is? :lmao:
