Mashed potatoes, jello, Strawberry Quik, ice cream...

What else can I eat??? I'm not in any real pain, but the right side of my mouth is really sore. And I'm terrified that something I eat will cause an infection.

HELP! Please!!!

DD2 took forever to get her teeth, so I had to get very creative with her. Some of the things she loved was stuffing, Campbell's veggie soup drained (and well rinsed to get rid of the excess sodium), "overcooked" pasta, apple sauce, pudding, yogurt, rice. Also, you can make soups that require pureeing or are not "chunky".

Good luck. DD1 has had teeth pulled (and will prbably have more teeth pulled as she gets older since her teeth are VERY crowded). It's no fun trying to find things you can eat when your mouth hurts!

MMM... the drained veggie soup sounds yummy... I really like that broth. I almost bought baby food at the grocery store earlier today!

Noodles or chicken broth?

Nothing warm for a while though, right. Especially when trying to close the gums.

Have you tried carnation instant breakfast drink. Mix it in milk. Make sure it is not the diet stuff. It tastes just like chocolate milk and actually has some vitamins and nutrients.

No straw though. for the same reason as nothing warm.

I hope you feel better soon.

apple sauce, yogurt, well ripened bananas.
cook a baked potato and mash it up with some butter and or your favorite seasonings. Itialian spices or cheese or ...
Boiled carrots are pretty mushy, almost any canned veggy.. heheheheee

Oh! how about a P,B&J sammich? on soft white bread...

oh yeah... how do i know when my gums are closed? i'm terrified that i'm going to get some kind of food stuck in them and they'll get infected. am i being ridiculous?

NOT rice. I had an tooth pulled once and ate some. A grain of rice got in the tooth socket and wow did it hurt! I would never have thought cooked white rice could feel like a rock but it can.

Maybe some soft scrambled eggs?

Hope you feel better soon.

You should be fine to eat food that is a little warm. I never had that restriction with my wisdom teeth removal.

The one thing I did was make a PB&J sandwich and squished it so it was a little flat. I then pulled off small pieces and ate it that way.

Bananas are also good. As is applesauce and the Instant Breakfast.

Don't worry about getting food stuck. As long as you do the rinse after you eat you will be fine!

When Larry had several teeth extracted he was on the same type of diet for several days. He ate lots and lots of pudding. I got a lot of different flavors to keep it from being the same old thing. He also had some Jello. You can add cool whip on top of those to make them even better. Soft scrambled eggs are good. The sweet potato sounds great - now I want one. ;)

Stay away from oatmeal for a while for the same reason as the rice.

Cream of soups are also a good choice. I'm trying to think of a way to thin down peanut butter so it doesn't stick so much to everything in your mouth. I love the honey roasted peanut butter.

Good luck with your healing!

I say split pea soup or tomato soup with melted cheese. I don't have any dental issues, so I don't know how that would feel (and hope I never find out). Hope you feel better soon.

I would go with yogurt. It has the beneficial bacteria so I would think it would help fight infection. Are you rinsing with one of the anti bacterial mouth washes? I think Listerine is the one recommended. That will help fight the bacteria also.

Take care:flower3:
