I did this.... it wasn't a bit fun. The first thought that went through my mind when I realized I was about to crash was: "Bummer. There goes my weekend."

Ouch! So sorry about your beloved Beetle, but super glad that you are okay. Those airbags are scary - since I have short legs, I am very, very afraid of my airbag going off (have to sit closer to the wheel than *normal* people). Hope you are feeling better soon!
