I am stressing about our XMas week waitlist

We are waitlisted day-by-day for Dec. 27th and 28th at BW. It seems like we've been waitlisted forever (well, since 11 months), and it's not coming up at all. I'm stressing because we're going to be there with family. They are also waitlisted for a studio anywhere for the same timeframe w/no luck Should we be thinking about making cash reservations somewhere, or are we going to be out-of-luck with that too

I would make some cash reservations as a back up. Just be sure what the refund policy is.

Doesn't it sometimes work out that you make alternate plans, and the original comes through? Pixie dust for your waitlist!

Are you trying for a standard view or a guaranteed Boardwalk view? If not, I am surprised that you didn't get what you wanted at the 11 month window.

I agree about having a back up plan.

CarolMN, originally we had standard view at 11 months. We only had the first 2 nights, though, and we were waitlisted for the other 3. We were surprised at that too, but we figured that it would come through soon enough. When it didn't come through by summer, I called MS and checked availability. We then switched to a preferred view because we could get the first 3 days that way instead of the 2 that we had w/the standard view. Then we waitlisted for the last 2 days, and those are the ones we're still waiting on. Next year I'll know better than to try to save a few points by booking the standard view and waitlisting. I think we could have had all 5 days in a preferred view at 11 months.

Thanks for the extra info - now I know why you had to use the waitlist at 11 months.

For the week between Christmas and New Year's, you need to book day by day to get standard view or guaranteed BW view. If you are willing to do that, you can still save points next year (by getting a SV) and you won't have to use the waitlist.

If you only want to make one call, you will have to be happy with PV-Pool/Garden to avoid the waitlist.

That said, no matter what view I wanted, I would book 12/31 as soon as the window opens. That is the most popular night of the year at the BWV. It really is "Snooze and you lose" for New Year's Eve!

I just got a call today for my waitlist for 12/26-29th (not BWV )...but WL (which I never thought I would get)...I think I will still stay on the BWV BWview...but I am going to snap up the WL while I can...I just wish MS was open on weekends.

If cash is available..you could do that...but there is still a possibility.
What are you waiting for? Standard or BWView?-sounds like you switched fom the std to the view..but did you remain on the std Wait List? Because otherwise you went to the bottom of the list in the summer-right, which ment you are now behind everyone who requested at the 7month mark. I am hoping you stayed on the standard(or what ever you requested at 11 months out).
I am sure Disney will have rooms to release...or at least I hope so!!!
