I Am NOT a Bad, Bad Baby -- TR final updates 9/12

love the mermaid makeover. so cute :)

We love IASW. We had fun riding right before park closing with no one in our boat. What's not to love about a song that gets stuck in your head for the rest of your trip ;)

15 min to see the Frozen ladies, :thumbsup2, I keep reading about the line being like 5 hours long

Can't wait to see what's in store for Miss Cayley :goodvibes

The Pirate's League looks so neat! The boys were both too young last year, but maybe when we can go again they might want makeovers.

Kathy, I'm so sorry that I am so late checking in! Life has been completely crazy here and I literally haven't been even reading my emails! Anyway I'm here now and hopefully I'll get caught tonight or tomorrow!

I want to be a mermaid ... Oh wait, I am much too old for that!
Love the A&E meet and greet pics - thank heavens for FP+!
By the way, I can't remember if I thanked you for introducing me to the Turtle Krawl .... Many were enjoyed at OKW a couple of weeks ago ;-)

Awwww the mermaid makeover was so cute! I'll bet the girls were just over the moon to get to meet Anna and Elsa!

Your lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern looks yummy. We've only eaten there once but we really liked it. We would've gone back this time but we HAD to do Be Our Guest since we had never done that before.

Loving the trip report!

Hi Kathy and Mary. The girls are growing so fast, and they just keep getting cuter! Your girls trips always look like so much fun! Looking forward to reading more.

I'm here I'm here!!! Sorry it took me so long to find you! I got some catching up to do!!

Joining in, trip looks fabulous so far!

Sorry for everything that your family is enduring right now. Stay strong Kathy! Things will look up eventually.

wow, Avery's Mermaid Makeover looks great!

Didn't it turn out great? She looked beautiful.

Congrats on surviving It's a Small World ;)

Thanks; it was a little scary there for awhile. :rotfl:

Wow - great you got the golden fastpass to meet A&E - looks like a ton of fun, especially with Anna

Mary took care of that one. And so glad she did. It was one of our best character meets of the trip.

Love Avery's mermaid makeover. How cool is that!

I almost wanted to do it because it was so cool.

Lunch looks yummy!

It really was; LTT has become a favorite.

I absolutely love all the Frozen PP pictures. They turned out great! And I love Mary's shirt!

Fun update!

Thanks; we had a lot of fun with Ana and Elsa.

What a nice morning!
Avery looks beautiful as a mermaid!!

It was; after a good night's sleep and not rushing to be anywhere, it was perfect. I agree that Av looked beautiful.

Glad you got to meet Anna and Elsa without a 4 hour wait! Not sure that my kids want to do it so I don't know that I'll try for a FP+ for December. And I can't ask them because it's a surprise! I think they'll be okay. They didn't want to wait an hour at DL for it.

I am too; there is no way I would be waiting 4 hours for anyone...well, unless they were offering me a million dollars.

Avery looks great as a mermaid :)

I thought so too Amber.

Mmm, Liberty Tree Tavern looks delicious.

It is; and that cake is so yummy.

It's crazy that the FP+ wait is still like 15 to 20 minutes most of the time, but much better than the crazier 5 hour waits from before.

I think this is because they do take the time to chat with your group and it's still "new" so people want to talk to them.

Also, I love your shirts ;)

Thanks; I wish we'd had one for Avery. But Ana loved my shirt. :)

What a lovely little mermaid! It's nice that they have another option for those who don't want a princess makeover.

I think it's great becasue as they get older they don't all want to dress as princesses and those dresses look darn hot to me.

We love Liberty Tree Tavern. So delish!

Definitely a keeper on my list (wish I could fit it in for September).

Perfect shirts for your meet with Anna and Elsa!

We did that well!

I'm curious. What is your other least favorite attraction?

Carrousel of Progress!!!!!

Luvin Avery's mermaid make-over and yay you got to meet Frozen characters :goodvibes

Thanks, Emma. It was really fun meeting Ana and Elsa.

Wow, love Avery's make over, that's cute!
Lunch looks good, especially dessert! Yumm

Isn't it cute? I seriously should have done it myself. Lunck was very good, dessert was excellent.

Awww I love iasw! Hehe I get all nostalgic about it.

I know you do.

Yay for meeting Anna and Elsa! Great pictures with the ladies!

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

We had a lot of fun with Ana and Elsa.

Looks like a really nice morning...well, except for the Small World party. Good job using the FP+ to see Anna and Elsa! I'm can't fathom waiting over 2 hours in line for a character meet.

Yeah, that SW party was the only off thing of the morning. 2 hours? Try 4 hours.

Love Liberty Tree Tavern!

We do too! I may just have to squeeze it in during our September trip.

Avery is such a cute mermaid! How fun.

Katie, it was fun, especiallya fter they were done and they'd introduce the newest mermaid or pirate.

Your lunches all look good; I have eating at LTT for the first time in September and I am pretty excited.

I think you will enjoy it. I have a feeling we already discussed this (forgive me...my mind plays tricks on me sometimes...do we overlap?)

LOVE your Frozen pictures! Very, very cute. :thumbsup2

Thank you. :)

I didn't know that "mermaid" was an option there! I'm guessing Emily will be doing that next year :)

Oh Emily would look absolutely adorable as a mermaid!

You don't like IASW? Blasphemy!

No, I don't. But I am a good sport and do it with the girls and once a trip for my husband.

I need to spend some more time in that Tangled area! It's so pretty but always super crowded when I'm there so I move on.

It really is very pretty.

So sad that you didn't get to see all of Wishes on your trip. :sad1: But at least you got a little bit in.

It was good to see part of it.

The Mermaid makeover looks gorgeous! I loved seeing pictures of that area because I've never seen that in another TR before.

I don't think I've ever seen pictures from the inside either. It's a little "crowded", but it was fun.

Mmmmmmm that cake looks delicious!

Trust me, it was.

I'm glad to see that you survived IASW. :rotfl:

Barely!

Yeah for the meet with Anna and Elsa. Glad you guys were able to get a FP+ for them. I'm going to try to get one for my December trip. The pictures with them turned out really cute. I just read that they have split them up though so you see one at a time.

Yes, I saw someone's pictures somewhere and they have been split up.

Well... yay for seeing Wishes on your first night. Kind of.

It was better than nothing.

Boo for not seeing it again. :sad2:

But I'll see it in September. :)

:lmao::rotfl2: Is there any other way to ride?

That is the only one that I hold my arms up on.

She certainly makes a very good mermaid. It looks like she enjoyed it! :thumbsup2

She was very happy with her results.

If you'd put that in front of me, there would be no sharing. :rotfl2::lmao:

Typical guy.

For an attraction you don't like, you sure took a lot of pictures. :rolleyes1

I had to do something so I wouldn't fall asleep or jump overboard. :lmao::lmao:

The mermaid makeover on Avery is simply beautiful! The colors looks so pretty on her!

I loved the colors...they went well with her outfit.

It's been years since we've eaten at Liberty Tree Tavern and that was for dinner. Lunch looks better than what we had at dinner.

I wouldn't like dinner because Thanksgiving dinner is one of my least favorite meals.

Yay for meeting the Frozen Princesses! I know that the girls had to be delighted.

They were, as were us big girls.

Looks like you had a great ending to your evening in the MK! What a busy first day!!

No Wishes?! :sad2: Not so disappointing when you know you are going back real soon.

I love the ability to have a quick breakfast in the room and then head out. Not to mention, it saves a lot of $$.

Avery's mermaid makeover is so cute!!

Ohhhh, the coveted FP+ for the Frozen duo. Was it worth it? Did it live up to all the hype?

Lunch looked good. I haven't eaten at LTT since 2006. We did dinner there just before the MNSSHP. Still had characters then and they were in their costumes. Meal was good, but the character interaction was great fun!

:thumbsup2 YES! We will definitely do it Kathy!!

Good girl!

And my girls think that pic of the building looks elegant (their words). We did online check-in this morning :dance3:

Well, it is...I think the lobby is beautiful (not GF beautiful, but beautiful nonetheless.

LOVE the makeover and IASM pics!!! And of course A&E!!! I am guilty of loving IASM!!! :upsidedow I make my FP for A&E for all 7 of us..DH is going to kill me

Thanks; DH won't kill you; his girls will love it so he will be happy for them.

Comments for the last 2 updates since I was away from the DIS all weekend:

I hope you and George had a good weekend.

Good HM pics! I can rarely get anything decent on there due to the lighting. Your Wishes pics were great too, but I'm sorry it was the only time you got to see them. And I love BTMR at night, changes the experience quite a bit.

I was surprised how well they turned out. BMR at night is definitely a whole different experience.

Avery's mermaid makeover was great! I do enjoy IASM but it's okay to skip it occasionally. And your Liberty Tree Tavern lunch looks delicious. I haven't been there since I was a kid. I did the FP+ for A&E last month and also had only a 15 minute wait with it. Good thing too, because there is no way I would spend 3-5 hours in standby. I loved the movie, but so not worth it to me.

I would be glad to skip it permanently, but no one will let me. :rotfl2: You need to get back to LTT. I'm with you, great movie, but not standing in line for four hours.

Avery looks awesome as a mermaid! I love the Pirates League room- such fun décor.

It was really neat in there and the secret door was fun too.

Lunch looks pretty good. We have never dined at LTT, but we adore the nearby CHH.

I love CHH too! We try to do it once a trip.

:woohoo: for the meet with Anna and Elsa. Standby is absolutely insane for that. GREAT photopass pictures. I love all your Frozen attire

Thank you; we had a lot of fun with the ladies.

:goodvibes

Thanks. :)

Playing catch up again.

My life story lately; but it should be better now that the boss is gone for two months.

Love the mermaid makeover! So cute! Lunch at LTT looked really good too.

Jill in CO

Thanks, Jill. It was fun watching the mermaid makeover in action.

I love this update!!! :lovestruc So much love for this update!!! Avery's mermaid makeover is gorgeous! :cutie: Love that her shirt matches the make-up perfectly! :thumbsup2 And the Anna and Elsa M&G photos!!! :scared1: They are SO. PERFECT! All three of you (you, Cayley and Mary) have the most awesome shirts on for the greet! Just loving it!

Thanks, Connie. I really like the whole mermaid theme...more than the princess theme. I'm so glad we all wore our shirts because the ladies noticed.

The mermaid makeover was cute!!!

I agree; I need a granddaughter now so I can take her.

Thanks for sharing your trip! I've enjoyed reading it.

:goodvibes

Thanks for being here...we appreciate it.

My sister is taking her girls to the Pirates league this year....I have tried to talk Claire into it and she won't...spoiled sport!

Your nieces will love it. I'm really surprised Claire doesn't want to do it.

Liberty Tree looks yummy...Still need to get there and try it for myself!

It is yummy...get yourself there to give it a try.

Hi Kathy! :wave2:

:wave2: Good to see you.

Great updates and pics so far. You guys got a lot done on arrival day!

We did; I was quite pleased.

Love the makeovers as well :goodvibes

Thanks.

Kathy, I have been so busy with everything since we got back from WDW that I have fallen way behind on the DIS.

I'm about 3/4 of the way caught up. I've been crazy busy at work myself. I know you'll be here when you can.

Love your last update. Well except for the It's a Small World attraction. Like you it is one of my least favorite attractions right there with Carousel of Progress and Stitch's Great Escape. Now all I'm going to hear ringing in my mind all day is that song. And for that I thank you. :rotfl2:

:lmao::lmao::lmao: Sorry...I would not inflict that on my worse enemy. Well, maybe I would. But you aren't an enemy. Forgive me? ;)

I see you had an ADR for the LTT. I love this place just for the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake. We had an ADR for it on our last day before flying out and ended up cancelling and having a late breakfast at Ohana instead. It was nice, but I'm now wishing we would have spent a few more hours in the MK instead. And yes, I now wish I would have gone to LTT just for that awesome dessert. :sad2:

When are you going to listen to Kathy? :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I hope you are doing well with all that has been going on for you the last few weeks. Say hi to Mark for me and praying it all works out for the two of you.

We are fine. Mark is enjoying being able to do baseball games during the day and he's even putting a slight dent in his honey-do list.

Avery loos fantastic !!! It's a Small World was removed from the families; list after I took the Girls on it and they proceeded to tell Judy and Kyle how the song drove them NUTS:lmao:Have to get me some pix with Frozen :cool1:

Thanks, Rosie. That song just has a horrid way of creeping up in your brain hours after you have ridden it. I hope you get to see Ana and Elsa.

love the mermaid makeover. so cute :)

She was the prettiest Mermaid that day for sure.

We love IASW. We had fun riding right before park closing with no one in our boat. What's not to love about a song that gets stuck in your head for the rest of your trip ;)

Ummm....where should I start? :rotfl::rotfl:

15 min to see the Frozen ladies, :thumbsup2, I keep reading about the line being like 5 hours long

Yep, the lines were awful. One reason at least to love FP+.

Can't wait to see what's in store for Miss Cayley :goodvibes

Hopefully that will get up today.

The Pirate's League looks so neat! The boys were both too young last year, but maybe when we can go again they might want makeovers.

Oh, the boys would love it. I hope you can do it on your next trip.

Kathy, I'm so sorry that I am so late checking in! Life has been completely crazy here and I literally haven't been even reading my emails! Anyway I'm here now and hopefully I'll get caught tonight or tomorrow!

Ali, get here when you can...I understand.

I want to be a mermaid ... Oh wait, I am much too old for that!

We are NEVER too old. Let's make a deal. If our trips ever overlap, you and I will become Mermaids together. :)

Love the A&E meet and greet pics - thank heavens for FP+!

Yes, thank heaves for FP+ or we would never have seen them.

By the way, I can't remember if I thanked you for introducing me to the Turtle Krawl .... Many were enjoyed at OKW a couple of weeks ago ;-)

Oh, I'm so glad you enjoyed the Turtle Krawl and had many. We have a dinner reservtion at Olivia's just so I can have one since we aren't staying at OKW in September.

Awwww the mermaid makeover was so cute! I'll bet the girls were just over the moon to get to meet Anna and Elsa!

They were (and so was I).

Your lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern looks yummy. We've only eaten there once but we really liked it. We would've gone back this time but we HAD to do Be Our Guest since we had never done that before.

Mark and I are going to try to get a FP for Be Our Guest in September.

Loving the trip report!

Thank you!

Hi Kathy and Mary. The girls are growing so fast, and they just keep getting cuter! Your girls trips always look like so much fun! Looking forward to reading more.

:wave2: back at ya! They are growing way too fast. I told them both on numerous occasions to stop it. I don't they will listen though.

I'm here I'm here!!! Sorry it took me so long to find you! I got some catching up to do!!

:yay::yay: Maddie is here. Good to see you. I'm glad you found me.

Joining in, trip looks fabulous so far!

:welcome::welcome: thank you for joining. It really was a great trip.

Sorry for everything that your family is enduring right now. Stay strong Kathy! Things will look up eventually.

Thanks very much; we truly appreciate it. :)

Looks like you had a great ending to your evening in the MK! What a busy first day!!

It was a busy first day, but it was all worth it.

No Wishes?! :sad2: Not so disappointing when you know you are going back real soon.

I was glad we saw some of them. Mark always needs a "rest" so I know we will sit and watch them in a few months.

I love the ability to have a quick breakfast in the room and then head out. Not to mention, it saves a lot of $$.

Agreed; I'm not usually a big breakfast eater to begin with (although I do love my breakfasts on vacation).

Avery's mermaid makeover is so cute!!

Agreed!

Ohhhh, the coveted FP+ for the Frozen duo. Was it worth it? Did it live up to all the hype?

Absolutely! I keep wondering if I should get them for Mark and I? He has an Olaf shirt so he'd fit right in.

Lunch looked good. I haven't eaten at LTT since 2006. We did dinner there just before the MNSSHP. Still had characters then and they were in their costumes. Meal was good, but the character interaction was great fun!

We never got a chance to eat there when they had characters. I'm not sure why we never did lunch before we went about five or six years ago for the first time.

I'm sorry I've been missing for four days. My main boss takes the summer off (he won't be back until after Labor Day) and we worked fervently to get everything done in time. Plus I've been fighting something (earache last week and lightheadedness this week) and running my brother back and forth to the rehab to see my mom. I should be good for awhile now.

So let's get back to the TR, shall we?

We had just finished up seeing Ana and Elsa and we had one more princess yet to see:

After visiting with Ana, Elsa and Aurora, it was time to get a move on it. We decided to walk to the Contemporary and catch a bus there for DTD. Why would we be going to DTD in the middle of the day? Because Cayley had a very special appointment here:

Cayley decided three weeks before the trip she wanted to be a princess. There was absolutely nothing available at the MK, but Mary was able to snag one at 4 p.m. at DTD.

And so the process begins:

(some of these might be out of order)

And.....drum roll please:

Continued in next post

After Cayley was turned into the most beautiful Princess Ariel ever, we headed to the bus stop to head back to the Magic Kingdom.

We stopped and got this pose first:

We took the bus to the Contemporary and then caught the monorail to the MK after looking in the shops for a bit.

We arrived at the MK and I took a few photos:

I remembered to take a balloon picture:

We were set to do some rides but we had something more important to do first. And what could that be?

We had to eat! We were starving after all the running around with the girls and their makeovers and lunch seemed like it had been ages ago. We went to Columbia Harbor House...a favorite of ours.

Mary had the Anchors Aweigh Sandwich:

I had the Fried Shrimp Platter:

And the girls each had the Smucker's Uncrustables with drink, yogurt and fruit:

We sat on the second floor of the restaurant but, unfortunately, could not get a table by the windows.

Everyone was finished eating except for AVERY! Avery is NOT much of an eater at all. Mary told her we weren't going to any rides until she ate her yogurt since she didn't want the fruit. Avery was being a 10 year old who didn't want to eat anymore when I put yogurt on the spoon and said "come on Avery, I want to ride rides...take a little nibble." And Avery proceeded to spit it out. I wish someone had caught a picture of it. It was absolutely hysterical. She had yogurt running down her face and her mom, Mary, then said: Avery you are a "Bad Bad Baby." This became a running joke throughout the rest of the trip.

We cleared off the tables of our garbage (I REALLY hate when people leave their garbage on the table when there is a garbage can not five feet away) and went outside to decide where to head first.

But before we could hit that first ride, we had to take a picture for Dorine (I call her D)...DMGeurts here on the DIS. And why would we have to take a picture for a specific DISer? Because we were stylin' with our D original bags that she makes:

Up next, let's hit some rides

Cayley looks so pretty with her makeover!

Yum, I love CHH! I think those window seats upstairs are no longer a hidden secret. I've never been able to get one of them.

What a funny story to explain your TR title! Too bad you didn't get a picture.

Love the photo with the bags. Your Dumbo is one of my all time favorites of all the bags she's made.

Ah, the title is clear now :rotfl2: That is hilarious! I have to say if it were one of my DDs (my DD7 is my non-eater) I would have been :lmao: but DH would have flipped. And about A&E, I hope he's happy because the girls are excited!! I bought an Anna dress from Etsy for DD7 I CAN'T WAIT :goodvibes Cayley looks great as Ariel:lovestruc

Cayley looks adorable with her Princess makeover (of course, she's adorable without it too)! I don't see how they can stand their pulled that tight though. I'd have a headache in less than 2 seconds.

Poor Avery! She didn't want to eat and ya'll were trying to spoon feed her yogurt. She's not a bad bad baby. She's just a I'm Not Hungry 10 year old. ;)

* I forgot to mention the purses. I love love love them!

I think I'm caught up now. Spending most days at the pool with the grandkids.

The Mermaid is cute. My DGS was Jake as the other designs terrified him. They do a wonderful job there.

I have only eaten at LTT for dinner. One of Jim's favorites. He likes Thanksgiving and grew up on boxed mashed potatoes and Stove Top so it's all good to him.

I am probably one of the few people that gets depressed if I don't ride IASW at least once. One of my favorites but I did ride it at the 1964 World's Fair so a sentimental favorite.

We did BBB with my granddaughters and it was a highlight of the trip.

I love the shrimp platter at CHH. Missed that last trip too. Now I want to go again.
