I am so mad at Disney Visa!!!!!!

I got my statement yesterday and guess what was in it? Yep! The double rewards points offer. Gezz! The month is almost half-way over and this is when they inform me about the promotion? It's a good thing that I have the DIS Boards to refer to!

Is this double rewards offer still good? I have to get DH an annual pass. We're going down after Thanksgiving and would buy the pass now to get those doube rewards

Thanks for the answer. I'll have to go up and get my DH annual pass this week (I already have one as I go down more than he does)and hopefully it will show up on my statement that's due to come in. Seeing they were back ordered a few weeks ago I want to get mine so I know I have them when we go down. I wonder if it will be in my statement this month???? I'm upset enough at how the reward $$'s work. You can't use them to pay for an entire meal or bill. Only like 20%.

And while BankOne does not owe anyone a retroactive credit for promotions, it would be good for customer relations.

Good customer relations shouldn't mean that someone gets something that they weren't entitled to in the first place.

While the OP's story appears to be different, I agree that too many times I hear people say "Well it can't hurt to ask to get what I want even if I'm not eligible for it".

Well, I disagree.

I think it takes a BIG set of beachballs to go into a store (or whatever) to see if they'll let you slide on a missed sale or promotion.

Chalk it up to bad luck/poor timing/my car broke down/etc and move on.

Worse yet is those that will bad mouth a business when they don't get their way when they shouldn't.

If someone really deserves to get something they missed out on because of an error that the company made, then it doesn't hurt to ask and that would be considered good customer relations if the company made good on the offer.

Call me holier-than-thou if you like. I don't care.

Where did you find this information? I was under the impression that you could use them to pay for anything in full. That's why they have the disclaimer that no change will be given if you do not spend the entire $10 value of the certificate on your purchase.

So far, I've personally responded to this same thing three times and it's been discussed numerous times in other threads. What you're reading that from is just an example of how you can use your DDRD - just an example! You can pay a partial bill, you can pay a full bill, you can pay any amount of any bill you like. Why do people keep reading it wrong?!?

I'll let you know for sure in a few weeks. Friends left today and have about 50.00 in rewards dollars. She told me that on the slip you get with your rewards dollars that it states only about 20% of the bill can be paid in rewards dollars. So we'll see what really happens when she uses hers. Has anyone out there been to Disney and used rewards dollars yet!

We used the reward dollars a few weeks ago to pay in full for several things...meals, a fireworks cruise, etc...no problem anywhere they use them just like gift certificates...because I am...ummm shall we say thrifty....I never wanted to waste any of my hard earned reward dollars....so if the bill was $85, I gave them 8 of the $10 reward certificates and put the other $5 on the room charge or paid in cash...They did remind us at several places that they could not give change for unused portions of the $10 certificate (so if I had given them $90 in certificates I would have lost the other $5), but that does not seem unreasonable to me.

I never tried to use any of them at counterservice rest. or sidewalk vendors...just wondering if anyone else ever tried? Not sure if they are good there, but all the sit down rest. and rec places took them without question.

We had used the card since it came out in March for all of my household purchases (groceries, gas, clothes, etc) and had made some sizeable appliance and computer purchases and put them on this card....it really adds up (had about $300 for this trip)...

Now I will throw in my 2 cents about the double points promotion...on an $800 purchase that I seem to recall the original poster had made she would get $8 under the usual 1% plan... and another $8 under the double points plan...she is thriftier than me if she was willing to make umpteen phone calls and emails over an extra $8. While I agree the double points are nice I just think life is WAY too short to get totally upset over $8.

Thanks for clarifying the question on the Disney Card Rewards. It's good to hear someone that has actually used it. I agree 8.00 is worth arguing over but sometimes its just the principal of the matter. Have to get my DH an annual pass and will definately go to the Disney store this weekend and get it. Might as well get those Disney Rewards for our up coming trip. How long did it take to get the certificates after you ordered them? That's good thinking on your part to only use them in 10.00 increments. Why waste them. I like your thinking and will do the same. Thanks for the good tip.

To the poster who said that they can't use their Visa at Target. I have used mine there several times.

I know that Target has some trouble with different credit cards at times. I remember on 2 occasions that they stopped me from sliding my CC in the machine and they did it at the register, stating that they have problems with cards getting eaten or just not working.

hows this for disappointing, I didn't know about the double rewards until I read about it here, after I spent $97.00 at Disney.com. It's all my fault, I should have either paid more attention, or spent more money. Oh well, I still like the card, it will help to feed us when we return to the world.

Does your Disney Visa card work at Target? Mine doesn't - I've even had 2 new ones sent to me because I love Target and I used to shop there often, but since my card is rejected when I try to use it, causing people behind me to wait and get upset about waiting, , the cashiers look at me like I am the scum of the earth. There is no problem with the card working at any other store, and I always have credit available. Management at Target has been very rude. I don't shop there anymore.
Target, nor any other retailer as a matter of fact, has the power to deny a VISA card because of the "type" of VISA it is. The arguement you have is with the issuer of the card, NOT Target.
When you tried to use it, did you insert it yourself? and then did the cashier try to swipe it? Target recently installed the new smart card readers and have had some problems with those machines (like another poster mentioned). But if the cashier swiped it and it was declined, that is something you need to take up with the issuer of the card, which is Bank One.
As for management being rude, no, that is not right. It may have just been a misunderstanding. The manager may have felt that you were blaming them for the card not going through.....and they know, that just isn't correct. There are lots of reasons for cards not to be accepted.......like late payments (who knows, you may have thousands $$ available but if your payment gets held up in the mail.....) or sometimes simply computer glitches.

Did you call Band One? What was their response?
