I am waitlisted - now what!!

I waitlisted for an additional night for our upcomming trip. I am looking for Sunday Night, 2/20, at SSR, we check in on Monday 1/21. They have me as auto confirm, so they will just do it and send out the reservation. But how soon do they send it out. I could have gotten it, but not receive my letter till a week later. I am now wondering for piece of mind if I should call back and have them call me if it comes available!! Especially because I have to cancel a night I have elsewhere!

I would call them back and change it. You're right, there can sometimes be a week delay in knowing whether or not you got it with the auto confirm.

Are you really talking about 1/20? Wasn't that last week?

Yes & give them a phone number you can always be reached at so there won't be any concern of missing the call. 2/20 is going to be a busy day as it is the big Sunday arrival day of President's week. Good luck on your waitlist!

Note that the waitlist is eliminated 7 days prior to the date you want to get. At that point your only option is to place daily (hourly?) calls to MS asking if there are any openings for your desired date.

So, if you haven't been notified by the time you reach that 7-day mark, start calling MS regularly to see if something has come available.
