and sold it 2 weeks later. I bought off ebay, with shipping cost $46 USD to Canada. Well, I got some recipes to try. I have to say I was not very happy with the purchase.

Waffler worked perfectly, but single waffles takes long time to make and they actually were more like pancakes than the fluffy waffles you get at disney.

And I did follow their recipe, as well as 2 others. And I spent a long time preparing the waffle mixture. My dd 8 didn't think they were like disney mickey waffles and didn't want them after the first time I tried them with her. My ds 3 ate it but didn't care either way.

So before any other moms rush out to purchase it to make the wonderful breakfasts I planned for my kids, think twice about it. It would probably be easier to buy ready made frozen waffles in circle shapes and cut out the ears to make a mickey head instead.

I'm sure for some people this purchase was great, but I was thrilled to get $45 Cdn dollars back by selling it on Craigslist. Use the money you'd spend on the waffler and go for a breakfast in disney instead.

I'm sorry that you didn't like your Mickey waffle iron. I have the single-waffle iron, too and I like mine. I use a recipe that I have for making Belgian waffles on a regular waffle iron and they turn out just as fluffy and light. But I do agree that it does take a lot of time when you're only putting out one at a time. I wouldn't consider making waffles for a crowd with it. Thank goodness you were able to get back what you paid for it by reselling.

Two of my friends went in together and purchased the Mickey Now and Then waffler for me for my birthday last May. It makes 4 square waffles at once, and I love it! I usually use it once or twice a month, and for special occassions(first day of school, teacher workdays, holidays). I had wanted the mickey-shaped waffle iron, but after being able to make 4 at once, I would probably never have time for a single waffler.

I haven't purchased a waffle maker yet....but, I plan on getting one this Christmas after we move into our new house.

After reading a few posts on The Dis about the waffle makers, I've decided to purchase the "4 at a time" Mickey Waffle Maker.

Here's a link:
http://www.amazon.com/VillaWare-V5555-02-Mickeys-Four-at-a-Time-Waffler/dp/B000050FAS

Most of the posters mentioned how long it took to cook for the family when making only one waffle at a time. I figured the 4 waffle maker would go a little quicker.

I've seen them cheaper than the listed $56.95 in the past....but, I will be looking for a deal from now until Christmas.

Speed :teleport:

I have the Mickey waffle iron. We use it all the time. I will say, though, that the waffle recipe from the book is GROSS!! You need to try another.

Maggie

I have a regular waffle iron that makes 4 at a time. I buy the Belgian Waffle Mix at walmart.....I didnt have luck with waffle mixes, but the premix makes great waffles that taste like restaurant quality !!

Hi, I always use KRUSTEAZ Belgian Waffle Mix :thumbsup2 (just add eggs, water and oil) and get the BEST results! Their PANCAKE mix is also THE BEST and you only add water. Great for making those MICKEY pancakes! Joan

OOPS Joan thats the one I buy I meant to type that....been doing those great freebies all day and my brain and fingers are tired.....I LOVE that mix.

Isn't it the BEST! And SOOO easy! I also tried the make from scratch recipe, but did not get good results. The mix is fast and I never mind making up a fresh batch of waffles in my MICKEY waffle maker! MY DS LOVES them with mini-chocolate chips mixed in. Joan

I use that same waffle mix - it is good. Sometimes I put a dash of cinnamon in. It is so good. I also love my waffler for quesadillas. They are so cute!

Does anybody have the one mentioned above? How thick are the waffles? I had a tweety one a few years ago, and they weren't thick, so just wondering.

I got one for Christmas a year ago and it broke the second time i used it the light came off-and I just wasn't happy with how it worked.

My mom and I share one, which reminds me... We use presidents choice pancake mix and use the waffle recipie on the side of the box. They do take a while, but I find they freeze great

Last year I bought the Mickey Now and Then waffle maker for a great deal at the Disney outlet. I ended up paying under $30 for it. :cool1: It did take some time to find a great waffle mix though. I think I ended up modifying one of the ones in either the book that comes with it or in my Betty Crocker cookbook. Can't remember which one but I know I had to modify it and the trial and error was not so yummy. Anyways

In a blender (makes it easy to pour) whip up 2 eggs until they get a bit fluffy. Add approx 1 3/4 cup milk, approx 1 tbls brown sugar and half a cup of cinnamon applesauce (one of the plastic snack cups is perfect). Give it a short go around to mix it up then add 2 cups of Bisquick. Pulse this until the dry is just mixed and not lumpy. Pour into hot waffle iron and leave it about 30 -45 seconds longer after the light turns green.

I always freeze the leftovers between layers of paper towels in a freezer ziploc and the girls eat them just like Eggos but they taste better.

I don't have the mickey waffle maker but I recently bought a cheapy $11 waffle maker from Mejiers and I just use Aldi's .99 pancake mix in it and it makes yummy waffles :). I do add vanilla to the batter, though.

Another tip for lighter/fluffier waffles is, if your recipe calls for water replace it with the same amount of club soda (from a newly-opened bottle - it's the bubbles :))
