I Am So Eager For Spring.....

I am so eager for Spring that I bought 3 lilac bushes at Costco yesterday! DH came home and looked at me like I was nuts!! He wants to know what I think I am going to do with them for the next 2 or 3 months until we can put them in the ground so they don't freeze at night! Hey....who knows!!?? All I know is they had some green buds coming out of them and I was cosmically drawn to them by forces unseen!!

Same here. Although it doesn't get as cold as most parts of the U.S. we have had a colder winter.
I planted a bunch of bulbs and they are starting to sprout, so I can't wait till those bloom. I am hoping to have a variety of different flowers together by the time it is Easter.

Susan, did you plant the lily bulbs yet?

I have been letting them "rest" in the brown paper bag. We had such a "warm" January I was ready to plant them in pots in the house and now it has gotten to be so cold that I think I will wait. We usually have frigid winds and well below 0 chill factors in January and we are having them now instead of last month. The house is very cool right now so I think I will wait another week or two and see if things warm up a bit!! I will send you a picture when they start taking off! I am so excited to get them planted!!

I'm wondering what color your flowers will be, can't wait to see pictures.

Okay, Patsy....I am pulling out potting soil and decorative pots and getting things planted around here! I brought a big clay pot into the house to plant the lilacs until the snow is gone so I am going to plant those lily bulbs too! I am hoping things will start warming up around here soon as the days have been more sunny lately....although it did snow again last night! I'll take pictures....

oh boy am I ever ready for Spring. I hate winter so much. I want and need so badly to see green grass and feel warmth when I go outside. No more heavy winter coats weighing me down!

It's spring here already!! And I love it! Walked out my door yesterday at 10am and the weather was perfect! About 70 degrees and a very nice breeze blowing! Weather has been this way since the last few days of February! Gotta love FL in early March!

I wish I could talk DH into moving to Florida! He can't stand the idea of leaving the mountains behind!
