The stage was set---The Swan. 8 PM Till 12PM----8/11/01

Shirley set me up with a Lanyard and a Pin Book. 75 Pins in all.

Time to get it on.

I bargained, I sweated, I was tough. I am a PIN TRADER.

I took on the toughest of the lot. My kind of people. The 3 to 12 year olds.

I wound up putting a Euro Disney Peuter style pin on "THE HAT". Had to use all of of my bag of tricks to get that pin.

I left with 14 pins of the original 75, but got a Pin I wanted. I met the best and and came out of it, with at least a tie. The competition was fierce.

Piece of cake-----I just hope these little heavy hitters realize they were competing with a SUPER TRADER.

I just have to add to this. John took a lanyard and a page full of pins and gave them out to the children there. This is what it is all about. Making new friends and making people happy.

John, I love it! You made me laugh so hard. Welcome to the world of the heavy hitters.

I saw John in action -- and he is a super trader! He approached my 5-year-old granddaughter, she was playing hard to get and shy. She's a tough trader. He kept at it, determined to get what he wanted. He was patient, got down to her level (well under four feet), spent a lot of time making offers and counteroffers, finally he made the trade -- two Winnie the Pooh pins for Mandi and two for her 2-year-old sister who was asleep at the time. And what did supertrader John get in return? A smile. It seemed to be exactly what he wanted. What a guy!

Let' s set the record straight.

I did trade for and received a Euro Disney Pin.

I remember mom's name was Chrissie (hope I spelled it right), a daughter Taylor (I hoped I spelled that right).

And of course, due to old age---scratch that----I meant maturity, I forgot her daughter's name I traded with. I probably would have spelled that young ladies name wrong, also.

My trade only cost me a couple Donald's and maybe a couple other pins.

I FELT IT WAS A FAIR TRADE.

That was me, Jordan, that you traded with for the EuroDisney Mickey pin. I hope it's enjoying it's new home on "The Hat", in it's front-and-center spot!! I'm honored that you chose my pin to put on "The Hat". I'm sure enjoying my new Donald pins and the Blue Fairy pin, too (thanks!)!

Let's trade again sometime, okay? I'm always looking for Donald pins!!! And I have a EuroDisney Steamboat Willie pin if you're interested.

By the way, you said you took on the "toughest of the lot"--the 3-12 year olds....well, I'm 14;) , but I have to say, you really ARE a SUPER TRADER!!!!!!

I hope we can see each other at another pin meet sometime soon!

Bye!

Jordan :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

p.s.--My mom's name is Christy! You got my sister's name right!

John,

We don't know who had more fun trading-- you or the kids! We think it was YOU!

All we know is that you certainly did more than your share to "Continue the Tradition" of pin trading at WDW by making it FUN for the next generation.

MY DH is not a pin trader, but he really enjoyed watching you in action. You made the evening truly special. He swears your trading was one of the highlights of his trip!

To Pintrader Jordan:

I have always had trouble with names and ages.

A good example is my handle-----john59. I forgot to spell john with a capital J, and 59 is my age. The problem is I am going to be 61 (now 60, barely).

I was going to key 3 to 14, but my bifocals let me down and I entered a 2---not a 4. ;)

I look froward to a future trade and will keep you in mind.

John 60 (got it right this time), now off to work on my spelling.
