I was not one of the lucky ones 2 months ago that got the double rewards for Disney Store purchases. I complained about this and just got the old " this wasn't a promotion for everybody" and " it was just a test". Have been checking to see if the promotion was back or was going on to no avail. So....on August 29th, I went in to buy almost $800 in tickets for our upcoming trip. Today, I go on to the Disney Visa website to check my account balance and find out the same double point promotion started on September 1!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called and the customer service representative said I should have checked the website for offers. I told her that on the 28th, there was no mention of it. She was going to check to see if they could make good with me but I don't have much faith in them.

I have been very disappointed with the Disney Visa (as far as the limited rewards/ benefits are concerned) and this just adds to it!

I too did not get the offer the first time. I have been waiting to buy our AP to see if there would be another offer. I would have been mad if I were in your situation. I think I have to make a trip to the DS to buy my AP's finally.

Just jumping in here because I like the title of the post

Does your Disney Visa card work at Target? Mine doesn't - I've even had 2 new ones sent to me because I love Target and I used to shop there often, but since my card is rejected when I try to use it, causing people behind me to wait and get upset about waiting, , the cashiers look at me like I am the scum of the earth. There is no problem with the card working at any other store, and I always have credit available. Management at Target has been very rude. I don't shop there anymore.

I'm also disappointed. I only had 40 points so I cashed it in for $20 gift cards for my kids to use to buy souveniers when we went last week. When they tried to use them at the Disney Stores in the resort and parks they were told they were only good at the Disney stores at the malls. Guess I'll go back to the GM card!

Is this double point thing for all holders of the Disney Visa? I have one but can't get the website to work for me. When I put in my info it tells me theres an error. Guess I should call them and see. I have 3) 6 day PHP tickets to buy.

You either ordered the wrong cards or were sent Disney Store cards instead of WDW cards. There are actually 3 different rewards: Disney Store, WDW and DL dream dollars certificates. You cannot use the rewards meant for one place at any of the others.

I didn't get any extra rewards either. Talk of being mad. I bought 3 airline tickets online (USAir) the NEXT day an email saying buy 3 tickets get one free and then another email Earn triple miles to Orlando thru 9-30. Of course since I bought my tickets without first using the promo code I wasn't eligible!

Just wanted to give credit where credit was due. I contacted BankOne about not getting credit for my Disney Store purchase for 4 Park Hopper tickets on August 29th before the double point point promotion started on September 1 (even thought their Customer Service Dept told me the week before that that type of promotion was not on their records for the upcoming months). BankOne on the phone was VERY nice and said they would look into it. I also sent an email to them which came back 4 days later (even though they promise they will contact you within 2 days) basically saying "we are sorry" but tough. I than get a call from someone at Disney (BankOne relations or something like that) saying they totally understand my situation and will look into it. Not expecting to hear anything back (though I did appreciate it that it had made its way to Disney) I was surprised when I got a call back from Disney saying they had contacted BankOne and would make good on the double points. Thumbs up to Disney, thumbs down to BankOne.

And to think that the Disney Visa is suppossed to be a replacement for the Disney Club?!?!?

Isn't this just one of those "sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don't" situations? I mean, yes, it would be nice to have gotten the extra points-- but does anyplace notify you of EVERY SINGLE promotion, in advance, so you can plan around it? I don't want to start an argument but I don't see the reason for being so mad.

BankOne said I should not only have been told about this promotion when I talked to them the week before September 1st but that I should have received notification of the promotion in my last credit card statement, which I did not. And yes, I usually do receive adequate notice from my other credit cards of promotions. BankOne admitted they were trying to get better about this as they have had many (according to the Disney Rep.) complaints about the Disney Visa.

I don't see why you would be mad at Disney Visa or anyone else. If a promotion starts an hour after you buy something, those are the breaks. They didn't do anything wrong, they don't owe you anything.

I think these days more and more people are expecting too much, feel that they are owed, that rules don't apply to them. I have never responded to a post in this way, always going along with everything, but lately these boards are filled with complaints and whinings and demands. And then when Disney or Visa or whoever won't give in to some people, they badmouth.

It's so disappointing to miss a promotion, it annoys me and frustrates me. But it's not Disney's fault or Visa's fault. It's my fault.

:(

what you mean. These boards are also full of self-rightous know it alls that like to tell others (that are just here sharing information, frustrations, nervousness, etc. in what was a friendly and supportive atmosphere) how they should act and think. It is a shame.

If you're referring to me, please see that I have never responded to a post in a disagreeable way. I meant no harm, but I do have an opinion to share.

I've learned that many people on this board do not like opposing opinions even when they are specifically asking for them and they are worded as nicely as possible. They especially do not like some friendly constructive criticism and will fight back with the famous "self righteous" line. It is a shame.

I believe that the OP does not have an "entitlement" mentality. There is a legitimate complaint here. Prior to making this large purchase, Kapp looked into the possibility of there being a double rewards promotion. There was none mentioned on the website. There wasn't one in Kapp's August bill. I, personally, do not recall seeing one in my August bill either. However, my billing cycle may have something to do with when I receive promotional inserts. My September bill should arrive soon and I'm betting that the info will be in this one.

And while BankOne does not owe anyone a retroactive credit for promotions, it would be good for customer relations. I know that I would be more than a little bit upset if I had just made a one-time purchase of that magnitude only to find out a couple of days later that I could have gotten double rewards for it. Had it been for any other mechandise purchase, the items could have been returned and repurchased after Spetember 1. But park hoppers are non-refundable and cannot be returned.

I'm glad to see that Disney is not looking the other way with complaints such as these. I hope that Kapp gets the double rewards dollars for the park hopper purchases. The cost to Disney for doing so is $8 (retail) . The negative PR from not doing so is immeasureable.

Well, I'm one that will always try and get what I want. You can only ask and they can only say no. So what's the harm in trying?!

If Disney couldn't have done anything, I wonder if you could have just canceled your purchase and repurchased what you needed to get the double points.??

Not important since you got it taken care of. :Pinkbounc

Just my two cents...

kudos to the OP for following through on this. Glad things worked out. If it is Bankone's policy to announce a promo prior to it's effective date and they did not do this then they should make good in this case. I don't see any entitlement here, I would have done the same thing!

WOW I was wondering when this topic when make it into a disscussion!!
I was previously a bank one cust. A lot of companies had merged to make it into bank one.(first usa, chevy chase, etc.) I had tried to transfer into the disney card but was told that I could not. I have a platium card and had always paid in full all the time. They wanted a reapply, that's right.

After steaming about this for a few days, I decide to go to bank of america, and see where it landed, well we got an increase of our platium, not to mention air miles to any airline, and not even the hassle!!

I will never do any business with bank one, because I have had nothing but headaches for a long time with the company. And if you are wondering how long I had the former card, sice 1995.

I beleive disney made a bad choice with that company - and each to his own opinions.

To look at things on the brighter side, I can now fly down with my earned miles!!! When to me means a lot more to my family.

In my last statement, they did have an insert stating double points. It was a very small flimsy insert that could easily have been disregarded. I know I usually take my statement out and disregard the rest but I know I saw it in there the last time.
