on thursday not tomorrow, but next week. And I am scared that they might hurt, do they? :confused3 If anyone has them, please tell me what it's like. I REALLY want to know! And if you do post THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

OMG! Me too! next week! i dont know what it feels like either and i dunno what to expect... all i know is that i want colored braces. :)

I had braces from 6th to 8th grade. I really was not looking forward to getting them, but the end result is worth it. As far as them hurting, I wouldn't necessarily say they "hurt," but when you first get them on (and when you get the bands changed) they do feel a little tight. That should go away within a couple days. Good luck with your braces! :teeth:

thanx!

I just got mine off, I had `em for four years... no, they don`t hurt. Don`t believe everything people tell you

well, they don't exactly hurt, they just feel tight sometimes ( like when you first get them on or when you get them tightend) yea, i've still got mine on, omg they are annoying sometimes though, but my teeth are looking better

OK for the first few days they hurt, at least mine did. It is better to eat soft foods. After that they are not to bad. When they are tightened monthly, they are a little tight though.

I have to get braces later this year! I'm not sure when though.... The dentist said I need them because my teeth are too close together! I think I'll get purple braces! ;)

I had braces for 4 years and I just got them off this year. They don't hurt they just can be sore right after you get them on and when you get the bands changed hope that helps.

I am a pro at braces...I had them three times 1) baby teeth when permanent ones coming in 2) on the permanent teeth 3) just this past year when my teeth moved even with a permant retainer...go figure. Anyway, the first day stick to eating soft foods, the more pressure you apply to your teeth the more "uncomfortable" (not exactly pain...think headache pain) it will be, so just don't try eatin an apple or something on the first day. Also take any sort of asprin, pain reliever, etc almost before you get the braces on, so it will be fast acting. Just continuing taking the pain reliever...no problem. Your tongue will want to explore the new equipment, so be careful, really let the doctor know if something is poking you. Your lips will adjust in a couple days to having braces, so talking might be interesting, you'll learn fast! In a couple days, you will be adjusted and you probably won't notice them. When you get the braces adjusted, you teeth might be sensitive again for about half an hour, but each time it gets easier. If your teeth are like mine, they adjust fast, and you can always see results within the week. Good Luck! If there are any more questions let me know, I sometimes think I could just do my own dental work! :rotfl:

my 9 year old got hers today, i read her your post--she laughed and said she is a wimp--so you shouldnt have a problem, she said "it was a breeze"

I have to get mine may 4th...i dunno what colours i should get tho...lol.

Have to admit- old person here (i'm 36) and saw your post and had to reply. Just got them for the 2nd time last month- didn't get any colors though! They hurt a little for the first 3 or 4 days and felt kinda funny. My teeth felt a little loose too. Had the wire changed once so far and they felt a little tight for a day or two. I took Advil and it helped. It really isn't so bad and I barely notice them now.

My advice: wear your retainer!

Thanx, to everybody..........................for you know, still have 6 day's left, now where is something chewy? :)
